Garrus is one of my favorite characters in the series (obviously) along with Wrex, Liara, Mordin, Legion, and Miranda and Thane to an extent. He's got that rash yet chill vibe and I love his sense of humor. I just hate how you don't have much to talk about with him in ME2 (calibrations anyone). Can someone tell me if he's got more convo options. Can't wait to use him w/ Liara or Wrex.

...I'm going to go with "Saren was definitely dead when Sovereign took over" because it's less sad. D: This is how I rationalize my MainShep telling her squad to make sure he's dead. She knows it's possible for someone like Saren to survive a bullet to the head, and didn't want him to suffer, but didn't have the heart to shoot him herself. Then Sovereign assumes direct control and basically scars her for life (and death/second-life). It's better if she doesn't have the guilt of "killing" Saren. Poor girl already has the guilt of not being able to save him.

Saren was right about a lot of things...

He's my favorite too. :) And I like Sovereign as a villain. Sovereign was better at inspiring fear in my Shepards than Harbinger. There was that awesome speech on Virmire, and the way they found out through Saren what the Reapers were capable of (most importantly, indoctrination) is enough to make them question their own thoughts. And at least in MainShep's case, Sovereign inspired a lot more rage. Sure, Harbinger abducted the crew... but she didn't know/care about the crew in the same way as Saren, and she blames Sovereign for his death.

I've replayed that ending plenty of times, I had Garrus & Tali with me... For me it's likely the sadder way,

(wouldn't be surprised much if my Shep did somehow make a deal with Sovereign;ME2 renegade eyes/scars are same color-shade as Sovereign red)

I have a question. I am new here and I don't think I will read all 1119 threads of one Garrus forum or even all 219 threads of this one. I am quite certain this questions has been discussed before so if anyone can direct me to what had been said by fans about it, I would be grateful.

Here is the topic. Generally, we know very little about Garrus' family. He is from Palaven, has a 'by the book' father, ect. But in the Lair of Shadowbroker, if it's visited after Omega 4 relay mission in ME2, a conversation between Garrus and his sister, Solana, has beed recorded, which gives away a few interesting clues about his personality and family relationships.

So has it ever been discussed anywhere? :D I would love to read what anyone thinks on that matter...

Thanks.

Isn't his mom suffering from turian Alzheimer's and Garrus is trying to get her cured?

Well, from what I understood, he got some Collector's tissue for a research center to get help for his mom because apparently he cannot pay. I don't know... doesn't Cerberus pay them? :?Poor Shepard's team members if it doesn't... It also mentions his sister. She's a curious character, too. Apparently, him and her are not very similar, quite the opposite, actually. She obviously doesn't approve of his 'adventures', thinks they are unimportant and he's better off being at home.

I do really hope in ME3 we'll see more of Garrus' family relationships. I like how they set up conflicts and not like everything is just great and shiny. Wonder what Garrus' father is doing about it. Meh. Too may questions. They'd better not forget to answer them all. :D

To be fair to his sister, he hasn't told his family exactly what he's been up to and they just think he's been freelancing as an ordinary mercinary, not becoming Turian Batman / getting half his face blown off / saving the galaxy again.

Good point. :) But he is still reluctant to speak about it. Could be out of security purposes or he doesn't think they'd understand with a tad of - I am ashamed of my failures - or everything together. To me, the more complex, the better. :D

I just feel... cheated a bit. An interesting part about his biography ( and a personal conflict) is just barely mentioned in a Shadowbroker DLC. You cannot even talk about it. Esp. as a Fem. Shepard who romanced him...

I imagine Garrus' sister would have reacted differently in that conversation with him had she known what happened. Garrus probably didn't want to worry her about everything he's going through when she's the one taking care of their sick mother.

I've already seen the spoilers, so I can't join in on most of the ME3 speculation about this. ^^; But I'm very happy with what I've read. I'll just leave it at that (unless anyone wants a PM with the Garrus spoilers).

I saw the interview when it first came out, but read through it again because it has such great answers about Saren. :D

I know I haven't been here in a long time (been trying to avoid the forums from spoilers) but I have to ask...

Has anyone ever noticed that in ME2: Lair of the Shadow broker, when that building explodes and you get a reaction/comment from a squadmate, that Garrus is the only one that doesn't say anything in that scene? I've tried it out on the PS3, reloading and mix matching squadmates, but I could not for the life in me get a single reaction from him. I'm not sure whether it's just a glitch from the PS3 or what? Has anyone else gotten a reaction from him? :?

It's a glitch, if I remember right there's a priority list of who gets to say something at that point and he's at the bottom of it, so the other squaddie always gets the line. I believe someone got him to talk by removing the other squadmate and he's supposed to say "should we go in?" or something like that.

It's the same armor he's been wearing in all ME3 screenshots/videos.

How long have you been away, exactly?

I quit coming to the forums about 8 months ago. xD

I got to read the spoilers since my return, but I guess I missed all the screenshots and most of the videos.

Anyway, yeah, he's got a snazzy new armor.

Note the uniform collar inside the armor collar. Uniformed Garrus casual clothing confirmed?

That's awesome! I actually noticed the collar from my profile pic, but for some reason, his bandages are still on there.

And why haven't I seen that image before? I didn't stop reading Game Informer every month...

I've failed one too many turians. Nihlus, Saren, Turian Counselor, but I WON'T fail Garrus. From the beginning, to the end, my old friend. :crying:

@Hellbound: I actually like that picture, even though I only think of Saren and Nihlus as good friends. They still look adorable, and very well-drawn.

My MainShep feels the same way. D: Well, except for the turian councillor... she doesn't care much about him after he called her crazy for believing in the same Reapers she saved him from.

Ever heard of mentor-student relationships? Many believe Saren and Nihlus had one. The life as a Spectre can get awfully lonely...
