more money than sense, I had to preorder the art book, too (through B&N so I could get the DLC ).

Hey eradyn! Wow so many old garrus posters popping up like daises Image IPB I hear you on the DLC, I'm also waiting on the specifics about the action figure DLC. Once I hear the word "exclusive"   I'm likely going to cave and buy the sets.  Although I'd be pissed if I have to open the packages to get the codes though.

TotP

here's some team dextro

You should never have doubted the power of Garrus (ME3) to draw us from our hibernation! :P And what's this about action figure DLC? Please don't tell me I have to buy something else.  My credit card is threatening to sue me for damages.

Well if you buy the series 2 and updated series 1 figures (should be restocked around march/april) you will get a special code with each figure. It's for the multiplayer and it may be things like upgrades , character boosters, weapons that sort of thing. What I have yet to hear is whether or not these are exclusive to the figures and if they are that will make me get out the wallet.

Oy vey. As if Hubby needed any more reasons to tease me for being a bigger ME fan than he is...after he kept nagging me to play ME 1 and 2... :D

Okay, so this has probably been asked a million times in here, and you're probably sick to death of people asking your opinions on it, buuuuuut....

Who do you think will or possibly could take over for Garrus' position on the ME3 team if he is deceased as of the ME2 import?

Nobody. There's no replacements for dead squadmates. As it should be.

Writing entire new characters for the dead ones would be crazy time consuming. Bioware did it once with Wrex/Wreav but the tweets and leaked material are pointing toward the 'no replacement'solution this time.

It's impossible to replace Garrus. He's Archangel. No one can fill his boots...not even Shepard. :P

But hey, if someone kills off some squadmates, just think of it as a way of differentiating your story...making it unique. And on the off-chance they decide not to import another save file, there will always be other squadmates to choose from.

I think there were some players who honestly expected Bioware to give them a new team if they were "clever" enough to kill off most of the squad. I'm not talking a few character deaths (Mordin died on my first try) I mean intentionally killing a large number off just to see if they would get "better" characters later or something.

Im right with you on that. Some players really give the feeling that they would 'prove' a character is bad by killing him. And then we will see them complaining because they are empty-handed in a few months...

With all the playthroughs I have, I did kill some squaddies for roleplay purpose. I even made a very earth-centrist Shepard to see if I could get Garrus mad at him.

... Mad Garrus sounds yummy doesnt it ?

Well I hope you don't think that's me. I may be somwhat disappointed at the notion that I will permanently be one squadmate down because Garrus died in the suicide missiob but i certainly didn't kill him off to prove he was bad, and I certainly don't expect a replacement because I didn't like 'A' and therefore since I went to the "effort" (snort) of killing off "A" I deserve "B". I was just curious as to how the situation of Garrus' death and therefore absence from the ME3 squad paradigm might be handled and if that may result in a replacement and who that person may be.

Somehow, it always deeply disappoints me when someone says they let Garrus die in their game, even though it doesn't affect mine.

REPLAY IT! FIX IT!

Your Garrus is dead?

Obligatory replay of ME2 !

You can't have Garrus dead for ME3... for me it would be like playing it without the trademark character!

I know right? If Garrus died during the play through the game itself should slap you in the face and the console/pc would explode...

BTW, I got my Garrus shirt in the mail today! Oh happy, happy day!

I'm glad there are no "replacement" squadmates if any got killed off. The situation with Wrex and Wreav was different - it's only natural that, if one potential leader doesn't survive to take control, then another one will.

Also, I wouldn't want to kill off squadmates just to get another one in the next game, or else miss them because I refused to kill off a certain character. It goes against the whole meaning of the suicide mission, encouraging people to build their teams and fight for the lost to bring everyone out alive. Giving a random squadmate in their place would just seem superficial, at least in my opinion.

I just imagined the game flying out of the console/PC, as if controlled by a Fade spirit, and slapping the player in the face. xD Brilliant. (Seriously though, I couldn't care less which characters other people kill. I've either done or plan to do the same for roleplaying purposes, science, or just because they annoy me.)

Don't worry I do have a Garrus lives import sitting there as well... it's just... I liked him in Mass Effect, like he was cool as cool beans get and then in Mass Effect 2 I see him again and I'm just like "Oh god what has happened to you over these past two years... and I remember you and I being cool allies but not bros or anything" and then I go through some stuff and I start to think " Maybe time with Shepard will help to heal some of this trauma" but it doesn't really, and I get to his loyalty mission and nothing seems to change in or after it, in fact he seems worse off for it, and he still acts like some bro of mine.

I just don't know if I can face that Garrus in Mass Effect 3 so that's why I send him through the vents... and it's painful, oh believe it is painful to do it but contrare to the notion that it's 'a suicide mission therefore everyone does their best to survive', I think that because it's suicide mission someone has to die and aside from him and Jacob I can't really let anyone else go.

I think that after Garrus lost Shepard he kinda lost his way in life. Shepard was a mentor, and a close friend...someone he really looked up to and looked forward to learning from. He was pretty sweet in ME2, but I perferred him in ME1. I'm sure that in 3, he'll grow even more as a character and work out some of the "kinks" he had in 2. Shepard's death had a huge impact on all the crew, and I think Garrus was one of the ones closest to Shepard, so the effect of his/her death would have a life altering change on him. Liara was also one of the ones who was effected deeply by Shepard's death...I mean, look at her when you go to Illium, she's clearly much different than she was in 1.

I look forward to seeing how Garrus has changed from 2 to 3. :)

I wasnt refering to you of course. I personnaly do make the effort letting certain squadmates die with certain Shepards because I believe thats what should have happen on a story point of view. But I know that playthrough will be lacking a bit of content. Im jsut afraid of the complaining that might come down the line on BSN.

But if there was to be a replacement, i would have liked Garrus sister or someone related to his Omega vigilante squad. I have no clue how integrating any f them would make sense tho.

Hey! I've been browsing the thread for hours now and since the wait for ME3 is basically *killing* me, I thought I might finally jump in to express my unconditional love for Garrus and turians in general.

And to think I had never played the Mass Effect games until last month. ._.
