Im bringing back a classic of mine since we're all talking bout ME1. This happened to me during my 100% completion playthru i did in the summer. Gentleman Garrus is a gentleman.

Saren is having his daily diarrhea, I see.

@Pyn: NICE title. It has a good ring to it.
Saren, Nihlus, and ME1 Garrus - that's three reasons! But Saren's the main reason why I won't mind replaying the same MaleShep yet again. Poor Tali has to wait a long time for him.Obsydian wrote...
Regarding ME... I've tried so many times to go back and replay it. and every time I do... I'm wondering WHY I'm not playing ME2. I loved ME, don't get me wrong... but ME2 was far and away a better game. The story in ME1 was better though. so its hard.
This is the only way to be certain. In Liara's case, it also works to recruit her last (after Virmire). I haven't had any problems turning down Kaidan, and the subject of romance never even came up with my MaleShep and Ashley, but for Liara, a few people have told me that the glitch is with the bottom-right "not interested" line, and the middle-right "just friends" option should work. Unfortunately, it seems like different games have different romance glitches.Chewin3 wrote...

Is there anything specific to avoid when trying to do a "non-romanced" ME1 PT? Canon!Shep is intended for Garrus ("saving yourself for Garrus" was how hubby put it). I'm pretty good at spotting the romance starters, but I also have heard you can get ninjamanced by Kaidan and Liara.
The best way is just to avoid them.
I'll have to read this.Pyn wrote...
my take on the "truths" behind stuff; reposting cover with text. Fanfic itself tends to start a bit in the middle but will reveal past-stuff soon after
um... besides needing more shep/saren fanfics out there...
well, a sort of bridge between ME2 and ME3
also fill in the gaps; other gaps (maybe some before ME1?) ((fShepxSaren//fShepxGarrus; sure I like Garrus but prefer Saren more...))
Follows: comics (Redemption & Evolution), books (only read Revelation through), & games+ all dlc ((nevermind genises interactive comic) (more fun to me to do Arrival dlc after Suicide Mission)
All I'll say is: Saren & Sovereign are not gone (still "alive"), consider for a moment: Normandy crash site dlc, it's in pieces yet still has working parts - lights blinking, so whats to say that Sovereign even in pieces isn't working?
I'm jealous. My MaleShep was mean to Liara towards the end, especially in this scene and she still wouldn't let him break up with her. o_o At least I got to have a proper ragequit...ArcanaLegacy wrote...
Theres a way to break it off! Its quite mean, but its the only way to do it if u already are that far into it.
Its during the locker scene when the normandy is on lock down in the citadel. Choose the renegade options and its called off. Trust me in works. Kaiden dont show up for the romance scene at all.

I still get chills when I see pics of Saren sometimes.
Great, great villain.
1- Good luck to ya in that. I know what its like. I did 100% of EVERYTHIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG in that game. I even used a side quest locator guide to make sure i didnt miss one. It does take time.VioletDrops wrote...
I'm trying not the rush it now, and 1)taking my time for sidequests. Which is hard, because I want my BA Garrus in ME2. 2) I just can't get myself to playing Renegade, I'm not sure why.. I'm always Good/Kind/Paragon in games, and even as a roleplay character, I just feel too bad, haha. 3) I've heard about a glitch that even when you don't 'consumate' the relationship with Liara/Kaiden it still 'counts'.. so I really hope they just 'back off', haha.
2- Same here. I never really play full on renegade. In me1 - i was pretty much paragon, but in me2 im a big time paragade. Im totally kind to my crew/allies. Im sometimes rude to my enemies in that dialog wheel and i did do like 2-3 renegade decisions on some LMs XP And i LOVE the interrupts. I used just about all of them. Headbutt a krogan = priceless.
I love how sometimes hitting someone makes me paragon. [Hitting Zaeed and Archer] NICE!
My Shep is just a good friend to her crew - but wont think twice about pushing a merc thru a glass window to his death LOL!
3- You have no idea >.< They wont. They pretty much want what they cant have XP

Ugh, I guess I'm stuck with Kaiden now, because he was talking about he was looking forward to some alone time (or something along those lines) and all I could say was "me too" in 3 different styles ;DNot true Violet! And fear not Ursula! Theres a way to break it off! Its quite mean, but its the only way to do it if u already are that far into it.UrsulaCousland wrote...

I mostly liked the ME1 gameplay. After spending about an hour trying to sort through all of my MaleShep's upgrades, I managed to create a shotgun that could blow back the geth (and anything near them) while setting them on fire, and one-shot killing them. When combined with Lift, it was raining flaming geth all around Feros. As long as I can shoot them before Garrus... but I imagine he and my Vanguard had a little contest going.Obsydian wrote...
Yeah, Kim... i know. Like i said. the story is why i will play ME1. but the gameplay sucks. and yeah. the turians. *sighs* Nihlus and Saren are all the reason I need.
Maybe. Someone with better photoshop skills than mine should try to find out.ReconTeam wrote...
A question that has bothered me for an eternity:
Could a turian pull off a military beret look? Most people can't do that.

Why play ME1? :0
I've played it all the way through 9 times! Sure, I managed to play Baldur's Gate 2 through 52 times, but I've only managed twice for ME2. There's plenty of good reasons, I'm sure you've just forgotten!
- Story. Because ME2 doesn't really have any outside of the characters (of which only Mordin ties into the main plot anyway)
- Music. Virmire ride, you know it ;D Oh, and the flux music. Doot doot de doot!
- Atmosphere. Okay, a bit subjective. I never felt much for places like Freedom's Progress or Horizon though, whereas Feros (and Noveria in parts) was creepy as hell and despite everything at stake in ME2 I don't think any of the missions reached the tension of Virmire.
- Gameplay ? Well, okay, it's not as sharp and refined as ME2. But I enjoyed kitting out my squads in entirely different setups with various mods and trying stuff out. Also, the power use is tactical rather than spam.
- Citadel. Back when it was huge and there was loads to do! It felt a bit like coming back home after a mission.
- The Mako. Because as much as it handled like a blob of polystyrene, it was more interesting than a lot of those rather daft 2 minute side-missions. Also I liked how it split up the main missions too.
- Udina getting slapped. Oof! Oh yeah.
- Liara going crazy if you leave her mission until last. Because it's too funny not to mention.
- Team pep talks! For some reason Jacob is the only one there to debrief in ME2 (surely this should be Miranda?) and he puts his foot in it half the time, particularly with Tali. I liked it when the team joined together to discuss the situation (sans the silly 'mission complete!' screen), though it did give Liara opportunity to go all possessive over Shepard. Repeatedly.
- Characters. Remember when Garrus was happy and optimistic? What about Nihlus? Who could forget Saren! Then there's Lorik, and Septimus, and Lilihierax and... and... doughnut turian! That turian captain in the ending cinematic who points dramatically!
- AI. Don't you miss all your squad shooting at a wall in that cute fashion? Oh.... wait... err...
More polished experience? ME2. Better game? ME1But yes, it has Saren! Most important.
However, the number of times I've had to pick the renegade option during the normandy lock-down scene is just silly. I guess I'm too nice?
Have a spoiler-free christmas everyone. Unless you want spoilers for christmas!
