I support the techno turian in ME3! Or at least give Shep an option to dance like him. xD

Am I The only one that REALLY hopes the "Techno Turian" will make an apperance in Mass Effect 3?
:o

Watching that gif while listening to this is incredible. Techno Turian goes with everything!

to quote a comment from the youtube video...

"The Reapers are defeated, the galaxy celebrates, and the crew celebrates - the camera pans over a bar where they're drinking, laughing, and rejoicing in not being dead...and then bam! Techno Turian steps onto the dance floor and tears it up. Roll credits."

Maybe a lot of turians are secretly good at dancing. Perhaps in ME3 Garrus can "teach" Shepard to not be a terrible dancer. :D

The techno turians's dance really does go with anything. I've listened to a lot of songs while watching him (right now, it's "Living After Midnight"), and it always fits his awesome moves.

I'm sure they are. I don't believe that Groundskeeper who said in his cut dialogue that turians don't dance. We have proof!

I have never been ninjamanced ever. It was super easy to get out of. Just tell them no and that's it. I don't get this missing content by not talking to people for fear that maybe they may like you. If you pick the wrong dialogue option, re-load. Hell, I reloaded 30+ hours of game play because I realized I picked the wrong option in Reach and Flexibility. I know people have different play styles, though. I'm not going to get mad about it, but I'm just saying it seems like you're missing out on a lot by refusing to talk to people. There is quality content there and besides, how else are you going to be a dick to Liara if you don't talk to her.

Note: I do not personally hate Liara and am only a dick to her to get her to back off. Sexual Harassment Asari to the rescue!

Edit: I also realize now that the first part of my post sounds super douchey. Sort of like "Lulz, ur dumb if u get ninjamanced!1!" But really, what I meant is, I have never encountered this problem so I do not understand the frustration. Sorry for the poor wording.

I don't think I've ever been successfully ninjamanced either. I've definitely gotten to the point with Liara where you have to flat out reject her or romance her, but she's the only one

hello! i have a question for all garrus lovers in here...

basically, i started off on ME2, and although Thane was my choice I can see why some like garrus better. (i only chose Thane because i have the attention span of a flea and he was the last LI to be recruited). there is a relationship based on trust and his sexy voice.

but then i went out and bought ME1, and shep's relationship with gaz there is more like  student/teacher or little bro/big sis. all that bl**dy "guidance" she gives him winds me up. so now i cannot get that old style relationship out of my head in ME2.

so coming to the question part - at last - how do you get it of of your heads? is it irrelevant or a natural progression of their friendship? and since he's been held back by being under shep's command (according to SB intel if i recall) is it not better for gaz if they go their separate ways?

You got to remember while shep was dead he has been leading a squad of vigilanties so probably they see eachother as more equal now than before.

@kromify: I always saw their relationship not so much as Garrus hanging on every word Shepard says, but more like he admired her and wanted to learn as much as he could from her. I got a sense that he took her actions and words to heart, but would ultimately make his own decisions. It wasn't so much a student/teacher relationship to me as it was Garrus trying to better himself by observing and understanding someone he admired and respected. If that makes any sense.

Personaly I have no problem with a romance arc that goes from 'co-worker' to friend to lover. I guess seeing it in reverse (ME2 then ME1) might not help with feeling the flow of it tho.

Im one of those who wouldnt have romanced Garrus in ME1 (or not seriously at least) because im not that turned on by the mentor/student thing. But when Shepard and Garrus meet again in ME2, I find that things are quite diffrent. They are much more equal. Not ony does it show in their dialogue but also in his loyalty mission. He's not asking to be taught anything (Paragons can still teach him not to kill Sidonis but thats their business). What he wants is the help of a friend and someone who understands what leading a team means. So by that time I feel they are on much more of an equal relationship.

It also helps that the romance doesnt go down the 'oh I always wanted to be with you since we first met' road. Its more like 2 pals rediscovering what they mean to each other and how much they have grown after being separated for a long time.

How the SB intel comes into all this is also very much up to interpretation. If I recall well enough its not saying that 'having been under shepard's command' is holding Garrus back but more like 'staying under her command will hold him back'. I dont think they are questionning his learning experience in ME1 but more where he should go from there.

