The turian-krogan thing definitely.. confuses me. I am not sure if we heard that right in the demo or maybe the salarians are helping the turians like they did during the original Krogan Rebellions when the STG unleashed the genophage and the Hierarchy sent in troops. I'm.. all sorts of confused on that front. Salarians and turians working together makes sense. Krogan and turians? Ehhh not so much so something crazy is going on. I had already resigned myself to picking the salarians in a potential salarians v. krogan conflict (though I love Wrex to pieces) because of my canon Shepard's view on the genophage cure but.. with the turians in the mix now, I just really don't know what's what.

I'm guessing they have to band together for the greater good and to protect everyone from the Reapers, but the alliance is strained due to the genophage. Not sure why all the heat is going on the turians for that one, especially since the Salarians are the ones holding the key to curing it. I'll never side against the turians, but I don't want to live in a galaxy without the krogan. :(

@Obsydian: I dislike choices unless I can cop out with a Paragon/Renegade 'third option'. :P
@Hellbound555: Garrus, obviously. ::biased:: Thane is a better neck-snapper. xD

We might be surprised by Garrus opinion of what the Turian Hierarchy is doing about the Krogan (which we know nothing of yet) since he does see himself as a 'bad Turian'.

Im definitly looking forward to learning more about Garrus opinion of his home world in ME3.

I didn't comment much on the last Garrus thread but its good to see it back.

The only things I have to say referring to him would be I hope him and shep get to continue with their romance.

I got the feeling he was thinking their encounter was a one time thing. I would like to be given the option for persuasion to have him continue the relationship.

For mshep I would love to have the bromance I have in my head actually reflected in the game! I enjoyed the poke fun moment when Garrus asks about his face plate it felt like buddies there and the upper right option where shep sounds so happy and acts like he wants to hug Garrus but oddly doesn't? Maybe shep thought the skin armor might injure him but he could've at least gave him a hand shake.

I would just like more options to joke with Garrus and vis versa and perhapse swap a few stories with him and choose to confide in him on events during ME3 that I think maybe to much for my LI to hear like what if shep finds out that they did something to him in Arrival? I would rather confide in Garrus depending on the details I find out then expose Tali to such info. There are also things I might think Tali should be confided in with and not Garrus.

I wouldn't be too sure of that.

He said that Shepard was the only person in the whole galaxy he respected and trusted. And based on how emotional he feels if you decline him, it just shows that he really has some feelings for her. So I am pretty sure that this wasn't a 'one time only' thing. B)

But he did seem to imply he didn't think the genophage was a mistake in a conversation with Tali. Granted, that was the Garrus of ME1, all wide-eyed and innocent. ;)

I think 'bad' turian or not, he's still turian. I think he'd still support them over the krogan unless they were doing something drastically evil (gah, I hope not).

@Destroy Raiden: I think it started out that way, but I'm of the opinion that by the final cutscene, the relationship between them was deeper than they had originally acknowledged. I would hope after 6-12 months they've already settled the 'where this is going' question and they haven't just completely ignored the issue in-between games. I'd hate to spend all of our romance dialogues in ME3 dancing around the 'should we make a go of it?' issue when everyone else's LIs are presumably already at 'that place'.

@Destroy Raiden, it seemed a one time thing until the end, but then Garrus showed true feelings about Shepard. Come on, he was so adorkable that I totally melted. I only want to give him hugs. Tons of hugs.

One for me too, I have a cold and I want a warm Garrus hug :___(

Garrus is DEFINITELY NOT a one time thing. Clearly its so much more. That last few seconds of the romance scene, its apparent how much he cares - whether you reject him or not. Personally I would like to see the relationship grow, have him more comfortable of the idea that he's in a relationship for a change and defend it. Obviously others WILL object to the idea of ShepxGarrus, especially humans and turians  due to the whole "First Contact War". If theres a chance to defend to relationship - Im all for it! Bring on all the weird looks and comments! NOTHING should stop Garrus and Shep from being together regardless of differences. They care for each other, and Garrus has pretty much proven he's staying by Sheps side no matter what.

