My condolences, if the spoilers are true. Loyal communities like this, the Tali one, and the other ones reeeeaaaaaaaaaally don't deserve to get spit on like this.

I don't plan on reading the spoilers, but I feel like I can't return to this thread. I was blissfully unaware of the major spoilers and now I feel like I can't even come here. This makes me sad, but unless there is a way to convince me to stay, goodbye fellow Headbumpers...:crying:

I've never before advised anyone not to read spoilers. However: if these are fake, you'll have spent energy reading and thinking about them (regardless of whether you like them) for nothing. If they're real? Just...don't read them.

As things are currently stated, yeah, what's offered up looks pretty bad.

But seriously guys, let's try to keep some modicum of perspective here. Doesn't anyone else get kind of a 'mob mentality' (or borderline mass hysteria) vibe from this or is that just me? Again, I have no idea what is true or not. But I definitely don't think anything absolutely cohesive has been presented. And I definitely see a lot of people building up on a collective momentum of negativity. Deep breathes. Nothing is absolutely certain yet.

Don't read the spoilers imho.

This. They pretty much killed my excitement for the game.

Me too.  Seriously.  Seriously.  I think I'm done.  I'm pessimistic, but I would love to be proven wrong.  Feels like false hope, though.

It is very possible it is a mob mentality/massive troll. But we have only so much to work with, and at the moment there is little to refute. At best, the outcry would cause bioware to say something.

But so far there's been nothing.

You know what, guys, I just remembered - everyone who's gotten a Space Edition copy supposedly was required to sign an affidavit pledging that they won't post spoilers online until release date. This includes videos and screenshots.

It also means Bioware is allowed to take legal action on anyone who blabs...so why haven't they yet? And furthermore, if people are ignoring THAT medium of spoiling, why aren't there videos and the sort lying around? One would think that they may as well spoil with video evidence to back it up.

Of course, I don't know how rigid BW's legal team is, and I should also say that I'm desperate for hope at this point. But it's something, right...? ;~;

(LOL look at me using incorrect adjectives :P)

I still cannot for the life of me understand WHY the Mass Effect team, building up this story about an epic adventure and saving the galaxy SUDDENLY decided to walk straight off a cliff and make practically all the endings some form of godawfully depressing.

I'm slowly losing any motivation to get the game out of fear. This is ridiculous. ME2 didn't leave me feeling like this, and that game had people trying to spoil it left and right.

He only broke the NDA when another forum spoiled all the endings. From another source that had provided reasonably reliable info in the past. [Caused by the fact that he wouldn't answer them on this forum.]

Disclaimer about massive troll effort, ect.

But this confuses me.  Why break NDA at all?  Just because some other place did?

You know, I am sorry for my past reaction. Being a realist you would think I could see the mob mentality in all this. I have not read these so called spoilers, and I don't plan on it. I just can't stay away from this thread. (darn you guys and your turian charms!)

The way I see it is that it's the stupid epilogue that's the problem, so I'm just going to ignore it and headcanon a better potential future.

Probably because of all the excitement. You can check the spoiler thread [I don't recommend it if you are not aware], but the page was flying. People wanted to know. When they couldn't find out from him, it spilled onto SA. He was around at 4am still trying to answer questions.

Initially, it was just gameplay things. But I suspect, like in anything, you get carried away.

Or you know. Elaborate troll. I certainly would love to be proven wrong.

Edit: And I am sorry to say, we now have ending screenshots.

My conspiracy theory: Bioware intentionally leaked a fake bad ending script so we will love the true ending even more. :P

And thank you Shygravel for being the sane voice on this thread.

Is it that the endings are depressing and sad or that they are just badly written? I feel like it might be the first because the anticipation has been built up so high and for such a loved game, there really can be no right ending....

But just give me a hint, no spoilers please :<

I would love it if this were the case! I realise that even I have been going a little stir crazy over this, but I am slowly regaining my sanity. I think I just need to play some MP.

This thread.. heavy risk... but the prize! :D

I really really wish right now Bioware is trolling the people who got the space copies.

I mean c'mon, they are asking people to leak stuff right there.

If you don't want spoilers, its probably best to not know. :[ Honestly, abandon BSN. Doom already spread to here.

I have this weird feeling that if the possible endings are really bad, then there will be a paid DLC good ending and the BSN will explode into a mushroom cloud of rage. XD

But here's hoping its a troll or there is a good ending and that guy didn't get it yet. (haven't been spoiled at all btw)

It's all three; depressing, sad, and depressingly badly written.

Honestly, I think we're being bombarded with a lot of info at once, and it's incredibly confusing/upsetting for those of us who are not/only partially spoiled. Especially since these same people may not be 100% aware of how the process in which spoilers are being handed out goes, which makes the "can we/can't we trust them" even more frustrating.

As one of the people in this group, I will acquiesce myself to whatever comes. Even if the spoilers are true - there's a huge difference between reading spoilers and living the whole experience for ourselves. Maybe by the time I get there...what I've seen will have changed my perspective.

And if not, I can always cry into my pillow.

The endings are both ridiculously depressing and  badly written. Yes, even the "best" ending.
