It's the only reason why I haven't preorderd me copy of the game yet.  ME2 had a slew of preorder bonuses from various places. So before I place my preorder anywhere, I would like to know if this is something that's going to be done.

Not sure... maybe a little too early to tell. You can always pre-order at Amazon and cancel before the ship date for a full refund. I believe they're offering a $10 video game credit but as for specific in game bonuses they'll probably announce it later on.

It's a fair question but I doubt the devs are ready to announce any such deals yet, there are still several months left until release date.

god i hope not. such a horrible buisness practice that only punishes the gamers. its disgusting how they dangle game content over your head forcing you to preorder the game from a specific retailer.

You know I really wouldn't mind it if they then sold that dlc to everyone else, but you cannot preorder it from all the places with exclusive preorder dlc so you can never have them all.

Some of us are completionists and want everything in the game :P

exactly. and why should people get less content for buying the game a week late? or buying it from a mom and pop store instead of gamestop?

but nope, we'll probably get screwed out of armor and a gun again.

chopping game content from the game and releasing it as "exclusive" content is the way many large video game companies are operating. that's why i'm done buying games day one now and wait for the inevitable deluxe edition.

Seriously, developers need to stop with all this "Pre-order exclusive" crap, its just not fair!
I put my pre order down when ME2 was first announced, so i couldnt cancel it to get the extras. Not just that though, most of these deals are only available in north america, meaning huge portions of there audience miss out.
To me, not just as a gamer, it makes no sense at all, pissing your fans of like that.
Whatever the bonuses are, they should be available to all!

I only like Pre-orrder exclusives if they are actually worth it/Justify the content that goes with it. What about an Bioware Pass for exsample? like L.A Noire has, that makes you able to get all DLCs without paying anything extra for them, just buy the pass, and any pre-order exclusives/DLCs is free to get.

My thoughts exactly. The thing that kind of pisses me off is that PS3 users got the N7 Complete Arsenal Pack. 360 users didn't have the same access to that content (PC users can mod it in).

Most definitely.

It will probably be in the form of armors and/or weapons.

Really like this idea and I hope they do this.

I would rather they do NOT do retailer specific items - it just causes unfair problems with having to order either multiple copies OR holding out hope that you can get them later as DLC, which we generally have to pay extra for. It's just unnecessary and I think the annoyance the ME2 retailer specifics caused only proves the point.

Retailer specific pre-orders are basically guaranteed.

Hopefully they will take heed from Relic/THQ and at least rapidly release it as a DLC that doesn't come out a year later.

hate  when they pull that ****, I'm not sure my English major equipped me with the words for how much I hate it.  I haven't pre-ordered ME3 yet specifically because of how game releases are designed to **** the consumers over.  Nevermind the "deluxe" editions 6 months later, followed by the "super-duper deluxe" editions and the "anniversary" editions with new trinkets dangled in front of us; unless we pre-order a separate copy from every retailer and then go shell out some more money at a 7eleven (none of which even exist in my entire province) for frikkin Dr. Pepper, of all the wretched brands, we're deliberately denied the experience of the full range of options  built in to the game.  Add to that the bells and whistles that are given to users of another gaming system-- content not even offered for sale to the long-time fans who've been strung along on the original native platform-- and it's basically creating tiers of gamers based on income rather than actual dedication or loyalty.  Which doesn't just make dedication or loyalty feel redundant-- it makes them feel naive.  It makes them feel like a waste of time that'll just be taken advantage of, because the expectation is that we're stupid.  And this is a feeling I didn't have when I was making my decision to buy ME2, because I didn't even realise at the time that it was going on, but now that I'm aware it happened before I'm acutely sensitive to it regarding ME3.

If there's going to be premium, 'reward' content from the game's developers to its fans, then the reward should be for committing in advance to buy the game.  Period.  Not committing to buy the game from a certain store that whet BioWare's pole in return for a little kinky exclusivity.  Are we dealing with ****s who do fetish premiums?  "Come on, baby, only wear the shoes for me, I'll make it worth your while."  EB Games or Gamestop or Gamezilla, those retailers are nothing to me, they've done nothing special to earn my loyalty.  It's the work BioWare did and does that I care about and want to give my patronage to.  But giving perk X through one, and perk Y through another, withholding one or the other from me depending on which middle-man I choose-- or withholding both, if I give BioWare their money through some third distributor who didn't 'put out' a little extra behind the scenes-- feels like I'm being exploited by some sleazy, unscrupulous racket.

There's a good analogy for it-- I hate retailer-specific pre-order bonus content schemes like I hate child sex-slavery cartels.  And I'm pretty sure I'm not totally alone in that.  Is that a clear enough expression of why BioWare should think twice about jerking us, their revenue source, around with them?

^ This.
Given that not every country in the world has access to ths same game stores as what get the bonuses, it only encourages the rest of the world to pirate.
Let it be version specific, and not store brand specific.

Maybe becuase most of the time,we(the customer) aren't the revenue source for the retailer specific pre-order bonus? The retailers themselves do pay to have the those exclusives. Sometimes that is the Only reason the content exist is becuase marketing ask for content that can be used as pre-order bonuses.  Other businesses made deals with Bioware that resulted in this content. That is something that those Retailers can offer their Customers, That is a way for them to reward those who pre-order with them. I am sad to see that you think having to chose where to buy a game feels like some type of Sleazy,Unscrupulous racket when the stores and the company are upfront about the bonuses that each place gets. You chosing or having(for whatever reason) to use a Distributor who doesn't offer such bonuses is not Bioware's fault.
I think that you are taking not being able to get all the little bonus content a little personal, but that is just my opinion.
