I really didn't have a problem with Jacob in ME2, but then again, I never spoke to him. I guess this is what I get for trying to make friends with my male companions. I'll tell him to eff off as soon as I can.
I've never had a problem with him, but I always do the professional act - picking mostly "in the middle" dialogues rather than Paragon. I actually do like him quite a bit, but that might just be because he's never ninjamanced me.
In other news - I just got back from a few MP sessions, and you guys wouldn't believe what happened. We won a Silver match, so I bumbled over to the store to buy a Veteran Pack. And got a Claymore (gold item). WHOA. ...too bad I roll pistol only for 200% power recharge. Ah, well.
I still had enough money for another Veteran pack, so I bough another one. And unlocked a Turian Sentinel! FINALLY! ...of course I'm going to have to learn how to use him, but yeesh, two ultra-rare items in a row?
So for the moment, I stuck with my Vanguard and rolled through another match, winning once again. Went to buy a Veteran Pack...and got an Asari Adept. WHAT.
I've gotten zilch for weeks, and all of a sudden I get all this great stuff a week before launch

Hooray! now if only all of you were on PS3 or i had an xbox! Turian Sentinel was the first 'alien' class I had gotten followed by Krogan soldier. Sentinels are so easy to use and I love how singularity really has a kick when you use it.
Since I've been back and forth between MP and ME2, the change in combat isn't terrible but it's certainly noticeable, you really can't charge in ME2 like you can in ME3 which I thought was really nice. It certainly makes you feel like a bad ass.
Also, I've gotten almost every better class weapon except for sniper rifles :I what gives....

need turians. not much longer for ME3 for me... ME2 not that long ago just got Garrus in my newest playthrough I'm working on:

----
as for ME3, whatever the possible endings may be I'll reserve judgement 'til I've the game myself and played it through.

Finally I can post! I actually played ME2 before ME1, just because I found out I could have a LI with Garrus in the second one. I'm playing ME1 now so I can import my Shepard to my second playthrough of ME2. It seems like they're trying to push a Kaiden romance on me though. I was talking to Liara and she mentioned something going on between me and Kaiden. I literally went out of my way to talk to him ONCE, so I don't see how that could be possible. I'm going to stay faithful to future Garrus, I want to see how it plays out in ME3.
Yup, same as you played ME2 before ME1 and on Kaidan I get that same feeling. Solution? I don't even talk to the guy, same with Liara. Ironically enough I left Williams on Vermine (just yesterday), she made one negative comment too many about turians and that was her down fall.

Don't keep Garrus waiting.
Hey ^ this reminds me... put your hand up if you've been shot by Garrus in the Archangel mission. [Before you get out in the bridge and before you can draw weapons].

No kidding, Williams is a super alien racist and I'm not into that. When I talked to her and she was mentioning how we shouldn't let the aliens have access to the ship, I shut her down, all renegade options. I'll just avoid any more chatter with Liara and Kaiden, I don't want to ruin ME3 with crap romance drama.
Oh! I hear you
But I’m sure you can still talk to them, just be careful of what dialogues you choose. Avoid over friendly and you should be alright. I just don’t talk to them because I have zero interests on whatever they have to say to me...

Also, those people saying there are no good endings? Well, that's what happens when you rush to finish a game in 23 hours that would take completionists 100+ hours. BioWare's already said that sidequests are needed for the best endings. They ruined their own playthroughs. Don't let them ruin your excitement too. I'm sure I'll still be posting my "road to happiness with Garrus" guide here on day one. I'm almost postitive that there will be a road to happiness. And I'm glad that the Garrus thread is being so calm about this compared to other places on BSN. Way to keep it together, guys!
I know this is random, but another thing I noticed while reading over all the posts I've missed... a lot of you guys would really have trouble finding a standard edition of ME3 on day one if you haven't pre-ordered? I bought both ME2 and DA2 on their release dates, the strategy guides as well, and there were plenty on the shelves. I never pre-order or wait in lines. xD
@Arcana: Great picture of the new armors. I won't have the DLC, but it's amazing to see how much I approve of Garrus in gold armor. I normally keep him in a blue/black/silver combo, and hate to put a character in any armor that doesn't "match" them in my eyes. The gold actually works great for Garrus.

Actually I don't think Ash is racist. From what I remember talking to her, at on of the early talks with her she says that she doesn't trust Garrus and Wrex. Then when asked about, Ash explains that bear and dog story that I don't see as a good example but nontheless her view is that the alien races will look out for their race before the others (which is kind of true). But that's mostly it, she just doesn't trust aliens because she thinks they don't trust us and is uncomfortable around them. And besides she hates Terra Firma (if you compare her to them in one of her conversations she calls them a bunch of jackals who have strayed from the founders' original ideals ) and taking her to that Saracino guy calls their group a bunch of racists (I don't think she will be hypocritical enough to call them that without looking at herself, which means she isn't racist). But I think through the end of the game, she trusts the aliens on the ship. This is mostly seen when on Virmire when asked to help the salarians she says "I am used to working with you, all of you" and she doesn't really mention that she will be leading Salarians (which means she sees them as equal soldiers). So overall, even if she was a little racist at the beginning she grows through the game and starts to trust aliens.
Damn, some wall-o-text. Guess I like Ash enough to explain this for her.
And the MP is killing me, I have opened around 50 veteran packs and I have gotten every other race except for Turian

Her point of view isn't entirely wrong, but it is cynical and the example, which you point out as rather bad, sounds to me slightly predujiced from either a lack of knowledge, experience or both. I think the example was meant to be a bad one (from the point of the writers) showing her deficiencies in that area.
Obviously I don't know aliens (
Also: yeah. No turian here either. Quarians, salarians, a full krogan unlock (which is actually rather fun), but no turians.

I don't think the new message from BioWare has anything to do with these "spoilers" going around, unless worse stuff has been caused by them that I haven't seen yet. It seems to be an extension of something that happened a while ago (if you want more details, check the DA2 announcements forum), and I'm glad they're taking measures against this sort of thing. No worries guys, I don't think it was only caused by possible ME3 fallout on the forums.

This. I have to believe this or it just seems hopeless to me. I broke my own rule about going dark
Anyways, here is something positive that I found a few days back a wonderful concept art of a female turian. I leave you all with this.

After 28 playthroughs of ME2 (from ME1 imports), I have finally RPGed a femshep that fell for Garrus. I love Garrus, and he always seems to suffer from being friendzoned by my femsheps. I finally realised that for me, biotic Femshep does not work with Garrus, but ends up either faithful to Liara/Kaidan or falls for Thane. My Earthborn, War hero - Engineer fell hard for Garrus.....sheesh, if only I'd known it was that simple. Looks like my soldier Spacer/ Sole survivor is also heading that way.
I have to love the demo, it has made me revisit the other classes in ME2, not to mention the Firewalker missions. I disliked the Mako....the Hammerhead just drives me nuts.
