^ I did the same thing, only I turned the camera to where I could see the scars on the side of his face. Then he turned his face to the camera like " HOW RUDE!" I think I hurt his feelings. :'(

Aww, poor Garrus! D': Well, now I'll feel guilty about trying to do the same thing (minus the pictures) when I get ME3.

Those are the best close-up screenshots I've seen yet. BioWare did a great job with his design. The scars look very real.

@k-baggs: I've found that the only part of the armor you can see through with proper camera angles are the helmets and neck-pieces. The rest is just empty inside. They're all floating heads and necks. xD If you position Shepard just right though, you can look through the helmets of dead turians in ME1. I found a few Nihlus clones that way.

Actually, it was really cool finding the others with his markings. I found one during a "turian insignias" mission, which made me think I found the colony Nihlus came from. It might have been a coincidence, but you never know.

I'm calling it, Nihlus was Velarn's (Turian Councilor's) son. Same face markings and age differance would fit.

That's why he's so angry with Shep all the time, blames him for his death. I'll bet $10.

I've heard that theory before. It would at least be interesting, and explain why the turian councillor hates us no matter what options we choose.

I'm guessing Velarn is his last name though, which is different from Nihlus'. Would that mean his parents are divorced, or never married at all? That reporter who keeps getting punched needs to get on this - it could be scandalous! ...Or Nihlus is just his nephew.

:?hmm, I think that I'd at least go with  the Father-Son thing, as for wikia saying that well...

I think this one's definitely a political cover-up. It just sounds better to say "General Desolas died during the First Contact War" than to say "he came back for a while, went crazy transforming soldiers with Reaper tech, and his younger brother had to order the destruction of the whole ancient religious monument before it was too late", doesn't it?
