ONE WEEK GUYS ONE WEEK WE CAN DO IT

My ideal ending would be Garrus and Shepard get hitched and adopt a kid or two and go fight injustice together when they get the chance. Pretty much like that Hundred Year Distance fan fic. XD

I love you guys :crying: IF THIS SHIP MUST SINK, LET US GO DOWN TOGETHER!

You know, I've always wondered - are there any Sheps out there who'd want to retire? It seems everyone I know wants to keep going, but I can't help but wonder if ME3 will twist our perspectives. Apparently this is going to be a long, hard war...with quite a few emotional bombs laced within. I can see my Shepard becoming very tired and worn...and Garrus does strike me as the type who would want to settle down, at least for a few years.

...ah, maybe they'd just take a small break before going back to crime-fighting :P

I want them to retire and have kids and, as Garrus says in the spoilery leaks! <3

These endings are making me sad.  I actually cried this morning thinking about it...hopefully, there are other options available!  Too much emotional investment Bioware!

I was eating dinner as I logged on and saw the ending leak meltdown, thankfully I haven't seen anything, but I can tell you my stomach was doing flips.

I do hope that my Shep goes off with Garrus somewhere for  relaxing rest of their lives scenario. I always imagined that they would either: Retire someplace pleasant and have some unorthodox business or continue busting baddies somewhere.

Mainly I'm just scared that if they don't get a happy ending together, they atleast during this game, make it clear just how important they are to each other. Raphael in his livestream was saying just "how deep his love for Shepard has become." and while I thought that was incredibly sweet, I still think Kaidan is a dry biscuit. I know already Garrus cares a lot about Shep but I really want them to show just how much it's evolved.

Whoa Whoa....I was gone for three hours and ALL of this happened. Wow.

My opinion (and yes, I know the endgame results) is that none of this should be discussed in this thread. We should try to keep it light and happy at least until the game has been released. I freaked out but I am seriously trying to bring all of those emotions back under control. I won't allow myself to feel this way until I know for sure that this is indeed the truth. Until then, I believe there is a (if not a few) different happy results.

And personally I don't understand why other people are coming here telling people to abandon ship. If you have already done it or you're still encouraging people to do it all day, why are you still around? Not to be rude, but really?

To me, this thread and many others can be spoiler-free. Especially relating to this since none of it has been confirmed.

So I think we gotta talk about Garrus and Turians because thats what we LOVE! :D<3<3:wizard: It makes us happy! And right now we need happy and hope! :D

Lets keep it together, we can do it. No need to freak out....at least not yet. :P

Edit: Garrus Overload!

I've got a Garrus question for you guys! which do you think he works better with (both as a squadmate and as an LI)? a renegade or a paragon?

i personally think he does better with renegades for both. Especially in the second one

I think he's more interesting with a paragon but I'm kinda biased. xD

Just got back.. & was trying to catch up & saw @AlphaDormante post & couldn't help myself from thinking of that one scene..

And in answer to someones question of whats your preferred ending?  Oh Man! where to begin?!  Let's see if I can keep my answer short..:pinched:

I get to air quote/save the Turian counselor, defeat the reapers, give Quarian's & Krogan a seat on the council, Tali takes that Council position.. Krogan's get cured, Quarian's get there planet back!  With or without piece I don't really care how.. <_<
Garrus & Shep get married & adopt a human & Turian orphan & become a Symbol of galactic piece that we can All live Peacefully! :wizard:<3
Was that a little too much..?:innocent::blush:'

Garrus and Thane are both rather nuetral and can work with either, in my opinion. It's not like Tali and Samara (or Zaheed and Morinth).

I agree Garrus and Thane are more on the neutral side but i consider Garrus Chaotic Neutral and Than Lawful Neutral since Garrus is willing to break the rules to get a job done or to do what feels right where as Thane has a much stronger moral code (but doesn't necessarily follow mainstream rules)

the reason i think Garrus does better with a Renegade is because in ME1, if you choose Paragon conversation options you're sort of talking down to him but Renegade options are agreeing with him and in ME2 you can't get his loyalty if you go with the Paragon option whereas most of your other team mates you get their loyalty either way.

