Off topic question, how is Liara a romance option for ME3? If the player wanted to romance Liara (both genders) wouldn't it make sense to romance her in ME1 or in the Genesis comic? The reason why I ask this is because I don't want to go through another ninja romance w/ Liara in ME3.

Big fan of Garrus, love his character and romanced him with my Femshep.
This FemShep didn't get to the conversations where you can (try to) turn Liara down though. She avoided Liara whenever she could. It's my current MaleShep who told her he wasn't interested and never said a single nice thing to her, but look what happened there... ninjamance. I can see from later BioWare games that they've done a lot to prevent this from happening, like the obvious romance starter lines in ME2 and the heart icons next to dialogue in DA2, but I just can't take any chances in my first playthrough. But, good point. I would hate to get ninja romanced. My Shepard who tested her flexibility with Garrus already has a love triangle with Kaidan on her hands. Love squares may not work in her favor.

It's unfortunate that it has to be this way. I don't mind not speaking to Liara (never liked her), but Kaidan's story seems really interesting, and I think I'm going to like Vega, so it won't be easy trying to work around that.

I did find out that the "let's just be friends" line with Liara is not glitched, but because this MaleShep of mine clearly doesn't want to be friends... the game must be restarted, and Liara recruited last (which stops the romance topics from being brought up).GlassElephant wrote...
I know one way to drop the Kaidan romance is to tell him that you're interested in Liara. Although, that leaves you with Liara even though you haven't talked to her... I'm not sure how that would work out.
You could also tell Liara that you're interested in Kaidan and then leave him in a nuclear blast zone on Virmire.* That way, you can have some dialogue with the characters AND not get ninjamanced.

I have multiple Shepards planned for each LI, but for my first ME3 playthrough, I'm using the same FemShep that was my first ME2 playthrough, who wanted to romance Garrus since ME1. She's just not romantically interested in anyone that isn't a male turian.

Oh, I created a love triangle on purpose with Kaidan and Garrus. I really want to see how that would turn out, although I will be sad to see Kaidan's heart broken (she's picking Garrus). It just felt the most honest.
I have two Shepards ready for ME3 import. The Garrus/Kaidan love triangle one, and one where Shepard stays loyal to Kaidan. I have a whole backstory/ explanation for them. They both also have different appearances, backgrounds, and classes.
Garrus and Kaidan are my two favorite romance options. I chose both (although Garrus wins between the two

Those guys are my favorite romance options for FemShep too. Kaidan because his romance is well done (more indepth and paced then ME2 relationships). so he might not be my type of character but I can appreciate it like a good book or movie. Garrus is more interesting and I have the imagination to make up for the few conversations we get. so its all good.
I cant wait to see how things go with Vega too.

I agree on Joker. I like when love stories take time to happen so i wouldnt mind going for Joker with one pf my FemSheps (actually the one who im going to try Jacob's romance with). But im really not sure he's gonna be an option. did you hear something official?
