Well naturally nobody would openly admit it and to be fair as with a lot of things it's probably subconcious for the most part. e.g. Hollywood filmmakers have openly stated that (largely white) audiences prefer white leading men and women which is why the overwhelming majority of them are.Of course that isn't the sole reason but I believe that it is certainly a factor in his lack of popularity.

How do you explain Anderson's popularity?

there are valid reasons for people to dislike Jacob right alongside with some of the usual ridiculousness. I won't hold it against them or accuse them of racism.

Mentor role + punching Udina, it really isn't that hard to comprehend.

Looks like they aren't popular when compared to the other characters either. I guess Wrex and the robot may give Jacob a run for his money in the least popular character contest. I haven't noticed much fandom directed at Anderson but feel free to direct me to his fan thread. I must have missed it.

fan threads=/=general popularity. when polls are made that rate the characters instead of telling you to chose just one (which basically ends up with majority people choosing their favorite LI or person they want to become an LI) - some of the highest rated squadmates are Wrex, Mordin, Legion and Garrus. they get barely any negative reactions from people.

in other words - quit thinking that page count actually means something, other then general chattiness of the fanbase.

Well you've made it abundantly clear that you feel the lack of activity in Jacob related threads is not indicative of his lack of popularity. I don't agree but of course you are entitled to believe so. To me it seems fairly obvious and it's a shame because I think he's a very solid character. It's nice to have someone on your team who isn't a murderer and/or psychologically disturbed in one way or another.

So very, very many comments on gaming journalism sites are filled with praise for those characters, and the journalists themselves won't stop admiring them either.

This^ I was surpriseed that the threads for all three of these chraters were pretty small inc omparison to those of Miranda, Kaidan, Ashley, and Liara etc. the only other character thread I can think of larger than those is the femshep thread and she's the main character.

Jacob is a far better character than many give him credit for: solid reliable guy...

I said "pretty much" nonexistent. Obviously there are some fans, but don't feel so special because virtually every npc in the bloody game has a fanbase. Jacob's fanbase is so minuscule it's laughable.

I'm guessing that the climax of the Cerberus plot in ME3 will involve Shepard working with Miranda and Jacob since they use to work for Cerberus it could most likely involve both of them finding TIM

Shepard: Sounds good I'll finally get some answer's from him, but I suppose you have a plan to get there?
Jacob: I way ahead of you Shepard

Jacob: The base is well defended, it has system's that can detected stealthed vessel's so we can't just fly the Normandy in
