Haven't heard anything solid about a romance dlc, yet. In the EC, supposedly there are some files that refer to the Leviathan, a Reaper you can actually get to join you, who brainwashes a whole batarian colony. So chances are that is the next DLC.
Out of all the possible DLCs, I think a romance-related one will be one of the tougher ones to pull off, simply due to the fact that Bioware will have to schedule all the VOs, and figure it out logically. All the(non-squadmate) LIs are off doing their own thing, so it might be tough to find reasons for any of them to be in one particular spot for the same mission, and I'm not sure that BIoware has the resources to make sidequests for all of them.

Thats the thing I havent played ME3 in awhile so Im holding out on playing it as a stress relief during fall semester.
So I'm pretty much with my head in the ground concerning EC.
As for the rumored DLC that is tricky getting the VO together and doing all those missions. Hmmm I think it was pointed out in the Thane thread that majority of the writers had this "Look at my accomplishments and forget my predecessors achievements" mentality....of course I still think they shot themselves in the foot for everything ME2.
*Dunks cookie into tea and adds truvia* Still least I have good company to chat with during this ball dripping heatwave. Finger Sandwhich?

The EC is pretty good, IMO. It doesn't solve anything in regard to Jacob, but that was never in the cards. What few problems I had with the ending were basically solved with the EC. I just hope that the Romance DLC, if it happens, can be that well done.
*Eats finger sandwich, then looks around, realizing he didn't bring milk for his cookies* Dang. Well, let's get talking about what we Jacob fans want, if a romance DLC should occur at some point. Thoughts anybody? How do we want it to go(again, IF it happens. Let's not get our hopes too high)?

Well aside from my earlier statements that bordered on pyscho girl/boyfriend,.....I really would like the option for them to discuss the subject like adults. Drama or not they need to so to establish why Jacob did what he did and feel some god damn remorse.
Which could later on let him try to win Shepard's respect while trying to be included in his child's life.
Or if they are still going with the "Baby you was for 6 month s so I had to nutt it!" I demand a slap, or a cold toned verbal beatdown to make him 3 inches tall.

See me, I would like to see Shepard get a holocall/meeting with Jacob on the Citadel prior to the end of the Genophage Arc, smilar to what she gets with Miranda. This would allow Shepard to end/continue the romance, keeping it within player control. Jacob could mention Dr. Cole(including her making advances), and the work he's doing saving Ex-Cerberus personnel. And they could make-up or break-up amicably here if the players wants that. Like so:
Shep: You seem to be happy there, Jacob. You like Dr. Cole?
Jacob: Yeah, we've got a lot in common, Shepard. Still, she isn't you. Couldn't reach you when you were with the Alliance, but I'm thinkin' about you. We still good, Shepard?
Break-up:
Shepard:Jacob....I don't think this will work. With everything that's going on, the chances of us both living through this war....
Jacob: *pained, dejected look* Yeah...I get you. Doing what we do, it's hard to hope for anything real. For what it's worth, Shepard, I love y- loved you. Even if you don't feel the same, I want you to know that. We still friends?
Shepard: Yeah, still friends, Jacob. Take up that doctor's offer for drinks. She sounds nice.
Jacob: Yeah, I might do that. See you around, Shepard.
Make-up:
Shepard: Oh, we're still good Jacob. I've missed you. Saving the galaxy won't be the same without you watching my back.
Jacob: *smirk* Yeah, but we both have things to do, Shepard. These people are counting on me to protect them. They need me.
Shepard: Wanna trade?
Jacob: *chuckle* Thanks Shepard, but I'll pass. I don't envy you, saving the galaxy by playing politics. But I'll keep in touch, if I can.
Shepard: *sultry smile* Calling your girlfriend from a secret location, Jacob? Kind of like sneaking into the captain's quarters....
Jacob: *playful smile* Yeah, it's a heavy risk....
Shepard: But the priiize......
Jacob: I'll see you soon, Shepard. Goodbye. I love you.
That's how I think Jacob's romance could be continued before you meet him on the mission. And if you don't take this chance to talk with him, he will end up cheating on you with Dr. Cole. That would keep the situation in the player's control, but still have the opportunity to have Jacob decide to leave Shepard. I think it would be another case of Jacob being a unique LI in that he will do that if you don't talk to him.
Going through with this meeting would change quite a bit of dialogue in the 'Ex-Cerberus Scientists' mission, since Shepard would already know what Jacob is doing there, and who Dr. Cole is. And when she talks with Jacob, he'll still be loyal to her, and Dr. Cole could even say something congratulatory to Shepard, like 'I went after him, but he wouldn't take my offer. I thought he'd be better off here, with me. But that man loves you. Take care of him, will you? We owe our lives to him.'
And when Shepard and Jacob meet back up on the Citadel afterward, they could talk about the future, and what they want. Jacob can mention starting a family, and they can have a chance for a fade-to-black.
Now this would fix pretty much everything I think is wrong with the Jaco romance arc, with fairly minimal resource expenditure. So that's what I want. Not getting my hopes up, though.

