Anderson in the opening of ME3.
Though from what Ive seen - he's outfit changed and he no longer has the hat.
Which sucks, i actually liked what he had on. Suited him well.

That's Anderson? Did they alter his character design? His head seems a slightly different shape


Also, space potato? I noticed his head did have a bit of a potato shape to it in the first two games

He also doesn't have eyes or a shoulder in that view.

 Wow no carapace...interesting   I know the animators have been debating on whether or not turians have one so I guess they finally decided!

I got a question if anyone could please answer... do turians really call their romantic partners 'mates' or is this just from fanfiction???  I've been confused

I'm still in the "carapace" camp.  The concept art was to get the inside of the shell right.

Garrus without the turtle shell is not Garrus.

But I do see the shoulder...It's transparent, but it's there. And I don't see how it effects his back or neck...

So that means.....

Well that ONE turian at the omega bar says it, when he talks about leaving his mate so it's fair to assume that's what they call their partners

I don't mind either way as long as the romance is awesome.

I will still love him with a carapace. If anything, I think it signifies that turians are a more alien species, and look the part. I also think it makes the romance have more meaning, that despite not being humanoid, they will be together because of a mutual trust and a strong bond between them.

Just my thoughts though, no need to go spreading it around

High five.  Their armor is shaped like that, so I just assumed their bodies pretty much were shaped like that too.  That undressed turian concept art from a long time ago shows a carapace, and since most...what BW developers have called "questionable fanart" shows Garrus with a carapace, I have a hard time picturing him without.
