hi, my name is moira-chan and i'm mainly active on the thane support^^
but i'm also a reporter for the german social network news and i'm responsible for the "news of love" where i mentioned all news of LI protest so that why i came in here.

i have to admit i don't like jacob that much (don't hit me ^^') in me2, he was a nice guy, really but i don't like how ...shepard sounded while she talked with him...but well, i really really feel with you how he was treaten in me3...hell it was even worse than thane and i never believed it, so even if i haven't the time to be around here quite often, be sure you have my full support...
and if you have some news for me, i will bring them on snn and post the news with translation for you in here, so that you can see what i've reported

The Romance DLC Survey ends today at 3pm EST.  Yesterday we were sitting  at whopping 7,500 responses! We're trying to get as close to 10K as we can!

If you haven't yet taken it, and are interested, PLEASE pop over there and take the survey (see link in my sig).  It will only take 5 minutes of your time...unless you like to make comments.

Results will be analyzed statistically, summarized into a report, and sent to  Bioware.  If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!

Just read it. It's a wonderfully worded, excellent summary of how terribly Bioware handled Jacob's character in ME3 if he was romanced. giftfish, thank you. It's nice to see some words of solidarity on this front. It's getting on 6 months since ME3, and it still hurts like hell to be a Jacob fan.

And OHMIGOSH IT'S SO ADORABLE.

Sadly I had to kill him to keep his character normal. *Sigh.*

Yeah, that's pretty much what you have to do with a romanced Jacob. Otherwise, he comes out OK. My other Shepards are still a little miffed by him trying to ignore the war, but overall he's portrayed well enough.

By my romanced ones? Killed him. And I haven't imported either of them yet. Just don't have the stomach to do it. Might never do it. Much as I dissagree with Thane's portrayal in ME3, I still imported the Shepards who romanced him. I still can't do it with Jacob.

Afterall, you're right. His romance is really good, once you get into it.

So yeah, welcome to the shat-on fanbase! Want a beer? We were tossing a few around about a month ago. And I think some people brought cake. But that might be a lie....


EDIT, 1 year and change later: Well, I'm officially unsubscribing to this thread. It's been a long time coming, but I just couldn't do it. I miss y'all, if you're still out there and have the sudden urge to look at long-forgotten, dead threads. Bioware really did a number on us, didn't they? I'm off to wait for DA:I. Hope that turns out well. Who knows what Bioware will do for the next Mass Effect, though. Godbless.

Now that you mention it, he does kind of ignore what's going on. Before I realized who Brynn was, I really enjoyed his portrayal in his mission. It made me feel giggly and stuff.

Yeah, their portrayals bothered me when romanced, though. I mean, in ME2, Jacob was all, "OH I LOVE YOU AND I'M HONEST AND I'M HEROIC AND I'D NEVER HURT YOU."
Then in ME3, he's all, "LOL ALL THAT WAS LIES I'M ACTUALLY AN **** WHO'S BOY-STEALING GIRLFRIEND WANTS TO NAME OUR BABY AFTER YOU JUST TO RUB THAT WOUND."
But this has probably been discussed a lot.

I'm optimistic, though. I think that if we scream loud enough, Bioware will rectify what they did. If they don't, I'll just cry and never buy a Mass Effect-related object again. 
 
I honestly didn't really see how people thought it was cheesy. I mean, after you get to the point where Shepard stops acting like she's in heat, it's very heartwarming. Especially if you first reject him in the romance scene.

And thank you. I'd love cake. But if it's a lie, I'll just go get some cookies.

Hey guys, so there was a romance DLC survey that was done a little while
ago and we finally posted the results of it. It was basically asking
what you liked about the romances, what you didn't, what you missed,
what you wish you would have seen, etc. There was no negativity behind
this, I can't stress that enough. There was no malice. This is not a
demand. That is not what we're trying to do. We're just basically asking
BioWare to please consider our LIs in future DLC. No, we're not trying
to turn ME into a dating SIM. That's not the idea either. Of course we
would love to have character-centric DLC but I dont see that as likely
or profitable, so we'll just see if anything comes from this. Also,
we're looking for someone who might have video know-how and the time to
treat a video of snippets of the romance scenes with Shepard and each LI
and string them together so we can put it up once we hit 20,000 as a
celebration. So if you think you might have the time or be willing to
help, it would be greatly appreciated. But if not, please take the time
to check out this survey.

So after replaying the series after 3 years, I remembered how much I love Jacob. He's still one of my favorites.

 

Jacob will always be my Shep's bromance.

Ah, Jacob. The great underrated character of the franchise. 

 

I've never understood the dislike or apathy towards him. He's level-headed, reliable, and sensible for the most part. It's still an utter travesty what they did to him in ME3, especially if romanced.
