It kinda seemed like Hock and Kasumi know each other from waaay back, and that incident with Keiji was the last. Maybe ther real reason for the missionm was, that Kasumi wanted to face Hock. It's not like she was that subtle with her ninja suit, and Hock let her and shep to the greybox(simply thrown down to the table) even when he figured out the whole thing at the door. Perhaps Hock started his career as a simple thief, before becoming a rich businessman. Is it impossible that he and Kasumi worked together once? (Under the alias of Solomon and Helena Gunn) He becoming jelous of Keiji. Or he's the abuisve stepfather. Or the ninja master.[*]I doubt Kasumi has a greybox. If that were true, she would have all the memories she wants. On my last playthrough(with Mechler Shepard who is so far unromanced, since he is waiting for Kasumi) I let her keep it. Well I don't know about other threads but the Miranda one is the size it is because even the smallest detail, like one line or throwaway comment is hardcore discussed and analyzed. I've said it before elsewhere but there's only so many pictures you can post before you start repeating and only so many times you can go "omg I love x character! they're awesome lolololo" before no one cares. So yeah discussion is key.
Harder to do for Kasumi because she doesn't have full dialog. But not impossible. Things we might discuss:Just a few examples. But if I thought of these in the span of 15 min, surely we can come up with more at length and really kick off this thread.
- What we think her character is like beyond the playful joking exterior (it's OK to extrapolate but try to base it on ingame evidence and to build it logically).
- Background: how she became a thief, what/where was she before (where did she get trained doing what she does? She's a goddamn ninja:ph34r:)
- Her stuff on the Normandy- she gives you history but is there more?
- Relationship potential with Shepard or others both romance or friendship (for example, see my previous post on what I think her relation with Shepard is like)
- Loyalty Mission details.
- Graybox: Does she have one for herself? What about Keji? Should she have kept it? What did you decide/why? What was on there?
- If there's any artists/writers that can create fanart/fanfiction post that and we can discuss what we like about it etc.
- Where she might be in ME3 (we all hope by our side but if not how is she fighting the Reapers?)
- Where does she end up post ME3 if she survives?
That being said it's not all about numbers since joke threads can build up fast as well without saying nothing. Also I doubt Bioware counts posts to figure out which characters deserve screen time. Still talking about Kasumi with other fans is the next best thing to actually getting news on her right. So let's have at it!
. But is she fighting the reapers? Wha tcan a thief-even an awesome one like Kasumi- Do against techno zombies and licing warships? Most she can do is steal some supplies from indoctrinated Cerberus troops and supply some colonies, but I think she is more likely to just support another former crew member. Maybe her fosrter sister Tali. Imagine Kasumi Zorah vas Neema heh.[*]Easy. With Shepard. Or perhaps the last we will see about her is visitingh Keiji's grave. I think he has one, even if it is a memorial, without a body under it. If she will not live with Shep, I think she'll retire and live a peaceful life back on Eart......[*].....Untill they annonunce a huge exhibition

You know what I wish we could do? I wish there was an option to set up a character's weapon slots so that they can dual wield pistols or something. I can see Kasumi dual wielding a set of Phalanx or maybe two Locust.

Hmm. Just googled Kasumi and there's not a lot of stuff beyond the ME wiki page. Just various reviews guides etc on the whole DLC. That got me thinking of the following tagline.
Kasumi: She's the best squadmate in the game, not the most famous.
If someone made a banner of that I'd "wear it"

There were a few things that were stolen. The bust for one and one of the paintings I think. There may've been more. Also I doubt she built a bar in a ship that for all she knew was only a temporary setup. More likely that observation deck was always a lounge with a bar and what appears to be some kind of recreational machine (video game terminal?) Maybe she finds killing people for money distasteful? She'd also be great at espionage but maybe she dislikes that too. She is a thief by choice. But I wish we'd stay away from daddy issues though there's already enough characters with those (Miranda, Jacob, Garrus). Also she loves being a thief so I don't know if being forced to cut it as a street urchin would work since that could very well be the most miserable part of her life. I think she lived a normal middle class life with her grandmother (the only family she mentions) but she either got bored of it and started stealing for thrills or began doing so when her grandmother passed away. Regardless of which she was old enough, a teenager at least. One day she stole something of value from a wise ninja master who despite catching her was impressed with her skills and offered to train her how to be truly invisible. Basically since I took her on just about every mission and always talked to her afterwards I began to see Kasumi as the squadmate Shepard depends on most. Everyone does their job and Shepard trusts them all after a time. But not the same way as he does Kasumi (even the ME1 gang. Garrus is too bitter about his lost squad and too lost in his calibrations and Tali just sprung this adoration on him and he's not sure what to do with it). In my mind Kasumi's ability to read people and the way you helped her with the graybox showed her Shepard is a kindred spirit and can be trusted and for Shepard's part, he relies more and more on her, not just for the mission but also in observing the rest of Normandy's crew. She's his eyes, ears and right hand. This is beautifully exempified on Jack's recruitment mission: "I'd take the offer honey. Otherwise things turn bad for you. Fast".
