I’ve seen that one before and I like that particular one but I find most Garrus/femShep AMVs tend to be kind of soppy though. I was thinking about making one myself and try to inject some smexy where it belongs. I made a play through specifically for this with lots of saves in ‘key’ parts ready for capturing.

Hell, I wanted Garrus's scene to show more not less. It's painfully obvious that he only played Miranda's romance, and even then only did it for the acheivement.

Do it! I usually don't like Mass Effect AMVs because all I can think about is how it isn't "my" Shepard, but some of them just work, especially if they include the awesome action sequences.

Okay, I HAD to go read the "sex is porn" thread after these glowing recommendations. I think my favorite part was where the OP compared sex to taking a dump. Yes, this is a totally normal and healthy attitude about sex...at least Shinobu's summary on pg. 7 there is high posting excellence.

I don't know what will happen, but I have my fingers crossed for the Garrus romance in ME3 having at least a little more than a fully-dressed headbump.

Like you said. I think most people want a well done romance with a touch of sexy. Just like in a book or movie.

Also, I think by now not many people would be offensed by an <alien romance>. They will incorporate s/s in ME3 so why not take down that taboo too? People had 3 games to avoid Garrus/Tali/Liara if they dont like the idea...

I don't mind that picture, though I highly doubt that the ME3 romance scene will be quite that racy. But hey, that's what fanart is for, right?  I'd be happy with something that's halfway between that and a headbump. Sexy and tasteful.

As for backlash? I really don't think there will be any à la the "sexbox" scandal. Some people might be a bit weirded out and post whiny threads on BSN, but I think that'll be it.

@jellobell Aww, thanks for the love!  I'm glad you liked it! I totally agreed with your reasoning in the porn thread. I think our job is done there.

@PalAvian Please do make AMVs -- I'm dying for a new one! I'm hoping ME3 will have luscious cutscenes of Garrus & FemShep that we can use (*drools*). I don't have any smexy vids (not much to work with in ME2), but I do also have action, badassery and obliviousness.

@silentstephi Is there any way to get a copy of your "Life in the 22nd Century" vid? I miss it like crazy.

My God, that is beautiful. I'm not sure I want to see all of that animated, though (because then it would come with... err...noises).

About the backlash, you know the BSN! We'd have: "how dare they use/not use the missionary position" etc.

The pic: Yeah, that doesn't qualify as porn to me at all. A little racy, sure. But tastefully (artfully!) so. Though I agree: I doubt we'll get anything quite like that in game. And, honestly, I'm perfectly fine with very mild romance imagery: To me it's the percieved emotion behind the actions that matters more than seeing it play out. I'd have been perfectly happy with the 'head bump' if it'd been more lingering/if the animation had better portrayed the intimacy intended.

Backlash: Eh, who knows? People will always find something to get up in arms about. BSN see's quite a lot of negative posts aimed towards Garrus, the whole lot of it comes off - to me - as little more than people venting their frustrations with feeling their own favourite characters - LI's especially - are getting shafted. It's... immature and regretable, but not impossible to understand. As for any scandal regarding human/alien romance/sexuality... hell, you can get waaaaay more of a shock just googling Luis Royo pics *laughs* -- but, eh, people get uptight about weird things.

This. There was a lot of it leading up to ME2 as well, made worse by the fact that nobody knew who the final LIs were going to be, so there was a lot of animosity between fans of Samara and Tali and Garrus over who would get the coveted "last slot".

Ive seen the hate come and go and I can understand people being frustrated that their favoirte character doesnt get as much attention then Garrus (specially since it happend twice. Once with the VS and Liara crowd and now withthe ME2 exclusives crowd).
I have to say most of what I read from Garrus fans in other threads has always been very understanding lately. It kinda makes me like the people in this thread even more

Actually, I am TERRIFIED that Garrus will die on my first playthrough of ME3. I think of all the squaddies, he's the most likely to have a target painted on him *because* he's so popular.

I too am hoping for something that falls somewhere between romantic and sexy. Something that shows passion while remaining tasteful. Don't get me wrong headbumps are cute but we can't JUST have that again.

I'm afraid he'll have an "almost unavoidable" death and I'll choose wrong. I was the same way about DA:O. I was so attached to Alistair I spoiled myself in a desperate attempt to have the relationship work out. (Which was probably good, because my playthrough at the time was heading straight off a cliff -- drunk Alistair, anyone?) I did regret "cheating" to get the happy ending, so I'm not going to do it for ME3, but I'm rapidly becoming a neurotic wreck.
I know it's pathetic for a happily married woman to act this way over a handful of pixels, but there you go.
