I have no idea what I got this idea from... but I drew this. XD I just scanned it and I mean to clean it up and color it digitally so it's technically a work-in-progress.

Is it terrible that the following weeks have become "not playing mass effect 3 yet" weeks to me now Image IPB. It's not like I don't have anything else to play...they just don't have my full attention until I've played ME3 (this includes you too skyrim, yes I know you're awesome).

It's hard to describe this hype to people that don't "get" why it's a big deal. Usually I make a comparison to something like the release of harry potter novels "was it JUST a book to you back then or were you SUPER EXCITED about what was going to happen next in the story?" because mass effect IS an ongoing story that spans 3 games, most people care about what’s going to happen more so than the fact that you can shoot people (it’s fun though Image IPB).

But because it’s a game and not a book , TV series or movie a lot of non-gamers I find, don’t quite get the emotional investment. I mean I’ve played mass effect in front of family and friends who only casually play games or don't play games full stop and get confused WHY it has my attention the way it does. Like if I’m listening to mordin’s ethical dilemma , I soak up every word because the acting is so damn good and the subject matter is so interesting yet it may be just a “lot of talking” to the bored backseat gamer, like they’re expecting me to skip most of it.

I recently introduced my younger sister to mass effect  after talking about it so much but she found the first game "creepy" That was because I was talking to tali at the time and the music was weird to her Image IPB . It was also “Boring” because I was “just talking”  .I had hyped up this series so much beforehand it was a shame that was her first impression of it, ah well.

There was a funny moment when she impatiently demanded that “pick a mean one” as she watched me pick paragon options while talking to a crew member.  I had to explain that “My shepard likes her and wouldn’t say that”  and I got this “WTF?” look on her face. At least I know the fans on the forum get it Image IPB

*edit*

Oh and garrus Image IPB.  Less then 6 weeks to go now! My femshep wants cuddles dammit!

I'm just not going to speak with her at all in my first playthrough. Not her, or the other romance options. Yes, that's what I'll do. I can't let another Shepard be caught in a romance trap when I'll be limited for time and trying to get through the game as fast as possible to see Garrus' romance!

Thanks for the p.m.!

I used to like Liara...before she raped me. Now I'm hoping to blow her up with a nuke in ME3, you know, just to be on the safe side.  I just can't believe she's considered a romance option...again -if it's true, which I hope it's not-  in ME3, instead of adding a bi Tali/Garrus alien that's not asari. <_<

Do you think Liara would try to hit on you again after you already turned her down in ME1?

But, good point.  I would hate to get ninja romanced.  My Shepard who tested her flexibility with Garrus already has a love triangle with Kaidan on her hands.  Love squares may not work in her favor.

I wouldn't be surprised if she did, she has a shrine of Shepard in her apartment so...

Remember his armor in the first game?

I've been having that same feeling. Tried playing Skyrim, thought it could get my mind off of ME3...it backfired. lol

Tried playing Dues Ex :HR, but the dialog wheel and the uh, orange reminded way too much of ME2. I think at this point if I want to keep myself satisfied until ME3 is to play something that isn't an RPG. Like Portal 2...

These next few weeks have turned into that for me too, so you're not alone there. Skyrim isn't helping me much either. I'm just hoping that I get my Dunmer PT finished before ME3 comes out cause I know it won't if I don't. I still haven't even finished Oblivion yet because Assassin's Creed took over!

And I got that "WTF"/meh look from the man currently working his way into my life when I introduced him to it. I truly lost a bit of respect for him after that. And he knew I was a gamer before hand. Poor dear really blundered there. :pinched:

And Garrus is going to be my first PT I think. Margaret is missing her Turian.<3  The girls on the Thane thread aren't going to be too happy bout that though.

I know what you guys mean. I don't really want to pay any other games. I have tried and failed, so I've been filling my time with new TV shows and I just ordered the ME books. I keep telling myself I'll make it through.

Aww, that Nihlus plushie is adorable. Was that for Obsy too?

Besides trying to finish up as much work as I can before ME3 comes out, it does kind of feel like passing time. I've mostly been playing BioWare games recently, like KOTOR (for the first time) and DAO: Awakening (again). These games have spoiled me, I guess... others just don't compare. xD But I did get Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which I'd like to try out soon. So many games, and enough time. I'm lucky to have people who understand the Mass Effect obsession, even though I don't know anyone else who plays it. Just you guys.

