Heh, it's the first time I hear about this. Would be pretty awesome. Can you please point me to the source?Eradyn wrote...
Saren was going to be a one-off creature...then BW decided they'd make a pretty awesome species (smart move on BW's part, no lie ;p).

I just couldn't imagine Mass Effect without Garrus or the Turian species. Saren's a badass, and I think I like him even more now.

Lolno, sorry, but I am not pouring through the annals of internet history (or at best if one's fortunate, BW's old forum archives) to satisfy some random gotcha attempt over arbitrary info pulled from old interviews I only vaguely recall. Like...ME1 old. If I'm mistaken and you are genuinely curious, for whatever reason, about that, I recommend searches dating from 2007+. From what I do recall, it was embedded (as in, it wasn't a focal point but was information relayed in the course of other information being discussed) so don't expect it to be in the title. I would try searches related to early ME1 development and related interviews. In either case, sorry, but I'm not devoting the man-hours it would require finding something like that. Certainly, though, if that is not acceptable, feel free to disregard it as it was unimportant data to begin with.

I prefer not to imagine Mass Effect without turians. Well...turians as we know them. Going over the artbook, BW had some...interesting early concept designs. Let's just say there might not have been much of a call for a Garrus romance had they gone with one of them. Like the one I affectionately call Squid-Skull Face, or Mr. Carp Head. Although Mr. Carp Head is kind of cute...

What video is that from? I could probably get it from there. That's a perfect screen, just way too small.

Not sure what video it was pulled from; I just took it from the .gif off this thread.

Yes, I was genuinely curious. Why would you think otherwise? I was curious because I'm a die-hard fan of Saren's and this sounds like an interesting thing that, like others have said, makes him even more special. So it would be neat to know who said so and where, but no, I didn't expect you to go scouring the internet for it. I asked just in case that you remembered, or that it was a well known source I don't know about. "No" would have sufficed beautifully, but I am grateful for the pointers.

It is vaguely implied in the artbook. The phrase goes, "knowing that mass effect's villain would be a turian, artists gave this species special features that would support his intimidating character."
So you could at least draw the conclusion that the race was modeled after what they wanted Saren to look like.

Sorry, I've had to deal with too many nasty, passive-aggressive people on the internet lately. I'm "primed" for it now, so when someone hits the "key words"...

I am slightly confused if it is indeed an actual feature in ME3 or a sub-plot that BW may have experimented with and dropped since the beta. Since I am trying to avoid most spoilers about the game, I really have no way of knowing for sure and would appreciate the help. =p.

What we know of it comes from the leaked script (which was an older and unfinished version), and it seems to be a condition where both are unromanced and hook up. Whether their little hookup has been kept ingame, and if there are any other prerequisites leading to it, aren't known yet. So...basically, we'll find out what way BW took when the final script is leaked or the game comes out. Maybe it's in game. Maybe it isn't. Maybe BW is just trolling us. I really wish I could say more, but unfortunately there is only so much that can be taken from the leak.

And even if it is implemented, we have no clue if its gonna be something you can go chat them about or simply some squad banter thing that pops up when you run over a bridge a la Dragon Age.
Edit: spelling. English is tricky.

I'd prefer it kept to something you can talk to them about. Overhearing my squadmates hook-ups while I'm walking around minding my own business made me feel kind of...dirty
Also, I don't think they would be the types to talk about that stuff out in the open. I doubt Garrus even mentioned a word of his romancing Shepard to anyone else and he probably kept pretty tight-lipped when and if someone (Kasumi, Joker, Ken... most likely) prodded him with questions
I'm happy Turians are in the game! They are seriously one of the best designed alien species I've seen <3

Might need to do a renegade interrupt if I hear said banter about that relationship. Might seem weird to whomever for my shep just to spontaneous punch them for a relationship she's not even in. Jealous Shepard is jealous.

I'm not a fan either, but there are ways to avoid it besides romancing one of them so you shouldn't have to worry about it sneaking up on you in game

I...really just want to know now :< I just hope I don't regret it. Tried flipping through the script for the first time but I was far too afraid to do that.

What do you want to know? I've found that you can either kill X or not recruit her in ME3 (not sure about Garrus, but it may be possible not to recruit him as well) so that would stop any hooking up.

Oh O: Well that's good to know haha I wanted to know who she was but I'm not sure if that's something that's okay for me to know now or will be better when I actually get the game.
