Fair enough but it's also possible to ignore stupid remarks like that and move on.

I write fanfiction, I don't read any of it. And while I am glad you all enjoy reading and writing it, I do not complain when it gets discussesd so long as it is related to the thread topic. I only get upset when I see my fellow forumites being picked on, so to speak, because we're a better community than that. Anyway conversation has moved on now but just felt like things were getting slightly off-topicy and had to say something.

Maybe turians are like.. seahorses or marsupials or something when it comes to the baby-making.

On the subject of the fanfiction that has been stirring this thread, I haven't gotten more than a few chapters in, so I can't judge it either way. I will say, however, that the mood in this thread has gotten rather antagonistic and I feel almost unwelcome.

People, it's okay for others not to like the same stuff you do, really. There's no use trying to change their minds when they've already pointed out what they don't like about it. And for those who do dislike the fic, trust me, I know what you're feeling--but it's entirely possible to release your frustration without cussing at and being downright rude to the ones who do like it but are being polite about it.

Moving on, if Garrus had a brood pouch I'd ask him to empty it out. Maybe he's keeping all of his extra calibrations in there

I just get back and I miss all the back and forth about the fanfic in question? Awww... I always miss the good stuff...

Well, I'll summarize since I made a post saying I liked it. I like most of the characters and I think the direction the story is going in is interesting. There are several moments where I do role my eyes, most of which have been mentioned but they aren't a deal breaker for me. It's a lot of material and it's not for everyone, but I find it enjoyable enough to read it. I just don't think on the parts I find kinda' silly too much.

Also, I guess I'm weird but I have no trouble with the hybrid babies. I though for a non-science guy (artist here) there was at least some attempt at explanation which was good enough for me. Not big into hard sci-fi.

To each their own however; there are things I hate that others love and visa versa. I guess when you really like something and another person doesn't peeps just want to defend what they like, or argue why something is terrible. Can get emotional. But no one should ever feel like they can't express their opinion, that's just not coool.

In the end though, we can still all come together in this forum to express our love for our awesome Turian Batman, Garrus.

Speaking of Turian Batman...

As to fanfic - some I love,  some I hate, as to the one in question - I am not getting involved

But as to Papa Vakarian - I always asumed that he was dead, just from the way that Garrus talks about him and various other bits like the LotSB dossiers! But if he isnt would be awesome to meet him!

Hmmm... I've always assumed he way alive. Never given any indication he's really dead, not that I can see anyway. If you're romancing Garrus, it would be very interesting to meet Papa Vakarian and the rest of the family.

I really hope we don't get a reset in ME3 like we did in ME2 with our romances, it would be nice to play out the romance through the game, maybe get some reaction from squaddies and such. Although with the whole universe coming to an end, I guess they have other things on the mind...

Why do so many people think that Garrus' dad is dead? One of the first conversations Shep has with Garrus in ME1 is about how his dad is "taking his resignation [from C-Sec] pretty hard." I guess he could have died in the two years between ME1 and ME2, but I think he's alive until proven otherwise.

I think its the fact that he at one point says something like 'he wouldn't have liked you' to shep (im the past tense) and that in the dossiers there is mention of mother and sister but nothing about father. it says solana is struggling to find the money for mothers treatment but I'd father was still around I would have thought he would be helping too. unless they where seperated or he was somewhere out of contact

To be honest its been a long time since I played me1 qithout skipping the dialoge so I could be well off, just saying it was what I thought
