I always enjoy the story when I replay ME1 (it’s still amazing) but I wish I could just skip the combat portions now because after playing ME2, it’s just so boring in comparison. I mean I actually want to play insanity when I play ME2 because it’s that sitting on the edge of your seat kind of an adrenaline rush when you do. Yet I’ve NEVER wanted to play an insanity run of ME1 because I didn’t want to extend those shooting parts any more than I had to.
I have to agree with you there. ME2 got more fun with the higher level of difficulty, but ME1 did not. I love the story in ME1 which is why I keep playing it, but the combat in ME2 makes it a much more enjoyable game to play. I've only ever played ME1 on hardcore, and to be honest, for most of the beginning (and middle

I especially appreciated the dialogue in ME1. With each character, and especially the LIs, you get long conversations that provide insight into the character's....uh...character? While I loved Garrus' adorkable romance dialogue, it was always very brief. When I finally did a playthrough where I didn't romance him at all, I was shocked that he had nothing new left to say to me after the post-loyalty "reach and flexibility" conversation. Anyways, my point is that this was one of the great things about ME1 that I hope that they bring back for ME3.
Judging by the spoilers I read, they've definitely taken that into account this time. Even non-romanced shep gets some decent conversations with her friends.

I really couldn't pick between 1 & 2 as to what my favourite is D: Like others, I love ME1s storyline, the dramatic tension, the sense of urgency and the overall vibe, though I wasn't fussed on the combat. Also, lots of awesome turians.
ME2 brought in wicked fun combat, romancable Garrus and being able to continue playing after you finish the final mission.

I'm doing a full replay of my canon Shep (I missed a lot of stuff in ME1 as I kinda rushed through) and now I'm up to ME2 - Oh My God how I miss the Mako! This new fandangled Hammerhead gets on my nerves - two hits and WOOP WOOP WOOP, another hit, BOOM! Critical Mission Failure! I did the mission on Alchera - the Mako looks like its in great condition - nothing Garrus couldn't fix![]()

To be fair to the hammerhead, once you get to grips with it it's not too bad.
The best tactic seems to be to hop from cover to cover and pop out to shoot a few rockets at enemies.
(I still miss just ploughing over anything in my path, mind you.)

Why am I doing this? because I've been getting messages from parties who shall remain anonymous that there are murmurs about possible rumours about suspected benefits of a Garrus only romance... So, I shall sacrifice the level 60 FemShep I'm attempting to finish ME1 with... and we shall see...
Also Obsydian, I agree - the hammerhead was like a kiddie ride at a small town fair. Boring, a little rickety, and prone to breaking down.

So after a long week of constant Mass Effect and fanfiction reading, she drew this, I thought I'd share it with you all.

She's going to draw some more in the future, maybe some pics decidedly less... provocative, depending on feedback.

...my puppy who I named after Saren; his face reminds me of that turian, was interested in my mass effect 2 play Shep, though gave Garrus a certain look.
Few days or so ago when playing ME1 when game mentioned/showed Nihlus he did a sort of "go away-wave/not interested" shoo with his right paw...
cute...

ME2 NPCs need better "pathfinding"...

There is rumours for an only Garrus romance playthrough?! *starts another playthrough with no one previously romanced.* And Garrus officialy pulls ahead in how many romances he has compared to Thane.

Well, that will just have to be worked on, now won't it?

"Explosive shots that connect with bone crushing force"
Anyway, I totally had a Garrus dream, about 15 minutes ago (just woke up, haha).
I was on a ship, probably not the Normandy because it was pretty huge, and I was in the ME3 timeline. The first thing I did was romance Garrus, and everything went okay. Then I bumped into James Vega, and I started romancing him (which is weird.. because I haven't read/seen much about him). Garrus noticed, and was all "wth is this?!", so I had to make the right dialog options to convince him I wanted him, not James. There even was a Renegade interrupt that involved me pushing James over a rail into his doom, but when I tried that I felt bad and "reloaded" the game.
That's when I woke up ;D. I think I've got a problem if I'm dreaming stuff like this.

Before ME2 was released, I had a dream that Shepard was fighting in a room oddly similar to the Collector ship with those moving platforms, and Garrus was a squadmate. This was around the time when everyone on the forums was worried about who would be brought back as a squadmate, and before I knew about the Collectors or any circular battle platforms.
