EDIT: Ah, that explains it. The voice actor isn't South African. He's Canadian. So, he's trying to have a South African accent. He does a decent Scottish accent, though since he also voiced Kenneth.

Speaking of Scottish accents there's an interview with Mordin's VA (can't remember his name sorry) and he tries to do an Irish accent but ends up sounding almost exactly like Carson Beckett from Stargate Atlantis.

And speaking of Stargate Atlantis does anyone else think they should get Christopher Heyerdahl (Todd the most awesome wraith in the world) to voice a turian?

I love gabby and ken but his accent is really  bad. Then again an engineer with an iffy scottish accent is mandatory on all starships.

It's not so horrible that you can't distinguish where it's supposed to be from, but it's obviously not from a true Scotsman.

That's a great suggestion - Chris Heyerdahl is so cool, no matter if he's Todd the wraith or Druitt from Sanctuary. He has a great voice!

Turians just have the best Voice Actors ever. They all sound so damn sexy! It is that rumble...

Funny you should ask - Gideon Emery (Fenris/Gavorn/etc) has a mini-album on iTunes called Standard Ease. It's been mentioned a time or two on the Fenris thread.   I can't say I've seen anything by Brandon Keener or any of the others, but...

Emery is phenomenal as Balthier in Final Fantasy XII. Steals the show. Which is good because his character is a thief. Heh. Eh-heh. Eh.

Anyway, ever since then he's been up near the top of my 'favorite VAs' list.

But on the other hand we know what effect missiles have on turian handsomness from Garrus Omega incident. That's right, a rocket to the face didn't kill him, instead it only increased his manlyness and handsomness.

I still don't buy the Nihlus is dead theory. *shrugs*  its me and denial. I'm still convinced that Ianto is alive too. 

also, dear lord if a turian ever sang to me, i'd probably die.   TECHNO TURIAN's dancing comes pretty close to killing me often enough... if we were to add dancing to that list.... well....  yeah. 

and  I always forget that Emery was in FF. considering I stopped playing after FFX.

So saying Nihlus faked his own death, changed his look and then when someone suspects something isn't right, he just starts dancing? That is brilliant!

Also Dragon age is not jrpg, bioware is canadian, and FFX was brilliant, screw the haters! Sometimes I put on that game just to watch the intro cinematic!
