Uh, no thanks.  My Shepard doesn't have time for testosterone contests.  (Or whatever its equivalent in turians.)  She'd kick them both off the Normandy and tell them she'd see them after the Reapers are dead.

I agree.

If they can't behave themselves, then they're of the ship. Or locked in a room 'til they have stopped arguing. Or finished to test their flexibility or whatevs.

And you've just made the mythical Kaidan/Garrus slashers very happy.

(No, I'm not one of them.)

Wait a minute how does an arguement turn into that? Weird, hate sex?

It's called fanfiction. And it can be really good or really scarey!

You've uh... heard of Fenders, right?

would somebody PLEASE explain to me why would they romance a character they hate? becasue my little mind just cannot wrap itself around that concept.

Who is doing that?

Meh, it's just an excuse to bash other LI's.  Specifically, Kaidan.  But hey, guess I should be used to that in this thread since it seems to be a recurring issue.

That's too bad. I think each LI has thier own flavor. To each their own, I say. I personally have had my Sheps romance Kaidan, Garrus, Thane, Tali, Liara,  Miranda, Samara (or tried to:D),  and Jack.

I've enjoyed them all for different reasons, and oddly enough, have had a love/hate relationship with some depending on how I roleplay my Shep. :)

I will say I do tend to favor Kaidan and Garrus. Kaidan is just plain awesome, and Garrus is so darn adorkable it isn't even funny. Those are my two favorite romances by far. <3

It's sad to see that people feel the need to bash other characters.

Thank you.

As far as Garrus and Kaidan fighting goes, I think this picture says it all for me. I think they'd probably give each other dirty looks and maybe make snide comments directed at each other, but wouldn't actually start fighting. There is too much else at stake, and they know not to let feelings get in the way of teamwork.
I don't think it will be addressed much in-game though because there is so much more going on.

No, and 2 google searches and a trip to the urban dictionary didn't explain it. What is it exactly?

Edit: Also I hope you guys realise I was kidding when I said I wanted to see them fight it out, I don't actually want to see that. As for kaiden... well...  I'll try not to bash any more characters consdering some of you are fan of him.

Fenris and Anders in DA2 are two characters diametrically opposed to one another and bicker incessently when they're in your party.  So, of course, that means they're really, truly secretly in love with one another.  ie, Fenders.

Fenders, if I'm not mistaken, is Fenris + Anders from Dragon Age 2. Two characters that hate each other... alot....
Some people ship these two like there's no tomorrow. I don't see it, but whatever. :)

Maybe not, but at least I don't think Garrus will be hitting the medigel when no one's looking. I can imagine canon!Shep trying to play it cool till she's out of sight and then being like "OHGODMYHEADMAKEITSTOP* *Medigel* :D It makes me giggle every time, especially if I imagine Garrus giving her a mild ration of crap about it.  (She's much happier solving her problems with a sniper rifle, soI can't imagine her being like Vangard or Soldier Shep and just headbutting the crap out of that Krogan sans consequences. ;) )

ETA: gentle teasing about making the sign against evil when Fenders gets brought up. I'm not a fan of slash in general, but  I have no problem with those who are. :)

I also don't hate either Kaidan or Anders - I just can't bring myself to romance either one. (Kaidan is just too...I dunno. Naive? It's hard to put my finger on it exactly, but I don't hate him for it. *shrug*. And how that's different from Alistair I don't know, but yeah, Alistair was my gateway 'drug'. ;) )

That's so adorable! :D

On another note, lately i am kind of curious about the Turian Councilor, but i can't seem to find any official info about the name of the Turian Councilor, aside from Emily Wong, who stated a Councilor Velarn, which sounds like a turian name O_O

And i also saw this on a certain fanfiction, is this true? O:

"(Note: Just in case anyone reading this doesn't know, the fact that Councillor Velarn has a mistress was revealed in the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC.)"

Umm, I know this is a bit random, but I'm the one who wrote that fic. The infodrone (the shiny ball shaped robot) that floats around the Shadow Broker's lair sometimes tells Shepard that the turian councillor's mistress has made some odd purchases lately and may be expecting to move into a bigger mansion. Although I don't think it actually names the councillor as Velarn. I just presumed that he was called that because of Emily Wong's report.

There's info on the drone here  masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Shadow_Broker_Base (sorry if the link doesn't work properly. I'm not sure how to make it clickable!).

Hope that helps!

Totally agree, lol.

On the Kaidan subject, I can see what you mean about the naive thing.  I don't see that as much in ME 1, but definitely see it in ME 2 during his temper tantrum. I could never bring myself to romance Liara because I couldn't get past her constantly being on the verge of fainting (I don't really go for the damsels in distress :)). I liked Kaidan enough in ME 1 but then he did a total 180 in ME 2 that made me not feel guilty at all romancing someone else.  The only way I can see myself going back to him is if Garrus did a 180 in ME 3.   I can't see this happening, but then again, I would have never picture Kaidan going boyscout and blowing me off.   I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Will we get to meet Solona Vakarian? (in the SB's dossiers)

I like the fact that they aren't a family of political kingpins or something, but rather a lower-middle class family trying to get by. Liara is the daughter of the one of the most powerful Asari ever to live. Zaeed owned the Blue Suns. Grunt was created by a Warlord, etc etc etc.

Wanted to comment on this because I really, really agree.  I've seen comments or critiques about Garrus as a character before, what with him "just being some random turian sniper" when he could be a turian General, or a Spectre, or the Kwisatz Haderach...  *insert eyeroll GIF here*  Not everyone has to be a Super Special Snowflake™.

As you stated, Liara is the Shadowbroker, Kaidan/Ashley is now the second (and possibly only) human Spectre, Tali is a Quarian Princess, Grunt is the perfect krogan, Wrex is the krogan grand supreme poobah...it just goes on & on.  Granted, the goal of ME2 was to search out the best of the best, but it gets a bit ridiculous at times with people's expectations for the characters in ME3 (example: a good amount of people seem to think Tali is qualified for/guaranteed a seat on the Admiralty Board by ME3 - and I guarantee you much ****ing will be heard if she isn't at least offered the position).

I like that Garrus just happens to be a really good cop who was in the right place at the right time to get involved in Shepard's mad adventures.

Who wants to see Garrus go on his own calibrating adventure? A single-player campaign that shows Garrus calibrating Omega, The Citadel, Illium, The Normandy, and so on.

And for multiplayer: Rush Calibration! Race to calibrate the nodes in the bases before the enemy team does! Also, Mech Assault Calibration! Calibrate the mech before the enemy does and devastate the battlefield with your calibrating skills!

Wow I really do agreee with you so much on that.

I see here and there people who think that Garrus doesnt bring enough to the storyline because hes not at the head of some big organisation or representing his entire race. Actually I find that refreshing and I believe it makes its part of what makes him so reliable for Shepard. Just like him/her, hes facing unexpected events and has to rise to the occasion and make tough choices. Its a bit of a reactionary position but its the same as the player (something happens, you react to it). im not surprised Garrus is the best bro for many many Shepards because hes really there for them instead of bringing his own agenda. 'Questgiver' characters and 'people with a mission' are very important in a RPG but so are the ones the players can relate to , characters who share the player situation and surprise at how events unfold. I dont think theres many of them in ME. There was the VS in ME1 but he/she bails on you in ME2.

So Garrus really has a 'niche' role in the ME series and hes doing it pretty well ^_^

I think it's because Kaiden takes on something more of a submissive role around her while Garrus is considered more of an equal. I know that I wished back in ME1 that Kaiden would take on more of a masculine demeanor that Garrus exuded.
Kaided DID get more manly in ME2. I just wished that Shepard was not on the receiving end of his backbone.
But then, I was mad at him for Horizon because I do know what it's like to lose a loved one. Ironic, isn't it?
