Anyone else see Garrus' narration skills in this Gamestop video?

Hey guys, I am new to this thread (well not really, I lurk with the best.) and I am glad that this thread it here, I am able to get my Garrus fill without peaking at the spoilers. I am hopeful for the romance in ME3, but also a bit worried. Do any of you think that shaping Garrus (renegade or paragon) will effect the romance mechanics? I think it would add depth to the characters and the decisions that you made as a team. I realize this would be difficult, but if BW can make three games that tie in all major decisions, they could pull it off.

The script doesn't have anything to suggest paragon/renegade changes the romance. Or even changes Garrus that substantially- if anything, I think the paragon/renegade bonus would play out in some form of epilogue.

One of the big problems with Garrus renegade/paragon is that PS people will never get the initial decision. I can't remember what the default is, but I believe its renegade. So its likely Sidonis will play out the most in terms of his alignment, or quest dialogue. [if any]

Well I hope that all the things that you can do to help him along the way will show up somewhere in game. My favorite FemShep is renegade to the bone and made sure both Sidonis and Dr. Saleon got what they deserved. She is a Colonist/ Sole Survivor and this made her cold.

I have to assume having everyone die around you could make you a little upset!

But being "weird" seems to be a pre-requisite for the Garrus fandom. Along with being a bit of a lush.

I just really like the cause and effect of the Colonist/Warhero backstory (couldn't save her family so she always makes sure that her soldiers make it out alive).

It's interesting to see so many Garrusmance Sheps are Colonist/War Heroes! And yeah, I also think it's really cool that mine seems to be a more Renegade mirror image in a group of mostly Paragons. My MainShep turned out especially ruthless towards batarians, and the one who romanced Garrus is only slightly less hateful. After they helped him track down and kill Saleon in ME1, they told Garrus to remember how good that revenge felt, and his conversation leading up to the Sidonis confrontation really fit their Renegade approach. Hearing my Shepards say they would have done the same thing, and Garrus telling them that he "learned from the best", was just perfect.

I'd like to see what's going through Garrus' mind when he sees my Shepards in action. xD They could be giving inspiring speeches one minute, and the next, kicking mercs out of windows.

My canon Shep is a Colonist/War hero too!! I never read any fanfic, but I always thought the most popular background were Spacer or Earthborn/War hero. It's so sweet  to notice that a lot of people have their Sheps to share the same background and yet the outcome can be so different to each one. Mine is the kind of lovely and polite person who always try to avoid violence until she decides to show her teeth. She believes in peace but she's not naive to point of thinking she can solve anything with diplomacy or that everyone deserves a second chance. She didn't care about Sidonis and would kill him herself, but she worried too much about what would become of Garrus if she let him kill the guy.

I love that kind of character who is smart and dangerous as hell but can easily be seen drinking tea and talking about gardening with your grandma. I think that's a good definition of how I headcanon my Shep.

I like. I like a lot.

Its pretty near of my canon Shepard colonist/sole survivor. Shes a diplomat with a good heart but if you make things personal with her, its gonna hurt.

I think if we were to make a Garrus Shepard, he would definitely be a Spacer/Sole Survivor. Spacer because he comes from a military family and his parents are still alive, and Sole Survivor because of his mission on Omega. And his class would be Infiltrator, of course.

Really? I'm surprised. Most of us here who read the spoilers were really happy with them. I thought they were perfect. Keep in mind, anything that feels disjointed or broken up weirdly is because we're reading a script, and it will make more sense when we can actually see the scenes changing and what the characters are doing as they speak.

Was the script you read the well-organized one with character names added in before their lines, or was it the original which didn't have any of that? I've heard a lot of people who didn't read the organized version were a bit confused by it.

His old agent armor was cool too, I like how they are creating it for ME3 though. It shows that there are layers instead just these HUGE plates of armor. I guess that is also why I liked his blown up armor too, it showed that he wasn't encased in metal.

My MainShep's a biotic, so I pictured the disaster on Mindoir as being the first time she used her powers in any capacity other than practice (since she had to have had her implants in at puberty), and that they were the only reason she's still alive when the rest of her family didn't make it.

By the way, is it just me or does anyone else find the idea of Space-Hollywood making a Shepard movie in-game fascinating? It was mentioned in one of the ads in ME2, and I can't help but think that it would be full of hilarious inconsistencies.

Yeah, my MainShep wouldn't have used her biotics for anything besides practice until the batarians invaded Mindoir. She's a Sentinel, and I can just see her throwing things at the batarians with her biotics, making tech stuff explode in front of them, and trying to lock all the doors behind her until they broke them open. So sad. She was always a fighter though. I imagine she killed quite a few batarians herself.

My Shepards would have to go see a movie about themselves. It'd be so awesome! They would bring Garrus and all their friends and probably laugh at all of the things the movie got wrong.

nvm i didnt understand you meant the movie would be ingame. I guess in that case it might be funny since the writers would make fun of their own creation.

For some reason I see Shepard getting drunk and singing Karoke about (in my case) herself with Garrus and the crew on the Normandy.. This song came to mind www.youtube.com/watch The thought makes me giggle so hard!!!  

Personally, I read a small section of the spoiler (I couldn't resist!).. I think with the 'right' pauses and animations, it's going to be good but there will always be those who feel it's not quite enough. My femsheps have all been Earthborn/War Hero. She wants to prove to not only everyone else but to herself that regardless of being a little brat that she could make something of herself and help others, She's mostly paragon, except for the Archangel mission where it was every renegade interrupt! You don't mess with her friends. The other one I did was spacer/sole survivor.. 

BTW, this is my first time here with you guys!  Yay!

I imagine that Shepard would be invited to the premier (she'd totally bring Garrus along as her escort). And I bet the Hollywood version would shoehorn in a romance with Kaidan and/or Jacob.

I figured (in my colonist Shepard's own personal canon) that right after Virmire was when she started connecting with Garrus as more than just another person under her command. She needed someone to talk to, and Ash, her defacto conversation buddy was giving her the cold shoulder, and Wrex was a poor choice when dealing with feelings that don't involve wanting to shoot something.

Welcome CameronC47!  I made my femshep exactly like yours  -- 99% paragon/1% renegade - Yep I had to let Garrus do what he needed to do!

And I hope the M3 Garrus/Shepard romance is enough, I'm so worried!
