Earth--Spoiler--Spoiler is essentially Prologue-->Lazarus Base-->Freedom's Progress in ME2. So during that time you will not be able to switch squad mates around, but you will gain and lose them randomly because of events that happen.

You'll be able to recruit Garrus during the main storyline.

Thanks. I was merely hoping he'd still be onboard, as the way the storyline progressed post-SM would imply so. Everyone is still onboard when Arrival happens, and I can't quite imagine dropping everyone off so Shep can fly to Earth. Since this is not canon, seems I'm out of luck. Silly turian. Won't be able to enjoy the first hours of the game without him. *rushhhhhhhhhh*

Edit: Just picturing it like this:

Shep: "Alright guys, I'm going to visit earth for a vacation. I will be having several long talks, despite the reapers invading earth right now. But you have to take a space taxi to some random location in the galaxy so I can come and pick you up later. It will absolutely not be difficult because of the Reapers lurking everywhere."

Okay, they have their own agendas, but "build your team" is getting stale. I'd like to start the game without the hassle of recruiting people for once. That's just me, though.

 The Shep dialogue made me lawl. And I agree: I'm pretty tired of constantly running around building up your team, especially with established squadmates. At the very least it would have been nice if Garrus and Tali were already on the damned ship since that's where you left them in ME2 (assuming they made it, of course) and they're permanent squadmates again in 3. But from what I've seen of the spoilers they have good reason for leaving the normandy. Well... Garrus does. Tali's... makes sense but feels a little more forced, to me. Not that I mind much. *♥'s Tali*

Actually in my current between-arrival-and-ME3 headcanon, Dana Shepard - after reading the information in the Shadow Brokers lair and then the events of Arrival - actually asks Garrus to leave for a while, to go see his mum and family. etc. Convinces him to do it while there's still some time. Says she has some things to deal with on Earth anyway --  'just business' -- which I imagine Garrus doesn't buy completely, but - wonderfully loyal as he is - I don't see him being the sort to smother her. So while neither likes it, the seperation is for good reason so they can both deal with other pressing concerns. Seems to tie in well with what I've seen about Garrus' activities post-ME2 and pre-ME3, assuming the leaked info remains true.

Okay, I'll adapt "my" story to this. Makes more sense.

Makes it more bitter that I kept Ash instead of Kaidan, thoguh. Not that I'd romance him, but he's a heck more pleasant to look at. Now I'm stuck with Ash for 90% of my playthroughs. Not to mention the meta... starting out on insanity with two soldiers and a sentinel will be a bit ...off. *hoping to get Liara soon enough*

"Liara! Singularity!" Is already stuck in my head.

Oh, totally unrelated side note: I played though the demo the other day without kinect, and was a bit confused I could actually use the right stick to make dialogue choices.

Can't decide now... have more fun with kinect or smoother sailing dialogues thanks to the gamepad's swift response time? *ponders*

I won't mind having to recruit Garrus all over again if he gets an awesome entrance, like he did as Archangel or like Liara does in that ign footage.

Or maybe something like this:

Love the Battle Couple thing.

By the way, anyone know why BSN went down? It forced me to actually get some work done.

Oooooh, like. Like so much. ^_^ Hey, absence makes the heart grow fonder and all of that, right? I'm just looking forward to some having broken through the awkwardness and being no longer able to keep their paws off each other, but maaaaaaybe that's just me. No, I'm sure it's not. Posted Image

In any case, I don't think we'll have to wait all that long to pick up our turian again. The demo's not going to be showing us anything that happens midway through the game. I think.

It's definitely worth the time building up the Asari Adept  her throw can whip those shields off the guardians like no other, and her stasis make the phantom and nemisis easy as pie to blast their heads right off. I love her so much!

@NekOoNinja, I share a gamertag with my honey too.  He said he'd drop $60 for me to get my own if I wanted, maybe it's time:O

@NekOoNinja: *grins* Part of the advantage of playing the game in casual mode is that I don't worry too much about what squadmates I have with me. I'm better able to work with what I have and - when I can finally pick - can stick with preferred squaddies. As opposed to looking at Liara and wishing she was Samara. >.<

@Jellobell: Oh man, several pages ago -- soon after I first started posting here -- some people put up some awesome "battle couple" pics... I'll have to dig back and see if I can find them.
And agreed: I hope he has a kick-@ss intro. Loved, loved, loved his recruitment mission in ME2 (especially since I didn't know who Archangel was... that's one thing I'm glad I wasn't spoiled on).

