I like having an option between the two. I personally don't like that swimsuit-dress or the body model, but I loved the Kasumi dress and I don't hate Femshep being lithe in theory. I'm a girly girl too, so I do get somewhat sadface when people seem to hate the idea of dresses even being an option. Shep should be able to express, at least aesthetically, whatever personality type you want.

I do, however, take a firm stance against buttcrack window. That's just ...I don't even know. I imagine Garrus would miss the point and be like, "Don't freak out but your underwear is defective11"

Yes this exactly! <3  At least manshep as a peek-a-boo window too...

Anyway, Garrus...

@ciaweth: Yeah, I was speaking purely from the idea of some people wanting more feminine animations when Shep is wearing a dress. Not all the time.
And that there isn't anything wrong with people wanting options. They may not get them -- but nothing wrong with wanting them. In a game that calls itself an RPG there are a plethora of choices and preferences that shouldn't be shoved into boxes labeled 'right' and 'wrong'. I like my Shep awkward in a dress. Others want a 'girly girl' when she's off-the-job. Both - and the variances in between - are all valid and not 'canon' breaking.

Anyway, getting pretty off-topic here. So a question out of simple curiosity:
If presented with a situation where Shepard is given the choice between saving, I don't know, a transport full of soldiers and civilians... or saving Garrus... which do you honestly think you'd go with?
(and no one panic: I haven't the foggiest bloody clue if anything like this shows up in game. I'm just curious. :) )

This. Besides, these are a mass of "helpless people" after all.  Why would I sacrifice someone like Garrus to save a bunch of walking meatshields? Garrus is far more useful to the cause.

Okay guys, I am going to throw a completely random question at you guys (sorry if it offends anyone). I have always liked that other species were different heights, but you could never REALLY tell unless it was in a cutscene (and even then it can be difficult.) I was finally able to get one that showed JUST how much taller Mordin is than Shepard. It makes me wonder how tall Garrus is if he is around the same height. For S***s and giggles, lets say bro!Shep is around the 6 foot somethin' range.

Image IPB

Mordin is BIG! I never really noticed until this cutscene. Thoughts?

I've always noticed, during the squad screen when you leveled them up. Mordins head-things go outside of screen range.  Or at least, thats what always was the case for my tv or somethin.

And here I thought they looked so little while I was saving Tali in ME1!!  lol  But I know they are not.

And of course the turians are tall magnificent creatures<3  so Garris to me seems around 6'7 if I were to put a marker on it!

Salarians' height always impressed me! I'm only used with the metric system so I won't be able to answer you properly, but my guess is, if we assume broShep is as tall as Mark Meer (1.80m), Mordin and Garrus are probably 2.00m tall or something llike that.

Aww, I missed the cool discussion! Stupid afternoon activities. <_<

Yeah, I always play a paragon (a painfully nice, helpful, harcore paragon), but I'd be lying if I said she'd choose anyone over Garrus. I think the only thing that Garrus might actually lose to is the entire rest of the universe (for instance, if sacraficing Garrus were the only way to stop the Reapers).

And I don't think she'd find some way of justifying it. I think she'd know she was doing something she considered morally wrong, and do it anyway. She'd probably be messed up over it for a long time afterward, but the decision would not be a hard one.

I keep accidently posting things that aren't in the current flow of the conversation. Sorry for messing up the flow, ya'll.

I don't think I could ever kill Garrus under any circumstance. Any other character but Garrus is up for grabs, but I've just been through too much with him. If I had to sacrifice Garrus I would probably never want to play the game again, and once more, never be able to play ME1/2 with as much gusto.

@SgtElias: No worries! Always glad to see more responses. :) The consensus pretty much seems to be that people will save Garrus. I think I'm one of the few (only?) who said mine would save the others.. and even then I fully admit I might not be able to go through with it. I think there'd be some hard personal repercussions either way on that one. For my Shep at least.

@LadyVakarian: Huh, I had no idea Salarians were supposed to be that tall. I've learned something new!

Actually I can see many of my sheps sacrificing Garrus. But it wouldnt be by leaving him behind. It would probably be because he is one of the few they would trust with a suicide mission.

Heres my resoning. As a player, I would send one of my less enjoyed squaddies to die in a suicide mission. But if I actually had to make sure something happened to save the galaxy then I wouldnt send Tali or Kaidan (or etc etc). Because I dont know if they would succeed. Or that they wont flinch at the last moment.

Those I feel would never flinchon something the accepted to do (and who would initially accept to take on a suicidal mission) are Garrus, Mordin and Legion.

Who do you guys see as totally reliable in that way ?

I'd trust Samara with a mission like that.

I mean, I would, if I hadn't accidently killed her in my game. :(

Edited to say: Not only Samara! Just she's someone you didn't mention. :)

I feel like all of the squadmates are totally reliable, but not all of them are... I don't know how to explain this. Do you know when you start the SM in ME2 and sends Garrus to lead the fireteam and you not only know he'll do his best as you know he'll get job perfectly well done?

The only ones I see this way are Garrus, Thane, Samara and Jack. I knoooow, Jack is a strange choice, but I really trust that girl.

Since Garrus would be by my side, I would choose Ashley as being totally reliable.  She's 101% soldier.
All my squad are 100%, but since I can only choose one in this scenario......

That's a good point. It's hard not having him by my side. But you kind of had to do that with the Suicide Mission. He always leads the second fire time in my games. I guess I might leave Kaidan back for something like that now, but only now that he's a major and heads a spec. ops. biotic branch. He can probably carry his own now.

@ Blankflos I love Jack too. Had her by my canonFemShep side for the end of ME2. But shes the kind of girl i would keep by my side, not necessarly send alone. She gives energy to Shepard ans Shepard gives her direction. If you see what I mean.

@txmn After Kaidan turning away from me in ME2... I jsut coudlnt trust him like that. What if someoen from the Alliance calls and told him not to do it? I know its not rational, but that trust is pretty much broken. at least for my canonFemShep. I have a faithful one but im waiting to see how he is gonna get her trust back.

I just played the demo to check manshep next to Garrus.  Garrus is way bigger.  I always think of manshep as 6'2" because Vanderloo is supposed to be that tall(?).  My femshep I think of as about 5'10"   Garrus, I headcannon at least 6'4"  <3

Edit: hmmm I'm going to measure 6'4" against the wall and lean my head on it to see where my head would land on Garrus's chest, I have an image in my head, now I have to make it so.  I might have to add a few inches to Garrus.  Now where is that tape measure....

2 meters is about 6.5 feet (woooow). I love the fact that Garrus is so tall. But I just find height sexy in general. I'd die if Shep and Garrus did something like this in ME3.

The best picture of garrus and Shep height diffrence i think is whenthey walk back from taking care of Hawkin in garrus loyalty mission

Garrus is impressivly tall and handsome :innocent:
