Color me intrigued. I just read the Priestly post about it - and as long as it is optional, I'll be happy to give it  a shot, though I'm curious whether hubby and I will have to register 2 XBox copies to play.

i dont know..... the only multiplayer BioWare game I ever played was Baldurs Gate... which was specifically made for multiplayer. the ME universe doesn't really seem to lend itself to that.
to me.... Mass Effect is all about my Shepard and the decisions that she/he makes. More specifically, the decisions that I make through her. seems like adding more people to that.... just doesn't fit. seems almost like you'll be a sidekick.

.... i dunno. i don't like change, and this is a HUGE change. again, I know it will be my option, but it means a different gameplay style. it means adding things into the game that are necessary for a multiplayer game that don't fit into a single player game.

or maybe i'm just being nitpicky and stupid and just having a serious fear of my favorite game changing. *sighs* its the same reason that I refuse to watch the fourth season of Torchwood. i dont like change.

It IS a big change to get used to...where's that turian ladies thread? With this recent news, it needs a bump.

edit: Just another quick edit to say that it's at least pretty cool that we'll get the option to play as aliens, even though I'm not a multiplayer kind of player.  I hope it turns out well.

To be fair though, the fourth season of Torchwood wasn't that great.  I liked Esther, Jilly and Vera, but wasn't so hot on Rex and Oswald.

I understand what you mean, truthfully i am quite against this change as well. Mass Effect isn't really a first person shooter game like Battlefield 3, it isn't really suited for multiplayer. The charm from the role-playing is what attracts people to play(in my opinion). I sincerely hope that this does not alter the story mode gameplay in anyway(Technically it shouldn't!), i have high expectations for it >_<

Although on a brighter note, assuming if there is indeed character customization for multiplayer mode, hopefully we get to customize a turian character just like Nihlus

sums up my feelings on mp. but I have faith they will do it right, just some side co-op missions specific to mp and won't effect the single player experience we've invested so much in

I'm not having high hopes for the multiplayer, but I'm still interested how BW's gonna pull this.

And I don't really have any friends who plays ME, so I'll probably grab some people from here.

Me neither so if it's practicaly possible to play multiplayer from the PC I may have to ask if my fellow Garrus fans wants to play some multiplayer.

We will have to wait and see if it's anything worth bothering with of course, but still... If we can play as a costumable turian this is me:

The romanceable alien species in the game so far has shown to adhere to the same sexual dimorphism as humans.

I think it's quite comparable.  For one thing, we have no idea how sexuality or sexual-intercourse works for other species in-game other than Turians do have males and females eithin the species.  HOWEVER, I wouldn't be so apt to pull out the stop for sexual-dimorphism being the reason why Garrus wouldn't have a relationship with another male.  What I was suggesting is that Garrus is flexible enough to have a relationship with someone outside of his species, so therefor, how can we be sure he's not also flexible enough to try something with another male?

Garrus's sexuality has never been explicitly stated; we only know that he shows interest in females.  That doesn't automatically rule out males as another possible interest.  How many bisexual men do you know of that openly state and show interest in men to their friends, families, and co-workers?  There are some, but most do not openly express it due to society's trouble with fully accepting ALL sexual-prefrences.

The only one who can truly answer the question if Garrus is interested in other males or not is Garrus himself... or the people who write his story and dialogue for the game.  There's a possibility that BioWare will make more characters, male and female, bisexual in Mass Effect 3 to save on disc-space/hard-drive space, because it is easier and uses less memory than to create new characters just to fill the role for a gay/lesbian relationship.  (They did it with the Dragon Age games.)

I'm not so sure about the co-op, I know I'll have someone to play it with, but even still I'm not particularly thrilled. If I'm honest I'm much more interested in the "Galaxy At War" thing:

It's probably nothing what I wany it to be, but it made me think about what it could be, and it made me realise how much I want a intergalactic fleet command game (like Freespace, Privateer or the X-series) set in the mass effect universe where you play as the turian/alliance/asari fleets and battle the reapers. It's never ever going to happen because mass effect is a game developed for console in mind and those kinds of game don't work on console due to lack of input, but god I want that so much!!

It's never going to happen. Have they confirmed what galaxy at war is yet? Because right now it sounds like a facebook game.

... I miss doing missions with Garrus. Played through ME2 a few times now, and was hoping for a DLC that featured Garrus, similar to the Shadowbroker one (that featured Liara).

...How about it, Bioware? ... Would love to visit a taurian colony or the homeworld....

Think you will have to wait for ME3, they did mention that Arrival is the last DLC for ME2

Perhaps the multiplayer can be quite a good thing then as it gives me a opportunity to play and chat with my fellow Garrus fans.

Sorry to say, but Garrus will be dull and boring in ME3 because Bioware spent all their resources into multiplayer instead of giving garrus dialogue.
