Okay, curiousities up and running....what's 'Darker than Black'? A series in America? It always miffs me that Australia is made to wait so long on good shows....the first season of 'Game of Thrones' is due to hit Australia in March, hasn't it been out for something like two years already in America?....Jason Momoa........*sigh*....
A very stylish anime series, amazing action and decent story. Think X-men meets Mission Impossible. You've got conspiracies involving individuals with super powers. Those who fight each other do so because of the agendas of their respective governments/organizations.
And game of Thrones is a pretty faithful send up of the 1st book....oh...
....okay....thank you though Seracen, much appreciated....
.
Now before anyone goes....GASP! HORROR! SIN!.......over my dislike of Anime', just keep in my mind I am an old duck....
....and there are just some things I just can't seem to grasp in the modern world like Anime and Manga...hang on a tic, just gotta go light the oil lanterns and fit my whale bone corset....
.
Will mention it to hubby though, he likes Anime....tis' young at heart....
Well, there are series for people between 18 and 40. And not just hentai. But serioulsly there ar every good stuf f there. I personally despise romantic BS-es with Richard Geere and the like, but I was really rooting for Kallen and Lelouche in Code Geass, and just loved the romance in Full Metal Panic. Somehow japanese can make things work for you that are actually agaisnt your nature. And hey, Kasumi is japanese

Try watching some non-R-rated anime. There is a lot more to the medium than tentacle-porn. Actually, back in the 80's when western media was still barely giving us female heroines worth watching (Ripley, Sarah Connor, Scully) anime had quite a few action heroines. I also liked that it sometimes had screaming girls in pink robots who could still save the day.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind was given good treatment by Disney, under the urging of John Lasseter (Pixar). It's a postapocalyptic eco-fairy tale with a strong, compassionate heroine and some of the best flying sequences ever animated.
Rurouni Kenshin is a boys' anime, so it's not particularly progressive, but it does have some great female characters. It's a quasi-historical action dramedy with a wonderful ensemble cast. In the late 1800's a former swordsman tries to atone for his bloody past by wandering Japan doing good deeds. Kenshin may look like a girl, but he can kick butt, and if you lock him in a dirty shed, he'll clean it before escaping. Season 2 mixes drama, slapstick comedy, tragedy, pathos, action, love, revenge, ninjas and redemption into a heady mix.
Fruits Basket is all-out girls' anime, so it's got a cute and slightly dim heroine who likes to do housework. It's bizarre and hilarious at times and absolutely heartbreaking at others. I don't think I've seen a TV show since that made me laugh, cry and squee as much as this one. The first episode is pretty slow, with the major conceit of the show (a cursed shape-changing family) not showing up until the final 30 seconds.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is not one of my personal favorites, but if you want a FemShep-like kick-ass female cyborg cop, Major Kusanagi fits the bill. Her fashion sense could use some work, though.
Umm, back to your regularly scheduled Kasumi Goto.

At the very least you two should watch the Mass Effect anime when it comes out. I would send Casey Hudson to the doctor if they exclude Kasumi form that.
That may be an exception then. After all I liked the Animatrix and that was pretty much all anime. I'm just not interested in the genre itself though I will give some individual works a chance if the subject matter interests me.

Unfortunately from what I understood from that thread was just people speculating over who should be a perma squaddie and Kasumi was mentioned a few times...I don't think it was a leak just a few feeling she should be....Mechler wrote...
Dunno where they got it from but people from one of the threads(which ME2 character to replace ME3 squad ithink) seem to take it for granted that Kasumi is a perma squadie. Wishful thinking, or new leak?
