I've been thinking about Kasumi on the Normandy. Someone else mentioned a similar idea in a different thread but, What if, instead of having a spesific place for her to be living in, She was always listed in different areas. Sometimes she'd be cloaked and you'd have to find her or something. Or maybe she'd be cloaked in the kitchen making a snadwitch and the ingredeants are just floating into place. As thought she forgot she left her cloak on.

I think I suggested that over in the squadmate dlc thread.

It'd have been fun trying to find where Kasumi was as she'd be constantly wandering around and spying on people. More amusing if I found her in the war-room, leading Shepard to grumble about giving those guards some hell that they make the ship's Commander get scanned everytime they want to enter the room, yet they somehow didn't notice the petite japanese woman breezing past them!

Some of the conversations with Kasumi would have been gold as well, I think her personality gels quite well with Shepard, which is why I wish they had more dialogue together.

Shepard: Kasumi, why do I have the suspicion that next time I call Anderson and Hackett on the QEC, all of the holograms will appear to be naked?
Kasumi: Don't be daft, Shep... I made you all pirates!

Er, The joke escapes me a bit but this is why I headcanon Kasumi and Shepard as drinking buddies (And her goodbye, funny enough, supports this). I feel like they could be very easy friends. Someone to lift his spirits during the dark of ME2.

EDIT: Just found an interesting line from the Shadow Broker... Apparently, He'd have a different line of dialogue should you have eraced the Greybox.

"I'm obliged you brought along Miss Goto, T'Soni. Even blank Greyboxes are worth a fortune."

I suppose this was axed as to suggest Kasumi has her own Greybox.

Exactly! They go really well together non-romantically. I don't oppose a romance but it's not required.

Of course like in most things Bioware did a complete 180 and we got the resentful dialog instead... I still can't reconcile why a friend would react like that.

Oh and I love the "find Kasumi" idea Lance.I could totally see it.

Damn it there are plenty of other squadmates that are badass, intriguing or just downright cool. Kasumi though is just sheer fun personified (not that she isn't badass intriguing or cool). There's just this playfulness about her.

EDI should say that if it looks like you are looking for her. Like, You pull up the map and it lists Kasumi Goto as being in the Mess Hall. You can walk around but you have to be right next to her to find her.

After a few moments or incessently pressing the A button, EDI will come over the com to say that and Kasumi's Omni-Tool will light up for a few seconds or something.

Well we know she's a bit of a playful hacker, I could imagine her messing around with the hologram projection circuits in the comms rooms for a laugh, to make people appear wearing to be wearing an assortment of odd outfits...

 You're right, they'd definitely be drinking buddies, so perhaps she'd do this after one too many pints...

Actually I think Hoy is her real last name. She may have used "Lane" as a stage name or to anglicize her name in media for... the reason some Asians do (I have no idea why).

Thing is, neither "Kym Lane" or "Kym Hoy" turns up much in Google. Her IMDB has only like 5 entries and they're almost all VOs. Maybe she's primarily a local singer? Or more into theatre? It sucks, but there's almost no info at all on her. I'd love to see more of her, in interviews or whatnot.

The event at the club was like "Singing with the Stars" or something, so it doesn't sound like she's a local singer. Still, Do want to see more of her. Her role as Kasumi was very memorable.

Considering she, presumably, went on stage under the name Lane, I'd be willing to bet that Lane is her real name while Hoy is her stage name.

Well, just got to the Jondum Bau mission during my new playthrough and Kasumi totally stole that entire scene.

I still don't get why they didn't give her more conversations with Shepard? It's clear that she totally gets how their mind works and knows exactly that Shep plans to talk her into joining the war effort...

But still, that objection sort of bothered me. I can understand that she's peaceful, but how can she accuse Shepard of trying to make everyone join them in marching off to war?

In case Kasumi hasn't noticed, they are at War... whether they like it or not?

I think Kasumi is more concerned that her skill set of hacking and stealth isn't of much use against gaint Reapers.

Little does she realise nor does Shepard ever explain to her that Cerberus and the Geth are perfectly suseptable to her skill set and she is perfectly useful over all.