No problem. :)

Your poor Shepard! Did Liara not take no for an answer at the final romance scene? D: Now I fear for my MaleShep's safety. *crosses fingers that the turn-down actually works for him*

If it weren't for the fact that I had to worry about romance traps, I would be completely happy about those three being options again in the first game. I think they're more interesting now than they were in ME1, and now I can make Shepards who feel the same way. But... the ninjamance. I'm torn between "yay, more options" and "oh noooo, my Shep's going to be antisocial."

Well, you've got a few Garrus romance fans on the Thane thread, like me and Tasha. :D

Margaret and Margurite? Are your Shepards twins? I've got two like that.

I think it would be great if the squadmates had at least a standard response to the stuff you say that isn't within the list of commands they understand. It would feel more realistic than no answer at all, right? :)

If I had the voice commands, my squad would just be so confused because I tend to shout instructions at Shepard. "No, no, noooooo!" "Get up!" "Ruuuuuun!" "Go, move!" "Get down!" Well, I don't actually shout... it's more of a whisper in the tone of someone who is supposed to be shouting, or else that would be awkward.

I guess I'm lucky, I say things in my head...though, if someone was able to go inside my mind and listen to me play Mass Effect, they'd probably be horrified, haha. It's going to be awkward learning to talk to the TV. >.<

I agree, though, the squad mates should respond in some fashion...I can see it now:

Me: "Hey Garrus"
Garrus: "Hello, Commander."
*ten minutes later*
"Hey Garrus"
"Hello, Commander"

...or something like that. I'd spend all my time talking to Garrus and hearing him talk back XD

I don't talk to Shep (or I guess a better term would be talking "at" Shep) too often, just when the battle is not going as I wanted it to or Shep's controls aren't responding as fast as I'd like. xD And when Liara ninjamanced my poor MaleShep. But normally when I say something during combat, it's directed at Shepard. It would be confusing to have my squadmates obeying those commands when it doesn't apply to them, like telling Shep to "get down" or "run" when something's trying to kill her, but my squadmates are in no danger at all.

An "I need a human shield!" option is what I'd like to see, although Garrus does a really good job at this as it is.

I should learn to just say stuff in my head. Instead I speak outloud at the screen like a dork.
"Hi Garrus!" "Okay, let's kill these b*tches." "GARRUS WHAT ARE YOU DOING GET BACK IN COVER" "AUGH WHAT IS THAT THING KILL IT"
I can only guess that adding some kind of conversational response feature to the kinect would only make me worse lol

It would be totally weird for me to use a voiced conversation feature because I never imagine myself as Shepard. They're all my characters, and I'm the creator... so when I talk out loud, it's more like a voice in Shepard's head. xD

Me: Get up! Get up!
Shepard: I'm trying, damn it! That thing hit me really hard!
Me: Oh no, no, no, no, no.
Shepard: *turns around* COLLECTORS!
Me: Run!
Shepard: *running towards cover* I'm going as fast as I caaaaan! D:

I would love to play MP with you!  Not sure how to add you though.  I bought the Xbox for my boyfriend (now husband) so everything is set up in his name.  I have no idea how to add friends. Such a newb. :pinched:

Lol, if you send me your gamertag I can add you and then it's linda like facebook you just accept my friend request. Or you can add me, my gamertag is Stormborn. (Yah I know, I was really in to Game of Thrones at the time.

Lol, I yell, and cuss like a pirate. I wonder if that will bring my team morale down?

Ashley: *cries* would you please stop calling me that.
Me: I'm sorry! I mean it affectionatly!

Garrus always gets my "What, Nooo come back here!" As I went up to Insanity he decided his new move is "Alas, I am no meat shield against husks!" and if I survive I can usually find him a stairway and hallway back toward where we came from. Chicken.Image IPB

Garrus likes to get right up on Shepard and block her shots....at least he's actually staying in cover and not dying! Haha. I guess he wants to be right beside Carole (canon Shep) just in case she decides to charge a YMIR mech and gets in trouble. You know how those Vanguards are :P

Garrus is normally charging into battle ahead of me, stealing my kills, and sometimes clearly protecting my Shepard. But for some reason, when husks come into the fight he stays far away.

Aww, that could be. Garrus is just enjoying watching his girlfriend beating up husks. :D How adorable. I wonder if he also enjoyed seeing her shoot an explosive container near the husks, with one flying across the battlefield and landing right in front of her. (Because I did. That was awesome!)

Edit: Look what I found for top of the page.
