Can't wait. Kinect doesn't seem to have issues with emotional speech (opposed to monotone command voice), so all systems are go. And don't feel silly, see it as an acting game.

BTW  - umm.....Did Garrus get like 1000x more handsome than he already was....or is it just me? XD

It also feels natural to read the lines, out of the emotional moment I did not even bother to pick up the controller and just said the line. "It's war. People die."
The conversation rolled on smoothly from there, i was impressed.

Edit: Oh sheet. I just realized what that means for Garrus dialogue.  <3


Have not tried to say something to garrus out of the usual. My bf said something like "gawarbledarble, garrus" and he just said "Will do, Shepard".   Odd. Will try the "Garrus, love me!" line when he is not at home.

Alright, my mental image of your last line is adorable.
You: *hears the door shut...* ⌐.⌐ *pause* ¬.¬ *pause*
....*crickets*...
*resume game*
"Garrus, love me! LOOOOOOOOOVVVEEEE MEEEEEEE!"



Also: So jealous of everyone with Kinect after hearing the amazing things about it. Might have to puppy-eyes the husband for an x-box this year.... so he can play Halo, of course... :innocent:

More great news! I'll have to watch all of the new trailers when I get the chance. I haven't been around as much lately, I guess. I'm missing all the trailer releases. But yay, Renegade ass-kicking and no forced LIs! That's really all I need to see from a FemShep trailer.

Well here's something to discuss without diving headfirst into explicit spoilers (and further embarrassing myself with my lack of ability to get the damned highlight-text right, yeesh):
Assuming one manages to make it to the end game and keep Garrus alive -- what does he do with himself afterwards? Your personal epilogue? (speaking of which, I wonder if the game will include a DA:O-esq epilogue now that it's the end of Shep's story) Does it change if Shep makes it out as well? Do you see him continuing fringe work as a vigilante, re-joining c-sec, concentrating on helping to rebuild/reestablish his own people? *curious*

An epilogue similar to DAO's could be good, especially for major plot choices that effect entire planets and species. For romance futures specifically... well, without spoiling too much, I'll just say that these things get a good amount of discussion in-game.

I can see Garrus and Shepard helping to rebuild the galaxy. After that, Garrus could become a Spectre or continue to be a vigilante working around the rules because of Shepard's Spectre status. I never thought C-Sec worked well for him.

Also, I agree with this. It would be so adorable to know that they adopted a war orphan! My Garrusmance Femshep, Kiara, is an orphan as well because of her colonist background, so this is something she'd really like to do.

And my comment on the Kinect voice discussion: I'd never use it, even if I had Kinect. I know it probably looks great to anyone who likes to play Shepard as themselves, but for me, it's about creating a character and playing their story, not an extension of myself, so it would be really weird and immersion-breaking for me to respond as Shepard. At best, it would come off like an evil overlord assuming direct control over a bunch of super-soldier puppets and making them speak. Even shouting squad commands might mean developing awkward habits of talking to the TV while playing other games.

But I would like to read about what happens when you guys give Garrus commands like "love me." xD

You aren't alone >.< If you go back a page or two I had a mildly embarrasing run of failed greyed-out-text attempts. The feature seems to hate me as well. :/

^ This. My canon Shep is colonist/sole survivor, she very much wants a family eventually and adopting any child who went through something similar to what she did would be right up her alley. And I can't help but think Garrus would actually make an awesome dad. Maybe because I see a lot of my husband in him.... minus the carapace.

Garrus does look great in his level-up screen.  If you want to see video of it, at 3:09 here is demo footage of Garrus getting some points allocated and you can see the starts of his skill trees.

Yeah, I saw that, so I prepared to look at my own post right after it showed up to see if the spoiler would be visible or not. At least it wasn't up for long. ^^; And I'm glad at least one other person knew what I wanted to say there!

I think Garrus would be an awesome dad too. And my Kiara would be a great mother, but maybe a little overprotective.

I just wanted to come on here and share in the joy of some fresh Garrus time with the demo and whatnot... How I missed running around with that guy! Though I was disappointed that "sexy turian lover" wasn't on his level up screen for me to add points to... although then he'd be terrible at combat and great as an LI... so.... hmmm I suppose it's for the best.

...and also wanted to add that whoever designed femshep's hair should be dragged out into the street and shot. Repeatedly. And then chopped up and fed to hamsters. Rabid hamsters... who then have to be put down. And those hamster remains should be shot out into space in all directions so that the person's soul can never find peace.

Ok, that might be a little harsh. Well... no... no actually it isn't.

Ooo I know!  I'm so made about how the hair looks in the demo!  Where is my longer, flowing hair, Bioware?  Why do Miranda and Ashley get the fancy hairstyles?  They are just making us have hair-envy 

And woo hoo it's nice to see others think Garrus would be a great dad <3  I can see my Shepard and him adopting a Turian girl and a Human boy!  I wonder what Grandpa Vakarian would think and if Aunt Solana would offer to babysit   My Shepard has no family (she's Earthborn, except I headcanon that Zaeed is her father hahaha) so Garrus' family will have to step in!

And carapace is confirmed?  Sounds good!  I like Garrus with or without, and it looks like it won't be as super bulky as I previously thought, which means better cuddles <3

I liked the hairstyles that were shown. And keep in mind, that's probably not all of them - people with a lot more tech skill than me have found that the codes jump ahead several numbers, which suggest there are missing options.

Really, easter eggs have been confirmed? I haven't seen that. I don't follow the Kinect news that closely, though.

Im not initially very trusting of the voice control gimmic but if youre telling us it works well then im so happy! Calling out squaddies sounds immersive. Can you tell them things they wont recognize or does it cause problem with your other instructions? (I can see myself wanting to congratulate Garrus for things his headshot)

Wow, and the squadmates will actually respond to "boomstick"?  That's awesome.

Man, I just got through the demo on Insanity with engineer and that Garrus...he is one beast of a squadmate. He was always decent in ME2 but that boy is rolling, diving, flanking, scoping and dropping enemies left right and center. REALLY pleased to see how improved he is with the sniper rifle this time. Plus is feels so great to run up to him, kneel by his side and revive him when he's down instead of using unity from across the map.
