The people who are super concerned with Shepard being "ladylike"...I have one question: What color is the sky in your world, where Shepard has EVER been ladylike? She's a marine, FFS. She hasn't got time to screw around with femininity (or masculinity, for that matter). She is doing a JOB.
Good god, if you want women to be dainty and delicate and walk like they have no muscle tone, there are games out there that will accommodate that desire--legitimate ones that are worth playing. Go try them out instead of soiling yourselves about Shepard behaving like a professional instead of a moe babydoll. I guarantee they'll generate less cognitive dissonance with your headcanon.

Personally I have no problem with Shep acting 'ladylike' when she wears a little black dress while infiltrating a party (Kasumi's mission) or going on a date. Actually I find the dress she gets from Kasumis dlc very fitting. I also take it off right after that mission and never use it again.
What I dislike of the new little black dress is the stripe on it that looks ver 'N7-ish'. Why replicate the feeling of her N7 armor like it was a 'work uniform' ? I really dont get it. FemShep isnt gonna wear that while commanding her ship.

I competely agree. The only thing that bothers me is the way FemShep dances. It looks silly and horrible. But that goes for Sheploo and FemShep. Otherwise I kinda like the "manly" animations. But I like when gender barriers are broken and I don't like to gender body language/behavior. But I can understand why some people want this so hopefully there is a balance so we're all happy.

When I first got Kasumi's little black dress, I wore the heck out of that thing (mostly because it was something different) but I remember the final cutscene at the end of the game where Shep is walking amongst the wreckage. She looked so damn hilarious wearing heels and a dress while trying to look like she's doing work. She's all like "Nothing to see here, just looking FABBULOUSS."
The only thing I am a little weirded out by is the "ass-crack" panties that Shep is wearing. It's a little strange to have a lace panel ONLY on the buttcrack portion of the underwear, not exactly utilitarian...or is it? What are you trying to say Bioware? :-P
Thank you so much Kiraiko for plugging the group earlier and thank you so much People4Peace for uploading pics to it too :-D You guys are the best!

@ciaweth: While I don't have a big problem with the femShep animations and have no problem chalking it up to a Shepard that just doesn't know how or care to walk in a stereotypically 'feminine' manner.... there's no need to knock people who want the option, like YvetteAngel said. Some female marines I know, IRL, do happen to come off as incredibly feminine -- and they can still probably kick a lot of peoples asses. Some people may want to see their femShep that way and there's nothing wrong with it. It's just a balance thing.
So I agree that the animations themselves are nothing to get hugely upset about; but it's an RP game and not everyone sees their Shepard the same way.

I’m one of those who don’t care about this particular issue. I’d be far more crossed with her acting overtly feminine, a deal braker, I’d throw the damn game disc out of the window.

I like having an option between the two. I personally don't like that swimsuit-dress or the body model, but I loved the Kasumi dress and I don't hate Femshep being lithe in theory. I'm a girly girl too, so I do get somewhat sadface when people seem to hate the idea of dresses even being an option. Shep should be able to express, at least aesthetically, whatever personality type you want.
I do, however, take a firm stance against buttcrack window. That's just ...I don't even know. I imagine Garrus would miss the point and be like, "Don't freak out but your underwear is defective11"
