I just wanted to pop in and say while Jacob wasn't the L.I. of my Main Shepard, I actually liked his character and to my own surprise his romance as well. And to that end, his treatment in ME3 was horrible.
I just wanted to say that I fully support the Fix Jacob movement even if my main gripe is about Thane's treatment. I don't begrudge any of you who wants a fix Jacob DLC.

Heck, I'd download that one myself!

I love him as a bro, he was the only crew member with no crazy wackiness going on. Nice to have someone more level-headed to spill drinks with.

Great question. Why did they do it that way? There was always many ways to see Jacob. Some players found that he was genuinely honest and stable. Others were seeing cracks in his persona of saness, maybe some hypocrisy about wanting Shepard to trust him right at the beginning but never opening up to him. Did he want to get personal with Shepard (or more if femshep) or was he just interested in keeping things professional?

Same kind of questions were asked about Garrus romance for example. Was it just blowing off steam? Could things get beyond friendship?

Im pretty curious as to why they made Jacob take the low road instead of the high road. Why they shattred his persona of stability isntead of reinforcing it. It definitly puts his ME2 self in a wole new light.

Persona shattering seems to be a constant theme from bw regarding some of the ME2 characters.

They just took the potential worst of him and ran with it.

To be honest it makes me wonder, if we had talked about his father back in ME2 (I know the games doenst go that way) would he still have felt that making a baby during wartime was a great idea? Coul Shep have helped him to find stability within himself instead of throwing himself at that idea of running a scientific community where people could see him like some kind of father figure (leader and protector of those who cant defend themselves)? Where did things went wrong and Shepard didnt notice?

How is it that several character threads have bw interaction, including a Kelly thread, but we do not?

Tali thread...2 months ago, but they were having problems. We must be very well behaved.

Hey guys, I beat ME3 tonight so I'm back to visiting this place lol. I heard about what happened to Jacob's romance in ME3 and I just wanna say that it's a damn shame. I remember supporting him per-release, and was hoping everyone who romanced him got their "prize" in ME3. I haven't read any posts yet, but I imagine many of you are upset. Just wanna share in your disappointment. Jacob was a great character, shame for him to do that to FemShep.

Would it have been so hard to add a few plot flags in there and redesign Jacob's fate depending on whether or not you romanced him in ME2?

I hope they keep the squadmate count down in future games/IP's. Maybe they won't mess things up so terribly if they only have two or three characters to keep track of.

Yeah they clearly didn't care much at all for any of the ME2 squadmates. Even the popular ones got little content. None of them were given squadmate status.

Before ME3 launched, I figured unpopular squadmates would get a LotSB type mission. An hour to hour and half mission with temp squad status. On the other end of the spectrum, I thought popular ME2 squaddies would get a full squadmate status. None of this occurred. I think, in retrospect, the suicide mission aspect of ME2 was huge mistake. A mistake that really limited what the could do with ME2 squadmates in ME3.

The suicide mission format I found very fun. With he possibility of losing squaddies. But if they had kept it to a team of 5-6, it would have been way easier to handle. and satisfy most players.

I think the SM format was unique and enjoyable, however Bioware should have done a better job in ME3 accounting for sqaudmates who survived it and give them good representation in 3, especially the LIs outside of Tali/Garrus. They felt more like cameos than true guest appearances and it's a shame.

Hmm... well, it must have been difficult to keep everything together with the ME2-chars so yes. I think they found themselves in a difficult position in this. Still sad that there isn't a way to patch things up with Jacob. I really can't see this coming with the person that he was in ME2, they had some of the best convos that I have seen in ME.

What did you guys do with your FemShep's that romanced Jacob? How did you play it when you imported it, I just want to see it for myself once, so I can discuss it in a good way. She might go for Traynor afterwards.

I haven't seen it myself yet, but does Jacob really seem surprised at seeing FemShep again? What did I miss in that case because their last convo after the SM in ME2 was as cute as cute can be, oh well.

I dunno... theres no BW interaction in Garrus thread either, and there's nothing wrong with his romance or bromance 

But I guess if I was them I would be afraid to chat with the fans about Jacob or Thane. Their handling is hard to justify. They would have to say, in Thane's case, that they forgot he was a LI, and in Jacob's case, that they wanted things to turn bad. I jsut wish they had the time/resources to make those choices meaningful, instead of ruining some already hard to justify changes.

I wish that they had added a new human male LI since they removed Jacob. I really enjoyed the romance-arc in ME2 and was looking forward to seeing it continued in ME3 but if this is how they want to end it there should be something new for FemShep. Especially since Thane has a scripted death as well.

I happen to prefer the human male, in RL and games. But things feels a bit out of whack in ME3.

BroShep get's Ash, Miranda, Jack for bigger romances. Kelly and Allers for smaller ones. He is clearly a desirable human male. Traynor says no thanks.

Human Males who don't want FemShep:
Joker: Don't want you. Sorry, can't because of regs.
Vega: Don't want you. Sorry,  tease only
Jacob: REALLY REALLY Don't want you apparently

Human Males who want FemShep:
Kaidan: Who will never ever get of the ship in case he get's hurt

I just would like to feel that my FemShep is, well, a little bit desirable at least. Remember them saying that FemShep was hot. Are you sure? No one of her own species wants her?
Think I got better luck in love than my FemShep     and that's just odd. She's a warrior-goddess and I had braces all through High School.

They should not have done this to Jacob, it feels really out of whack with how things were in ME2. But fine, if that's how they want to do it, they please let FemShep and Jacob at least have a convo about it where you get to talk about. Let us roleplay it for some closure. And please add someone new so that it doesn't mean that FemShep looses out on LI:S.