To me, the 'dancing around' was the whole ME2 issue with a romance arc that could be summerized by 'from friend to lover'. Shep had plenty of time to call it off up to the last moment and still keep Garrus' friendship.

Just like Kaidan's romance is all about staying true to your beliefs, i hope Garrus romance will remain about trust and having each others back in ME3. Other then that its hard to speculate what it will be like at this point.

After the Archangel twist we got at the beginning of ME2 its hard to think Bioware could give us a more awsome surprise (well many players knew but Shepard did not :P). But ill be very satisfied with a more mature Garrus. He doesnt need to be rescued again. But if he wants to rescue Shep... i wouldnt certainly not object to that.

Yay! New Garrus thread! *happy dance*

I do hope there is more content in the Garrus romance in ME3, and they make it more obvious it was/is a real relationship, not just a fling. Isn't there a rumour about visiting Palaven in ME3? I hope we get to meet the family!

Aargh, stuck between desperately delving for fragments of information and trying not to get spoilered! I knew Garrus was back in ME2, but not that he was Archangel (didn't take long to work that one out though). That kinda reduced the impact, but I was still squeeing. I also knew about the "Chantry Incident" in DA2. I'd rather avoid that kind of spoilerage. But ... information!

I lurked around the last Garrus thread and posted occasionally, so I'm honored to witness the birth of the newest edition and wish it luck (though I don't think it will be needed ;))

Looking forward to the continued Garrus/turian love!

There is clearly a difference between romancing Jack and romancing Garrus...

...a BIG difference... So yeah, Garrus does care about her. <3

Agreed with both of you. Its been 6-12 months from me2 -> me3. The idea of being in a relationship should be already in concrete. Set in stone. DONE. No more awkwardness about the idea "if they should go for it". No. Thats what ME2 was for.
If you think if it realistically, their relationship is progressing VERY WELL. The 1st game, they started to get to know each other. Become very close friends and having that mentor/student relationship. In ME2, they became even CLOSER and had the whole transition into lovers. Awkward, but done very cute ^_^ It worked for them. I wish more emotion was let out on Sheps side than just telling him to shut up and stop being nervous, but whats done is done. In ME3, its established that they have been dating and it should show. Especially when they meet up again. Some romantic banter or something. I dont know if Garrus is up for public affection, but a simple hug or headbump would be fine in my book.

And I WANT Garrus to save Shep for once. Garrus is way more experienced now - not the little CSec agent we first met that was curious about the world outside rules. He's battle hardened and skills more deadly than ever. He doesnt need Shep to save him every moment. Let Bioware make Garrus' entrance saving HER instead of the usual way around. I vote Shep being surrounded by mercs and they all started dying by headshots all of a sudden. Ante up Garrus' epic level some more like that. he can clearly kill multiple ppl at once, and headshots are his specialty. Even more so is the fact his mate is in trouble so it makes every shot count at the moment.

I'm putting in my vote for Garrus saving Shepard. I'm all for it!

Regarding their relationship, I mentioned this in the other Garrus thread, I think it would be nice if somehow the player is given the opportunity to decide whether their encounter was a one night stand or if it's been an ongoing romance. Like maybe another character could ask Shep about her relationship with Garrus (before we even see Garrus) and the dialogue options could be something like "we're just really goods friends" or "I never imagined I'd be in a serious relationship with a Turian" and then Sheps interactions with him would change depending on how you respond. I mean, my Shep is with Garrus for the long haul, I just think a choice would be cool.

The intro to ME2 actually took place before the "time skip", and established the LI simply through the opening cutscene. From what I've seen it looks like that won't be happening in ME3, but I'd have liked a similar handling of the situation; it would make the transition more seamless in my opinion.

Something like the memory quiz Miranda gives you pre-Freedom's Progress might work well, too.

RE: Garrus saving Shepard... YES. I think there's a problem where Shepard always has to look like the one in charge and be the one doing the saving, it's not just about Garrus. I would hope in the third game we're familiar enough with the characters that one of our loyal squaddies saving Shepard's butt wouldn't feel so much like 'stepping on toes' as it would have if it had happened in ME1.