@CastonFolarus
This.
It's brilliant! It fits both Shepard and Jacob. And it is an *easy* but nevertheless brilliant way to do it too. This would actually make my Jacob-mancing Solider playthrough playable as it is, I don't have the heart to import her in ME3.
If I may be so bold, this should definitely be suggested in giftfish's thread here:

Well, if you insist. Hadn't dropped by that thread in a while, but I suppose I could send this in for review. And hey, MAYBE Bioware will see it then
*grabs another cookiee* Hey, did anyone think to bring some soda? Root Beer is preferred, but I'm not too picky.

Indeed.
One has nothing to lose by suggesting something, at best they'll listen and reflect (which I sincerely hope they do), and at worst they won't...And at that point... well, there's always head-canon to provide some (slim) comfort I guess.
*Hmm...tries to find some Root Beer...*

I agree with this as well to a certain extent. Very well thought out though and it does well keeping in tone with the characters. Not over the top...now this is an option that would make me happy and possibly, possibly, look over the other screw ups in the game....still we need to pool our resources with the others LI in getting heard.

I gotta say, this thread is a lot more fun with food. It's been a depressing year, as far as being a Jacob fan is concerned. I can barely stand to play the Ex-Cerberus Scientists mission these days. It just has too many bad memories.
Thane's death is something I can get over. I wish that he could have been saved, since it doesn't make his death any less tragic if you can save him(afterall, it's not like Miranda's death is less sad if you can save her, yes?). But I don't think Bioware went too far off the reservation as far as his protrayal as a character. With Jacob, they nearly went off the gorram MAP.

I had one ending where he was with his pals looking happy/celebrating, another where he's with Brynn where it looks like they're consoling one of their colleagues. Does anyone know what the mechanic here is, (is one good and one bad)?

That's different than what I always get. In mine, he looks like he's in front of a classroom or something, leaning against a desk. What happened in yours? Final decision, Paragon/Renegade, EMS score, differences in your treatment of Jacob/Brynn...
Edit: According to the Wikia, the one with Jacob and Brynn happens if you chose Synthesis. Doesn't mention the one where he's hanging with his pals.

That's because Miranda is a more popular LI than Jacob is. Plus many people hate Jacob's character. I don't, I liked in from the start of ME2. I loved doing his ME2 loyalty mission, it helped me get to know him better. I never hated Jacob, I liked him from the beginning! The character that I thought was a jerk was Miranda actually, I really loved her character after I completed her loyalty mission and saved her sister! It is wierd how I ended up liking Miranda's character the most since I really disliked her at the beginning of the game, but for some reason the character that I liked from the start of the game (Jacob) ended up being one of my favorite characters, but not my first.CastonFolarus wrote...
