I done a paragon playthrough recently and saved Sidonis. I really felt quite sorry for him  
I'll be interested to see if the way you deal with Garrus' loyalty mission affects anything in ME3...

Saving Sidonis might have a nod in 3 the way many 1 quests get a nod in 2. Example: in one of my play thoughs I didn't kill Fist, in 2 he was at Omega and whined that it was all my fault =P

Ah Sidonis, another one of the cavalcade of reasons that I can't bring myself to play renegade, I watched the video on youtube, and then felt guilty for the guy who shot him in the video.

Sidonis said he will "make it up to Garrus" somehow. Do I sense epic rescue in ME3?

I mean, if he was part of the team, he has to be of some use in combat.

Oh but it's so worth it, It's a brilliant peice of literature, it is easily a thousand times better than the acctual mass effect books that bioware publishes.
