As far as I know, you don't need to register a game to post pics... but I could be wrong about that. I've always had at least one game registered because when I joined, it was needed to post in the ME2 forum.

@Pyn: What angle of Nihlus' head do you need? I might be able to find some.

Here's one for top of the page:

Hm, well let me try again. I wanted to post a picture of my favorite Shepard, Thulasi, cuddling with Garrus. Call it self-indlugence on my part.

Edit: It's not working. CURSE YOU, BIOWARE SOCIAL FORUMS!!!!

Oh well, here's a link, if anyone cares enough to see lol: s13.postimage.org/q7bsx91cn/shep1.jpg

I have no idea how to post images on this forum.  Cool Garrus pics, though :)

Edit: It probably won't let me because I haven't registered a game.  My PS3 copy is giving me problems with registering... Meh.

You need Photobucket or some other image host and the IMG code. For example, to get a picture from DeviantArt I would need to save the image, upload it to photobucket, copy and paste the img code.

And it's always good to link to the Artist!^_^

Oh, Here's a nice list of references from the models. Turians and many other species!

I just noticed that Nihlus wears dominant black-red and Garrus wears dominant blue-black. Maybe Garrus is supposed to be the antithesis of Nihlus? It kinda makes sense, since Nihlus was kinda set up at the beginning to maybe be a companion before he died. Garrus is cooperative while Nihlus is all about being a lone wolf... not to mention Garrus works for C-Sec and Nihlus is a Spectre. XD

The link lead to a page where it was actually posted on the old Garrus thread 12 months ago! xD
And I found a picture I posted (not my own work) on the same page with my old account, Kim Shepard:

Thanks!
I did not know the old images psoted on ME2 were googleable. That opens lots of possibilities...

Anyway that Garrus with his arms around his knees is my favorite.
How much money I would pay to know what he's thinking at that moment!

Admirals, ha! Politicians, that's what you are. Playing your dirty little games while our asses are on the line.
...
Damn, this is a good sniping position. I could just slowly take off my rifle, wait for the crowd to roar - then extend the barrel - aim for that blabbing son of a **** and bam! There you go, Tali. You didn't even have to drag Shepard along.
...
And then I say, "Anything for you, Tali," and she says, "Oh, Garrus!" And then she hangs around my neck and I put an arm around her waist and... bang my head on her mask like an idiot. Damn. I'll have to look up the specs for that thing. Just in case.
...
Don't let them get to you, Tali. You're strong. I know you are. And don't worry: I'm probably the only one here who can hear the tears in your voice. It will be our little secret.
...
I'll be here if you need me.

Thanks for the nice words!

I guess youre onto something... maybe thats where the whole Tali/Garrus thing started at.
In that case I somewhat suspect Garrus to be thinking something like ''I could drop those Admiral and be back onto the Normandy before any harm happen to any of us... But that's still not a good idea, is it. Seems like were relying on Shepard once again. As much as I hate those politicians, I wish I could be more like him sometimes and have the patience for all that non-sense. If you can call Shep patient. ''

Not as good but you gave me inspiration ;)

Wow. I'm not a Tali/Garrus shipper... but that was too sweet.

as for how to link things to words... go into the "standard form" and type something and then click on the little button that says "URL" and it'll bring up a box. and in that box you put the address...
and thast how you do that.

regarding pictures... the easiest way i've found to post them is to copy them and then paste them... doesn't work for stuff from your pooter unless you put it on tinypic.com or something.. but you get the idea.

erm. yes.

That's interesting, the color comparison and the cooperative vs lone, although Garrus isn't exactly a good example of C-Sec. Sure, he starts off there, but the way he works is much similar to a Spectre (which is why the poor guy gets in trouble so much). They also both lean towards Renegade morality.

@Liec: Those are adorable! Who's the turian in front?

on the subject of Nihlus/Garrus one place they also differ is that Nihlus is more of an assertive character (he could have been Shep's mentor if he stayed alive) and Garrus is less confident, more open to learning (having shep as mentor) even if hes pretty competent at what he does.

also the misterious turian is hard to figure out. His armor makes me think of the thermal armor in ME1 (purple with yellow highlights). Theres a ME3 picture that has Shep discussing with what seems like a turian general in that armor.

Edit: that Turian.
I might be totally wrong cause they arent identical but there are not many turians with yellow armor

Actually, the mentor relationship that Shepard can have with Garrus is similar to the one Saren had with Nihlus. So at some point in his life, Nihlus was open to "learning from the best", as Garrus says he did from Shepard on the Renegade path. Nihlus is much more experienced than Garrus, being a Spectre for... I don't know, a certain amount of years, so he would naturally be more confident.

I wonder how different Garrus would be if he had gone through with Spectre training instead of working for C-Sec. His morals would still be the same, of course, but maybe he would have turned out to be an Archangel-like figure much sooner.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that guy. I didn't recognize the armor because it looked like a darker purple in the one screenshot I saw of him, but maybe that was just the lighting.

Edit: Now that I look again, the armor seems too different for it to be him. I can't think of anyone else though.

Thanks, I didn't remember that armor on the old version of Garrus at all. I've seen a few videos that came out before ME1, but I wasn't really following the game pre-release.

well we have a winner !

This is the very first time I see that demo. The armor is pertty nice tho. I wish they had kept it availble.

@Sarendoc

Youre right its hard to compare Garrus and Nihlus becasue they really are at diffrent place in their lives. I always had the feeling that Garrus could become a lot like Nihlus . Maybe thats why im still hoping he gets Spectre status in ME3. He'd do just fine (so much as you consider Nihlus being a good Spectre even if hes most likely of a renagade morals)

Edit: ... and TOP
