Wait, wasn't there a page somewhere that stated that turians are usually stronger unless the human is in top shape to match them?
Not that strength alone determines a match. Seeing Femshep down 2 turian thugs with just a knee and a nerve punch makes one wonder...

FemShep isn't your average human. She took classes on turian anatomy to know where to strike them where irt hurts; to cause the most amount of damage w/ as little force as possible.

Plus she’s got all the fancy upgrades. Although I remember Anderson head butting a turian in ME1 which made me think he's got a metal plate in there or something.

Somebody should ask who is stronger physically, Garrus or Vega?

Intellectually Garrus, physically probably Vega. Garrus seems to be more of the "long range-hail mary" sniper, not a CQB type of guy.

Wasn't he the top ranked hand-to-hand combat specialists on 'that one ship'? Besides that spec-ops turian lady who hated his guts?

Ah! Very true! How could I have forgotten!?

-10 Garrus points for me.

You aren't missing much. FFX was the last good jrpg that I've played in a long time.

This is very, very true. FFVIII was amazing, then FFX was the icing on the cake.

Then we got FFXIII and I died a little on the inside. If only Square had managed to put Brandon Keener in there somehow, that would have at least made it tolerable.

Everyone skips over FFIX. :crying: It's such a wonderful game.

Anyway..Garrus VS Vega is difficult to determine as we know little about Vega so far, but my bet is on Garrus. Vega could be a good challenge for him, but Garrus is more experienced and, of course, an expert with hand-to-hand. Vega looks to me like he could be slower moving. I don't know, I have never been very good at judging things like that. I'm..also biased towards Garrus. It's hard to have a fair opinion when he's in the mix. :D

Out of curiousity, is there any proof pointing that Garrus is indeed more experienced than Vega?

Hmm..I think I just assumed that he was fairly new to the Alliance..like he's served a few years, but is doing really well. Plus he has a young face, but I am probably way off. I didn't really think that all the way through. :o For all I know he has more experience. But Garrus has his turian military training and stuff too.

I just want to ask, in terms of the whole garrus vs vega debate, is it cannon that turians have hollow bones like birds do? I remember reading that somewhere, although I'm not sure if it's canon or just fanon. If it is canon then wouldn't that through the scales in vega's favour considerably?

I think it's just fanon. There's no mention of hollow bones on the wiki. Of course, someone from BioWare could have mentioned they have hollow bones, but I would hope someone would update the wiki if they had.

Now you mention it, I am sure there was an article mentioned about that on the Cerberus Daily News one time...

I think Vega is more like a ME1 Garrus, damn good at what he does but still a bit of a rookie. Garrus however is a hardened veteran and Shepards equal after ME2. So yeah, Garrus wins. But this is of course just my Garrus colored fanboy brains way of seeing things.

Not sure if anyone saw this news yet. Personally, i am not getting BF3 just to test it out, pre ordering Mass Effect 3 should give us that option as well!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't birds have hollow bones to make flight easier? Turians don't fly, and if they ever had avian ancestors, I'd think they'd have evolved past that.

I agree there. VIII-IX-X-XII are among my favourite FFs (VI completes the set). I really wasn't too overwhelmed by VII. But I did greatly enjoy XII as well (and this despite Vaan and Penelo). Unfortunately, it was then followed by XIII Image IPB

Whale still have pelvises. Completely useless, no purpose. Has been that way for thousands and thousands of years.

I doubt turian would evolve that fast.

Humans have also retained their pinky toes from when they were lesser primates, turians are only about 2000 years ahead of humanity. We don't climb trees anymore, but we still retain that from our primate ancestors.

Good points. Although I still think hollow bones for a non-flying species would be a more handicapping trait to retain than pinky toes. Especially since they seem to value physical violence and hand-to-hand combat, at least as a form of stress release. Wouldn't that be more dangerous if they had hollow bones?

Not a marine biologist and too lazy to Google it, but does the whale pelvis stll serve as an attachment point for muscles dealing with the flukes?  The reason I mention that is yes, humans have a 'vestigial' tail in our last vertebrae, but those bones anchor some very important muscles, so they still do serve a purpose even if we can no longer use our tails to swing from trees or show emotions.

I think it could depend on the G-load on Palaven too, though I get the idea it isn't an absurdly high-G world from the turians in the game in general.

Or maybe turians can still fly, and Garrus just flutters about the forward gun room tweeting when Shepard's not around.

*snicker* More than one meaning to the name "Archangel" then.

I don't know why that mental image is so funny but it is.

Well Harbringer is a total fanboy for humans, especialy Shepard, so his opinion in the matter is quite biased.
