Yeah, I'm doubting we'll see female turians in the game.  To me this is pretty inexcusable given what we know about turian society, and also just on the basis of us going to turian territories in ME3 where there really should be men and women present.  It's as silly as that time we visited the Migrant Fleet in the second game and there weren't any male quarians there - oh wait.

Chris Priestly said that when he was playing ME3 he didn't see any female turians, and someone here who read the leaked script said she didn't find any female turian characters in it (I feel like that was Sarendoctrinator?  y/n?).  It's a shame, I was looking forward to seeing them.  There was a time when I thought, "nah, they have to be designing female turians, we should be going to Palaven, it'd make no sense if they didn't put turian women in the game."  Sigh.

And yeah, Patrick Weekes said turians have live births, he also said Garrus' natural scent is of pine and that his mouth would taste of mesquite if you "kissed him deeply." Ohh, the stuff he teased us with because he knew we were crushing on Garrus...^_^

@YvetteAngel: Heya, not to knock those pics you just posted? I mean, they are awesome, don't get me wrong... but maybe next time you could post links instead of the pics themselves, in reference to pics 2 and 3? I... have a curious five-year-old that wanders about. Thanks! :)

@jellobell: Ermm....I know a very brief thing about Solana, but it's spoiler dialogue.  I just doubt we'll actually meet her given what I've heard so far.  Yeah, I know.  All the sad faces.  :(:(:(

:( I've seen mention of Solana - as in someone speaks of her - but, yeah, no appearances.

His natural scent is... of pine? o.O I... don't really know what to make of that... though now I see him festooned in garlands of lights. >.<

No air fresheners needed in the Mako, just bring Garrus.

Female turians better be in the game.... I mean, cmon Bioware, seriously? Is it that hard to make a turian's fringes shorter and waists wider? Just use a male turian and make adjustments...sheesh...

but...the smell of pine air fresheners gives me headaches. :? I always imagined an amber, mild-myrhh type musk with a metallic overtone.
I really do wonder what the folks at www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/ would come up with if they did an ME line. :o

I second the bolded part. It’s really scandalous.

"turians have live births" ouch, that creeps me out a bit :pinched:

His natural scent pine and tastes of mesquite? Now that you mentioned it I remember reading it some place.
Isn’t Garrus heavenly or what?

Hell, at this point, I'd be THRILLED if they used Nihilus's turian model and used female voice actors. Just so we could go with that. No new model needed! D:

I am a bit disappointed. Turian females wouldn't have to look much different (just shorten the headspikes). But maybe it is because bioware thinks, every female must have boobs. Even reptilians. *shakes head in disbelief*

Or it is the cross-development for consoles that is in the way. A new model is a new model, and it takes up precious memory - if Bioware already had to scrap the holster animation to claw back 3MB of RAM to use elsewhere... you get the idea.

Makes me wish that Mass Effect was a PC exclusive title. They would have been a lot less restained. :-/

:) hear-hear, to me there’s no need to have different model appearance for fem turians. Look at domestic cats, besides a minor difference in size the females don’t look that different from males. Easiest job in world, make them more or less the same, fem voice, perhaps different style clothing. Bingo!

Exactly. It's a lazy solution, but it's still better than nothing.

Well, I guess it's useless complaining at this point, when the game is already finished, but if I don't see any turian female in ME3, someone's gonna get hurt for it.

I think what makes the lack of female aliens, specially turians, even more vivid to me is the size of the universe. I can understand it not being possible in the first game with all the work the devs had to do and i was so pleased by the universe that I didnt feel the lack too much. But by the time we get to ME3, and the specific subject of rescuing people (which we tend to associate with saving the child and women first because of our occidental culture), I am feeling pretty dissapoint.

^ Pretty much this.

But I'm not hugely upset. It would be nice, definitely, for a greater sense of realism/immersion for the species - and I just really wanted to meet Garrus' sister - but, hell, I'm just happy Garrus made it as a full squadmate for all three games. I'm not inclined to complain overmuch when my primary concerns with the game all seem to be handled well. :)

I agree with you. Sometimes I forget Mass Effect is the greatest game I've ever played and I'm here complaining. XD

@Outmane and PalAvian: Aw, man, now I really want to see Turian kids! But... maybe not. Because of the galactic crisis and kids dying. :/ I know a lot of people felt the boy in the demo was 'forced' but I was pretty torn up about it. I have two boys. They hit their 'demographic' with me, I guess. So.. yeah... Turian kids would be awesome, but I'd rather not see them come to harm. *softie*

@Blankeflos: We all do it sometimes *laughs* But, yeah, when I start to nerd-rage a little over something relatively minor I stop and go 'oh, wait, the series is frickin' fantastic and, compared to some other fans, I really have nothing to b*tch about' --> perspective. All in all, Garrus fans, we're pretty frickin' lucky.

I'm in favor of occasional, focused nerd-raging because I think the presence of turian women would add to the diversity of characters in the game and make a great game even greater. Them being missing is going to annoy me forever, but what am I going to do, the game's done and out there. I still know that I'm going to really like ME3 when I'm playing it and that it's going to be awesome. Just a week and a half left!

OMG SAYING IT AGAIN A WEEK AND A HALF LEFT

btw, what's the spoiler policy on this thread going to be after the game's released? Obviously some of us will want to squee about stuff while others will have yet to play the game.

edit: oh dear totp let's see what i have...
