Regardless of whatever issues I have with their "romance" itself, in the end what bothers me most is that it really feels like a big troll attempt. Because there's no way the writers wouldn't have been able to predict the fan reaction, knowing how sensitive people are to LI stuff and knowing how huge the fanbases are for those characters. This isn't like Miranda/Jacob, which at least has some basis in history of happening (and I'm not saying anything will happen between those two, it was just an example). This feels forced and added in purely to bait fans. And on BioWare's part, that just seems really childish. I don't want to offend the writers, because I do appreciate all that they have done for the series, but it's my honest opinion.

Yes, it might make some people happy. But it will most likely make even more people upset, and I don't think it's worth it. 

I suppose we can hope that they took it out of the final script, but I kind of doubt it. Maybe some PC players will find a way to mod it out of the game, because I'd really rather not have to kill off anyone just so I can avoid something that makes me uncomfortable.

There wasn't that much dialogue in game for their "romance" so maybe it won't be that noticeable?  I would prefer it not be possible in any game, but at least I can avoid it with a Garrus/Femshep romance.

I've noticed quite a few people do like this pairing, but I don't like it when they show their support for it by being hostile to the Shepard romances, which I've seen happen quite often.  I think some people are disenchanted by the Shepard romances (Garrus/Femshep and X/Manshep) because of the immense fan support and I guess it can be upsetting when other romances are "pushed" to the sidelines.  But taking it out on something that other people love is awful and then promoting Garrus/X just because it isn't with Shepard is just mean.  Anyway, my point is that I'm just expecting this big explosion with fans where one side is really strongly against this pairing and the other is really strongly for and they'll be all this name-calling and ship-sinking:pinched:  Of course, that happens on the BSN regardless...

I like the idea of the pairing, you get a Garrus romance even when you don't romance him =D

I didn't get that "sibling" vibe, not that anyone can tell how they view each other from the few interactions they have. His friendship with X probably isn't all that different from the one he has with Shepard :/

I think if Garrus was going to fall for anyone it should have been X. It just seems easy I think. But I'll never have a chance to see the awkwardness lol because no matter what my only Shepard always ends up with Garrus. It's kind of sad because I have never wanted to romance anyone else after him.

Agreed. Although for my playthroughs, it would have been so out of the blue, because I tend to ignore her from the moment she's recruited. Partly due to the "meh" dub that made her a more annoying than likable character. <_<

Please tell me too! If it is her...then I'm killing her off in ALL my playthroughs, with every Shepard I have. I'm not obsessive about Garrus or anything...I just really can't stand Liara.

Considering that X and Shepard are different people? I'd say that his friendship with X is quite different. However I do think they are friends, or at least are on good terms. But I like them much better platonically.

I'm not sure how it's unlocked but I think it's some mix of chatting him up after each mission/exploration/event and level. Not sure though, I just went through ME1 twice and it unlocked at different times so just keep going down that slow elevator to talk to him!

You might. Just keep talking to him a lot, do Noveria, and try then. If he STILL doesn't bring it up, it might be a glitch.

I can't remember when I usually get Garrus' quest, but I hope it isn't a glitch. I had one where the game didn't let me complete Geth Incursions, which meant I didn't have the geth data to give to Tali. I fixed it by editing the ME2 save when I imported, but that's obviously a PC solution and I'd want to do the quest with my own Shepard anyway...

If it makes ANYONE feel any better, the script WAS a little old and Bioware DID confirm a few changes would be made after the leaks happened. Maybe Garrus / X doesn't happen (And yes, I DO know who you guys are referring to by X, and I also disapprove of it) or it can be prevented like another couple on the Normandy. Personally think X has more chemistry with a certain guy on her recruitment mission anyway.

Although it's possible that that "certain guy" isn't in ME3 at all, due to voice actor complications or just a lack of importance or...whatever. You never know.

Hell, I'm a hardcore X/Shepard fan and even I'm okay with that pairing because at least they're the same species and it makes some sense. Sure, X/Shepard are different species, but that was kind of a major issue of their romance, and a "big deal". It cheapens it somewhat if she can just run off with another guy of a different species.

It also made me think that since X falls for shep early won't the Xmancers be a bit pissed that their "bro" gets her if they don't? Bros don't do that

They replaced Mordin's VA though, considering X species voice has to computerized to a point anyway, it couldn't have been that hard to find some sort of replacement. Especially considering the difference in importantance of Mordin and the person X should end up with.

Besides, I'll just be extremely pissed if he doesn't end up in ME3, at least as a cameo. He's like, second after Garrus.

I would've felt better about Garrus/X if it was built up better. I've read the script, and unless they've made some huge changes since it was leaked, the romance occurs EXTREMELY randomly in my opinion.

Sorry I didn't get who x was through the comments, I thought it wasn't her, plus I was afraid I might catch an unwanted spoiler through one of them and skimed through them. My bad.
At least they can eat the same food, right? It reminds me of one of the npc couples on Illium in ME2.
