Hi and thanks for the warm welcome! I've noticed that too about people vacating. I'm hoping that after the demo and the game release more people will come back.
Meeting Solana and Garrus's papa will be awesome, I'd like to meet his mom too. I have a feeling that she is the sort of mother that's proud of her son and he's probably a lot like her, where as Solana probably is more like her father. I'm going to guess, depending on the situation in game, Papa Vakarian may either be very impressed with Shep or probably saying that s/he's a terrible influence on Garrus and that no good will come of him having any sort of relation with Shep, though he may change his tune, Solana will be the harder one to convince I think.
I agree in that I would love for his family to learn how brave he really is, and as for Hannah Shepard, I'm going to agree that she'll be cool with it, but I think she'll survive just on the fact that killing her off seems rather pointless at this point in time. Unless it's part of the fact that she's part of the fleet that's attacking the reapers. I think it would be awesome if there was a moment when you see Garrus's dad meeting Hannah and him saying, "You have a very strong daughter," and her saying, "You have a brave son." Or something sweet like that to acknowlege that they respect the other's child. 
That would be a sweet scene. Giving closure to Garrus with his mom and helping him with his family would be the ultimate gesture of love (or friendship) that Shepard could provide for him. I have a feeling that
something will happen with his family, love interest or not. They just can't mention that stuff on the dossiers in LotSB and not follow up on it!!!!
Having Hannah and Garrus's dad meet would be pretty awesome, but I doubt it would happen. It might just be the cynic in me, but I don't think she'll live. I
could be wrong, though. I just keep on thinking back to that cliche of fictional heroes being orphans. And, having Hannah die (possibly as Shepard watches in the scenario you mentioned) would give the game more DRAMA and added fuel for the Spacers to defeat the Reapers.
Of course, I could be wrong and I'll be pleasantly surprised. I don't want my Spacer's mom to die. I picked the background because I wanted her to have relatively comfortable/normal beginnings without the drama (but then messed her up with the Sole Survivor background lol).
As for the other ME3 stuff about Garrus, I won't post it here because there are many people who don't want to see spoilers, so that's why I don't have much to say when the "What do you want to see in Garrus' ME3 romance?" topic comes up. I just repeat that it's everything I wanted.
