But lizard? I don't see it at all.

Must be the teeth.
P.S. Same guy came into the Tali thread and said that he hoped she looks like a disgusting ugly bug.

i cant help imagining a scene where garrus falls to his knees with tears in his eyes about his calibrations and what the alliance has done to "his guns". this will be heart-breaking....

I want to see Shepard inspecting the upgrades and once s/he gets to the battery EDI mentions that the Alliance engineers said there was nothing more they could do, the guns were already perfect.

Everyone hold the phone...

Mass effect News!

Or at least reassurance for the furture of the franchise after mass effect 3, I for one, whole heartedly agree with gamesradar's idea for a garrus spin-off...

Aces. I was holding out on the hope that they'd hold on to the ME universe after Shepard was through! Not sure how I feel about a Garrus spin-off, though...it may be hard to incorporate any post-ME trilogy characters considering that would make certain events/characters' life status "canon" (a big Bioware no-no).

A game exploring Garrus' misadventures on Omega might be fun, but the fact that it would probably have to end with Sidonis' betrayal to meld with ME2 would likely be a turn-off for newcomers to the franchise - it's okay for us longtime fans who know what comes after, but as far as newbies are concerned, the game just ended with the betrayal of a trusted teammate and no resolution in sight. That's bad story-telling.

Same with a plot exploring his days in C-Sec: it'd be massive fun to climb the ranks as an officer a la L.A. Noire, but his career ended aprubtly with ME1's plot and that wouldn't translate over well to an isolated plot either.

Only way I can see a Garrus spin-off working is if it was re-worked into some kind of AU. Which I am open to the idea of, for the record B)

I wouldn't want a spin-off in the sense of a sequel... Unless Shepard has an unavoidable death. None of this 'LIs reemerging in sequels and breaking up your couple in the process' stuff.

I'm still firmly in the 'Archangel DLC' camp, though. I don't care that I know how it'll end, what a ride it'll be getting there.

EDIT: @AlphaDormante: Maybe they could have the 'Archangel missions' be from the POV of one of his team members. Then rather than the anti-climactic ending of Garrus coming back to find everyone already dead, it can end with that team member and one other (as a squaddie) doing some heroic last stand sort of thing, those two being the ones that were still alive but 'didn't last long'. And Garrus could come in at the end and there's a heartfelt goodbye. I don't think there's enough there to be a whole game, but I'd buy a DLC of it in a heartbeat.

i've heard that they're gonna continue playing in this world for awhile, honestly.... i mean, Shepard's not the only person in the galaxy here... its a HUGE place that they've created and it really would be a shame for them to just tell the story of one human and her crew and leave it at that. that seems like a waste of a world.

You guys realise that the Garrus spin-off idea was joke right? Eh, none the less it sparked discussion, as much as I would love anything like an archangel dlc, it seems extremely unlikely. Yes, Garrus has a fan-base, but if want to look at it that way, so does Jacob, or dare I say it, Kaidan. And in my opinion, they're generic male support characters. People would get angry about characters getting more attention than others, it would be far less hassle (for bioware at least) to just not do it, than have to deal with the massive backlash.

Damn Garrus Spin-off - for me a dream I hope will come true one day.....2015....maybe?
I wouldn't mind having him doing stuff AFTER ME3, after all Garrus dying in ME3 might not be "ultimate canon story event", but only a possibility, if one plays the game that bad.....that is "canon" only for those players who made him die.

Who would like Garrus to die anyway?
Damn I even like Jacob and wouldn't like him to die either

It hasn't been confirmed nor denied, even it were ture, I doubt bioware would say that it is set in stone that he will die. There is a possibilty that there will be a situation where he may die, but I'm sure that if that was in mass effect 3, there still be a way to keep him alive.

i still say i'd love it if it was an option..... just cause.... the angsty romantic in me wants that last scene.
that heartbreaking scene.

.... cause i'm a masochistic silly person.

Hm, I don't know if I'd like to see him die, most of the time after I see or play a piece of media that I genuinely enjoyed, my brain expands on the universe in it's own stupid little imaginative way. I've done this many times with the mass effect universe, (yes, I know it's nerdy, get over it) and I don't think I want garrus' charater to be extinguished. Even if we ignore my strange, strange pass-times, I still feel that there's more that can be done with the character after the ass of the reapers has been successfully kicked.

Plus I'm a pansy, I found it hard to watch garrus getting picked up by the collector swarm in the final mission, and I wasn't even playing the game, this was a youtube video I was watching. God the angst would kill me....

I think something dramatic like deaths scene in the battle against the reapers would be great... I think this will show amazing dialogue and voice acting from the cast...

But seeing Garrus die would be horrible, he is my favourite character.... but if there was a choice type thing where he wants to go save the world but will lose his life in doing so, i would hope that the other choice is that my shepard would decide to go with him...

But something dramatic is all welcome for ME3, so i cant wait...

I can't bear the thought of Garrus dying, I can't even bear the thought of Shepard dying and leaving him all alone again:crying:
Jeebus, I was almost crying during the demo when Shepard found that kid in the vent (a random kid!), clearly ME3 is going to be a rough ride, I just hope we all have the option of a happy ending. I don't think I'd be able to play the game more than once with the knowledge that Garrus and/or Shepard has to die. :(

I know for a fact that i will tear up to some degree while playing ME3 Image IPB

But ye if there are choices of a happy ending i will take it just to save Garrus but like if you havent done something right well would be dramatic if it was the only option left...

to be fair, i'm a wuss. approximately half of the loyalty missions in ME2 made me tear up. hell, they still do.
and i have problems replaying the beginning of ME1
...Nihlus... :(

i just... first of all, its really really silly to think that no one would die in a situation like this.
secondly. i really really am a sucker for the death scene. its why i watch movies that make me cry, and read books and fanfiction. etc. i'm retarded. lol.

Same here... the one thing that gave me goosebumps while reading one of the books was when Kai kill a turain squad with just a knife and melee combat...

But seeing what they will do with him will be great

I've never been this immersed in a game either. ME was the first RPG I ever played, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. A friend of mine lent me ME1, I'd seen the trailers and loved them but I thought it was just another shooter game. When I realized I could play as a woman I was stoked, when I realized I could customize her I was stoked again, but it wasn't until I got to the Citadel that I finally understood that ME is much much more than a shooter game. I love everything about the ME universe, I mean, these games are even better than a lot of movies. Bioware ruined my life, or enriched it, I'm still not really sure:lol:

i cannot see that picture. so i cannot answer yay or nay.

yeah. ME has ruined (fixed) my life. i've spent so much time and money on it... but ya know? not like its a destructive hobby. it has enhanced my creativity and introduced me to some wonderful people. :D
so really.... i can't complain too much.
and its a rather intelligent game, with a huge and rather wonderful universe that has brought out so many great conversations... so yeah.