I always figured Garrus was Neutral Good -> Chaotic Good

Edit: Also sure you can get Garrus's loyalty with Paragon decisions. I certainly did!

I went pretty neutral with Garrus in 1 on my canon playthrough, which was an interesting dynamic.

I consider Garrus too ready to kill to be good, he certainly leans more towards that alignment than bad but i still consider him neutral, just my opinion

huh, strange, i could have sworn i read that if you don't let Garrus kill Sidonis you don't get his loyalty... my mistake, just looked it up

Well, I guess since everyone else has picked up on this, might as well jump into the discussion. I'm not going to say anything explicitly, but if you're good at the whole inference thing and don't want to read any hints at all, skip this post.

For reference, I haven't read the spoiler topics. I was exposed when I tried to log in and my eye wandered to the "recent discussions" page right on the center of the screen. I saw something about how [redacted] ends up [redacted] and got pissed since I've been spoiler free going on two years now. I sent a tweet about this to Bio so hopefully they'll block spoiler board topics from going up.

The one thing I've learned from my years on the Bio boards, more than any other, is that you can't always believe what you hear. Back in '09 when I was a wee college freshman, I basically went spoiler crazy for ME2. I read anything, everything, simply because I had nothing better to do with my time. Some of the things I uncovered panned out (Collector/Prothean deal) others didn't (smexy time with Samara).

The thing is, at the time, with the information presented on the forums (and found through *ehem* other means) both seemed equally credible. Although recent events show Bioware trying to cater to the CoD/Halo crowd (action mode, multiplayer, Michael Bay action scenes) I like to think they still care about their fans. They listen, they thrown in references to us crazy fandudes/dudets, they don't put out "Garrus armor" DLC a la Bethes.... oh wait....

Anyway, you get the point. I went into ME2 thinking you would HAVE to sacrifice at least one squad member during the suicide mission. I thought it would force you into a Virmire situation where you had to chose one over another, or your love interest versus many. Turns out you really can save everybody. Shows you what my sources know.

Bottom line, if you know what these spoilers suggest, remember this. While this was always meant to be a trilogy, to do that is to destroy everything that made the series what it is. I refuse to think that not putting the game's outcome into your hands, instead guiding you along a path of any two-bit action B-movie, would ever pass the writers, the team, the voice actors, the QA team, anyone. Choice, consequence, that's what makes Mass Effect more than just another RPG with a gun and spaceships.  Not this, not this.

But hell, this is the studio that gave the final go ahead on Dragon Age 2, so I could be wrong.

you pretty much said what i think lol including the part about DA2. really... ugh. but anyway! I don't see BioWare putting all this time and effort into these games just to give us a bunch of depressing/frustrating endings. Good endings might be harder to obtain but i think they're there

Me and a friend were just talking about this actually. We agreed that if those endings stick and there isn't a "silver lining" ending no matter what you do, that Bioware will have shot themselves in the foot and DA 3 is done for.  DA 2 was a tank, for reasons we don't need to talk about, and then have ME 3 have the same feeling for it's ending?  No one would bother with DA 3.

I am new to the fandom, but I am worried because honestly, after playing both one and two I never felt more like a hero before save for a few games like the NWN series.  The suicide mission in ME 2 had my heart pounding and when it was done and everyone was still alive, I felt like a badass. It was this great epic ending and it was only the middle of the whole story!

I don't want the conclusion to be lack luster, or worse, give me the feeling that all my hard work all this build up and it doesn't even matter.  That would crush me.

Like it was said before, i think the good ending is there, you just have to earn it with the dedication of playing all 3 games. Plus i doubt Bioware would end the game like this so called "bad ending"