It all depends what part of Garrus character is more important to you i guess. If you see him like a superhero character, a Space-Batman, then the best thing for him would be to leave Shepard's shadow and go write his own legend. But thats also condemning him to a lot of loneliness. Lets say that superheroes rarely have nice and quiet personal lives. They most often roam alone and dedicate them self to their ideals. Having meaningful relationships (be it friend or lover) will always mean you have to make choices. A real life example would be deciding to move to persue an actor career or staying with the person you love and spending time with your family.

Of course Garrus would never realize his full potential if he sticks with Shepard. But is that what he really wants? to be lonely but commited to his ideals? Maybe, maybe not. I dont think by the end of ME2 Garrus knows what he wants yet. Hopefully we can ask him what he wants in ME3. Because utimatly he should be the one to decide if he dedicates himself to be the best he can be or if he allows himself to not write his own page of history so he can work with someone he trusts and enjoy being around.

Once you're signed in to your xbox live account you need to go to your xbox dashboard and select "Friends". From there go to "add friend". Next a screne will pop up and all you will have to do is enter the other person's gamer tag. You can also add friends through xbox.com. Just follow these steps and you should be golden:
1.)  sign in with your email used on your gamertag
2.) Press "gamertag" in the upper right corner on the screen.
3.)Press "friends"
4.)Then add the gamertag of the person you want to add

Hope this helps.B)

Yeah, I'm replaying ME1 right now, and after having played ME2 multiple times it did feel a bit weird to see Garrus again but as the student and not the equal.  But, I have to remember that he's developed as a character.  Two years is a long time, and he's had to grow on his own after his mentor had died.

As outmane mentioned (and I agree with everything he/she said), Garrus can develop his leadership skills even more without Shepard overshadowing him.  But, would he want to leave Shepard's side (romance or not)?  He tells Shepard that she's the only friend he has left in this screwed up galaxy (only if you pursue him as a romance option, but still).

I personally would like to have a moment where Shepard is in danger and Garrus has to save him/her from danger, giving Garrus the chance to prove himself and his potential.  Shepard can't do everything on his/her own, s/he needs his/her crew.

Anyone know if there's a video of Garrus' loyalty mission where you try to talk him out of it but then choose the "I can't help you" option?

Well, getting ninjamanced is really an in-game glitch... so you didn't have the glitch. In the case of my MaleShep, he chose the "I'm not interested" option, and during his next conversation with Liara, she was using romance dialogue. There were only three different choices of what to say, and all of those choices were saying "yes" to a romance with her. I re-loaded to right before that conversation, thinking that if I never played through that forced romance talk, then the game might just leave it at the last thing I said - "I'm not interested." But when the Normandy lockdown scene happened, MaleShep got the almost-kiss with Liara, even after choosing every possible option in that conversation to yell at her and get her to back off. She didn't. I am going to replay the game and recruit her last (so the romance stuff never comes up at all), but when you've recruited her close to the beginning of the game, there's really no other option.

The romance traps seem to be different with each game. I haven't had any problems with Ashley and Kaidan, but others have. Apparently, the "Let's just be friends" option with Liara is not glitched, but I'm a very strict roleplayer with my Shepards, and there is no way that MaleShep would ever consider her a friend. So I'm not taking any chances with my first playthrough. I'll just play it as if she was never recruited, ignoring her except for when plot conversations are forced by the game. It might bother me more that I'll be afraid to talk with characters I actually like (Vega and ME3 Kaidan), than avoiding someone my Shep doesn't want to talk to anyway.

I never got the feeling that Shepard's relationship with Garrus was student/mentor. Do the conversations give off that much of a different vibe when people play Paragon all the way? I played it Renegade, and Garrus just seemed like a good friend. Shepard wasn't really teaching him much, just agreeing with him and showing him how awesome it is to be a Spectre with no rules and regulations to slow him down.

I don't believe that the Shadow Broker is right about what he said. Garrus does have the chance to shine as a leader while staying on Shepard's squad, and letting him be a team leader in the suicide mission proves it.

This was the first one I could find. That line happens somewhere after 6:30.
Edit: I forgot to add, I really like the way this plays out with the "no more nightmares" dialogue. :D

I can't play the demo anyway, so... in my case, it doesn't really make a difference if Garrus would have been there or not. xD But everyone else should just think that, when you're playing the game for real, Garrus will be going everywhere with you. Right? Nothing to worry about. You'll get to bring him all of those places come March.
