As for flying Garrus he is from a cheap spinoff comic that you shouldn't bother reading.

Wow, which comic is that?
I know that image shows up in the Genesis DLC - not sure if it's anywhere else though.

In that case they have probably filled their hollow bones with something (terminator skeleton, adamantium or concentrated badassness perhaps)to become more durable. The wonders of science makes up for some physical disadvantages.Nilfalasiel wrote...

Whale still have pelvises. Completely useless, no purpose. Has been that way for thousands and thousands of years.
I doubt turian would evolve that fast.
Humans have also retained their pinky toes from when they were lesser primates, turians are only about 2000 years ahead of humanity. We don't climb trees anymore, but we still retain that from our primate ancestors.
Good points. Although I still think hollow bones for a non-flying species would be a more handicapping trait to retain than pinky toes. Especially since they seem to value physical violence and hand-to-hand combat, at least as a form of stress release. Wouldn't that be more dangerous if they had hollow bones?

Well I'm no doctor, but common sense tells me that that would be excrutiatingly painful, and I doubt the average turian would under go that, I mean the gene-mods that human soldiers get, that's understandible, but filling your bones with metal? Really?

The average turian is expected to be ready for war and for that more durable limbs are a practical thing. Turians often use rather brutal and painfull methods but there is no reason for pain at all, many real life humans walk around with bones full of titanium and it doesn't bother them much. It wouldn't suprise me if even civilian turians are full of enhancementsBubbleSauce wrote...

like bone enhancement even if they had solid bones to start with.
But since turians are heavier than humans I think it's more realistic that they have developed even stronger bones through evolution since they need to survive their own weight.

There is no reason for pain? You're suggesting that injecting a searing hot molten metal directly into the bone and then setting it to solidify wouldn't be painful? Also, isn't the very process of injecting and extracting substances from within the bone extremely painful as it is? From what I've heard, a bone marrow transplant, is one of the most excruciatingly painful things to undergo without sedation, now, maybe that is for other reasons, and if it is, I'd happily be educated by someone who is more medically inclined as to what they are, but even still, the statement still stands, it's not going to be a painless procedure. And even still filling you bones with metal is a little excessive. And where is there any proof of Turians using brutal and painful methods to enhance their combat profinciency? I haven't seen any as of yet, could you direct me to where you read this?
Also, which humans do this exactly?! I've heard of people replacing bones in their body with metal ones because they have to, but I've never heard of someone filling their bones with titanium!

They use brutaly efficent methods in their society, such as total war and settling grudges in the ring like Garrus and his flexible girlfriend did. So it seems to me like pain is not a big deal in the turian culture.
Now you are exhagerating what I said. What I meant was that metal in bones are not a big deal in todays real life. A more technicaly and medicaly advanced culture should have even less problems. They know something very practical that we haven't thought of yet, that is how development works.

Well, you are right, replacing your bones with a metal substitute is a fairly normal procedure now-a-days, however that isn't what you said. What you said was "In that case they have probably filled their hollow bones with something" you then cited the examples "terminator skeleton, adamantium" which are both metals, fictional though they may be. I know what you mean now but I can assure you, replacing bones with metal is very differant to filling them with metal.

That's not really applicable at all, their tendency to settle things over a fight rather than usuing words is not evidence that they do not care about being hurt, and it's a comepletely differant situatation, with comepletely differant levels of pain being afflicted in both cases. As for "Total War" there are two occurances that we know of in Turian history of total war, so saying that their entire race is completely open to the idea is not fair at all. We know of more instances of total war in human history and since we don't have a complete note of turian history, we can't say that the turians are any more prone to it than humans are. And agian that's hardly applicable. Willingness to go to war is not the same as pain threshhold.

If male turians can bring female humans to orgasm with their flanging, hot voices, what will turian females sound like? Will they have sexy accents that put Tali to utter shame?

And doesn't Joker have hollow bones? That's why he's so breakable, I thought. I don't think Turians look that breakable, but then again, they have an exoskeleton..so it's plausible that their inner-bones don't need to be as strong..it would make them lighter/faster.

Alot of people say "why is Garrus a whiner when his life isn't even that bad?" Well, it is, but the game doesn't let you know that. He brought up his squad on Omega, but didn't mention they had been together for 2 years on the run, likely sharing drinks every night. He doesn't mention his family, or that they are poor, or how his father is disappointed in him, or how his mom is sick.
Filling hollow bones achievable with current human science, turians could do it undoubtedly. Garrus can drop down 35 feet when he goes to look at Saren's corpse below the council's chamber. Can't do that with birdy bones and a set of armor.
