Yeah, the way I see it, even most of the DAO chars got a decently happy ending. Yeah, I didn't like doing the "dark ritual," but I still got to keep Alistair. I'll get my happy ending dammit, even if I have to treat it like Jurassic Park III, and treat it like it doesn't exist (JPIII wasn't based on a third book for the JP series, there were only 2 books. I don't have to acknowledge it). But, like JP, I am deeply in love with the story and it hurt me badly to have to disown that third movie. Even if I act like it's not there, it still is. It's like this thing I don't wanna talk about, it's like franchise cancer.

Sorry for the poor English, but most of what I am typing is stream of consciousness and I am forgetting to self-edit.

Hey sorry guys, I didn't read all those pages of posts before hand. I DID NOT say that they starved, I only suggested a possibility if something happens. I'm editing my post right now to take out the spoiler.

It's ok John we all make mistakes. It takes a good person to admit a wrong, and an even better one who rights that wrong. :-D We all share in your frustration and sadness if the worst should come to pass. The anticipation is killing us too. These trolls/leakers are tearing us apart, and getting us all on edge. I kinda wish that they hadn't done the Space Edition, that could have saved us all loads of trouble.

I dunno, I think it would probably have gotten out somehow, anyway. I remember before DA2 was released that most the end-game spoilers got leaked and the BSN sure threw a sh*t fit about it. I didn't read them, but I sure remember avoiding certain forums for awhile. If I remember correctly (which I'm probably not), this is a little more of a charllie foxtrot than that, but I'm sure someone would have popped up to doom-and-gloom around now, regardless.

And yeah, shoot me, I liked Dragon Age 2.

That's why I read the endings in the first place. A sucker-punch like that would have been hard to take without some warning.

However, I'm still hopeful. ^_^

Exactly. I know the spoilers but that doesn't mean I want to continue to feel like sh!t. It doesn't feel good and it is a waste of time. I am prepared but I am still hoping for the best. I am not going to complain and get sad and angry until I've beaten the game and all my fears come true....

And honesty if people want to be happy and try to stay positive what is the harm in that Dave of Canada? So please...don't try to freak people out. They (including myself) already are. And if people come here wanting to discuss turians and Garrus and don't know or don't want to know about the spoilers, they certainly DON'T need to read comments like that.

This thread is about Turians and some of us are trying to keep it that way so it doesn't turn into a huge, depressing, spoiler-filled thread like some of the others.

I saw some people talking about the "endings" earlier, and I hoped they wouldn't reach this thread. As far as I know, we have no reason to believe that they're the only option.

I don't see the reason why BioWare would make bad endings for everyone - it's a terrible idea for business. People want to succeed in games. They don't want to play for 100 hours only to lose no matter what. Until the game is out for real, and I've read the guide, I refuse to believe that there are no good endings (and that such a talented team would be stupid enough to do something like that). I'm just going to ignore all this hysteria. The original leaks had many endings with variations to each. I don't think "you have no chance of a happy ending" was ever in the plan.

No matter what happens, I said before that if Shepard must die then I'll just stop playing before the end. It's that simple. Reject their reality and substitute your own. Until I have actual proof, and not just the rantings of some people who might be trolls, or very confused, I'm going to deal with this situation like any other - prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

It's only six more days, guys. Hang in there. Try not to jump to conclusions. The only thing that's changed? I'll be reading the last pages of the strategy guide first. That'll settle this madness once and for all.

YvetteAngel wrote...

There is a glimmer of hope guys!  I am seeing that BW is basically saying that your past decisions and every single little thing you do will ultimately decide your ending this time in a HUGE HUGE way.  It can be "brutal or minimal".  Every single side quest you did or will do, every little interaction means EVERYTHING.

If you're still around, can I get a link to this post, please? I haven't been able to keep up with BioWare's posts.

And now, onto totally random, slightly off-topic, happier things...

Same here. I liked it a lot more than DAO, actually.

Saren statue. Enough said. Carry on, Garrus thread. I hope my little "attempt at encouragement" speech helped. And if not... well, what did you expect, a Shepard-style military pep talk? :P

There's a guide for that. :)

Cool, thanks for digging that up. I’m definitely bookmarking it :) To be honest so long the kidnapped crew, Mordin, Grunt, Samara, Jack and of course Mr Turian don’t get killed the rest are negotiable. Down side is that I might lose out on content for the next game if they were to make a cameo on ME3, so I’ll need at least 1 play through where they’re all still with a pulse.

No problem. :) I was around on BSN when this guide was made, and I've used it many times myself, so I knew right where to find it.

NO, DON'T DO IT! LOOK AWAY! LOOK AWAY NOW! JUST STAY ON THIS PAGE!

...Okay, that was a little overdramatic. But there was a lot of negativity over stuff that probably isn't even true, so seriously, don't read it.

Is this the one we saw a preview of, or am I confusing it with something else? Either way, great news! The new Mass Effect art book was my "good thing before ME3" - pages and pages of turians, Saren, Garrus, and more great stuff.

@PalAvian: Well, that's good. I guess you could say I'm a realist. I take a bit of optimism and pessimism, then throw it all together with a healthy dose of, "Why should I believe you?" xD

Ha-ha! Good attitude ;)...or something among the lines of; ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’

No idea what the supposedly horrid spoilers are (can’t say I care). I’m on 375 and so far and I’m finding it amusing ^_^

Yes, "I'll believe it when I see it" is a good description. But "Why should I believe you?" is more what I would say to the people posting this information. I know hysteria was all over the place before ME2's release (I was reading the forums, but not yet a member), and still, I don't remember anything this crazy floating around. It's too bad that they're mostly succeeding in taking the happiness out of this place.

Edit: Top of the page! I know just what this thread needs.