@CallaS: Thanks! :)

Finally got a turian sentinal, and it is officially my favorite! Gamertag is GinningComet3 if anyone wants to play. Just say you're from the BSN.

Edit: Forgot to add that my human female sentinal points carried over to him so he's at level 20. Silver here I come!

I spoiled the heck out of the Archangel mission, but it never gets old. I gigglesnorted when I first heard the name "Archangel" though, in the days leading up to ME2. At first I was like, "Archangel? Pffft, sounds like someone who takes himself waaay too seriously. Wait...it's Garrus? LOL".

As for battle-couple pics, here are a few that I've found.

A classic. I recall seeing this one around even before ME2 came out. *sigh* I miss my Colossus armour.

I read a little bit a while ago about Krogan society regarding their females (in this thread, before it got too long and i stopped reading lol) and I'd like to put in my two cents on this.

In the demo yes we sort of see the female Krogan and I'll agree her garb is very middle eastern but i do not see this as a sign of male dominance or sexism. The Western world tends to view the primarily Muslim practice of covering their women as cruel but i know several Muslim women who feel that it is cruel to overexpose a woman. So its all a matter of perspective. But in regards to Krogans, I think the females are covered out of reverence and respect. They make it very clear in 2 that the females have all the say in who they mate with and why, I'm pretty sure if a male ever hit or even forced himself on a female he'd probably be killed because they are so precious. Not to mention you have to remember that the genophage (an interesting term to any Biology nerd "geno" - gene, "phage" - virus. So "gene virus") changed a lot for the Krogans, theres no telling how their society was regarding equality between the genders before it made fertile females a rarity.

My head-dialogue for the pic was:
Shep: "Dammit, Garrus! Turian's don't retreat!"
Garrus: "Right. This is called advancing in the opposite direction!"

@Kiraiko44: Yeah, that very much chimes with my own thoughts on females in krogan society. *fistbump*

I would post some pictures of Garrus/Turians that I found on Pixiv, but new users aren't allowed to post pics. Guess I'll have to link them instead.

On re-recruiting your squadmates: I'm also tired of this, but it makes sense to me: after Arrival both Shepard and the Normandy are grounded, I wouldn't expect the whole crew to stand on Earth waiting... or am I missing something? I just played Arrival once.
Anyway, apparently your first missions will be with Vega and the VS. I don't mind that, because I guess Vega will be a nice character and Kaidan's looking so incredibly hot my Shep will have a hard time staying loyal to Garrus... And I'll play as infiltrator, so the trio infiltrator-sentinel-soldier will work just fine. B)

About the krogan females... That's a polemic topic. Remembers me the ****Walk last year. I honestly still don't know what to think, maybe when I see how it works in the game with more context, then I'll be able to say something.

I don't think it would make a lot of sense for team Dextro to be still on board the ship... After all, you went back to earth, got military detention and oh yes, your ship was confiscated by the Alliance. If they even came with you they probably got sent back in a space taxi or something!

Also hi! I used to lurk, now not so much... the thoughts currently going through my head are what the heck I'm supposed to do with Kaidan & Garrus.. It's driving me nuts!!!

Hi! It's nice to see we share some ideas. :)

The good thing about Mass Effect is that you can have a Shepard for each LI. B)

Re: Kaidan & Garrus --> Yeah, still no contest for me. Garrus wins. Short of BW suddenly completely mangling Garrus in personality and mien I just don't see it being an issue. My Shep's going to feel bad if it hurts Kaidan, admittedly but that's about that. She still cares for him but to her it's a might-have-worked relationship... if death and cerberus and collectors and horizon and Garrus hadn't happened. Such is life.
I've got a playthrough where another Shep doesn't move on to anyone in ME2, so I'll eventually enjoy the Kaidan romance. Sooner or later. I'll definitely be running with my canon, Garrus-LI Shep first. :)

My paragon femshep romanced Kaidan, i just wanted to see what was going on with it, then cheated on him with Thane lol I don't like Kaidan tbh. Or Liara, Ashley rocks though.

With my main Shepherd (Renegade femShep named Akane) she didn't romance anyone in 1 and romanced Garrus in 2. Liara and Kaidan just didn't fit her and i knew theyd have different LIs in 2 so i was holding on and hoping Garrus would be an option so of course she romanced him lol

My other 3 playthroughs all moved on but I'm planning on doing one where they don't, just to see what happens lol

Am I the only one who does this? Creates a new Shep to explore each aspect of the storyline? lol cause i also try to have them make different decisions throughout the game, not just with their romance
