How often can you btw even talk with Garrus aboard Normandy? Is it like in ME2 where you can talk to after about two main missions?

You can talk to him or listen in on him having a conversation with someone after nearly every mission. He's not always in the main battery.

Thank you, that's good to know.:)

Really loving the romance interractions. From now on, I'll only romance Garrus on my every playthrough.<3

Spoilery feels ahead!

Well here we are; the release day of the game here in the UK. I have to say that I've reached the point where I'm so grateful that I was spoiled for the endings (almost a week ago now) because the idea of finding them out after playing through the whole game... it would have been utterly traumatising. Finding out was pretty damn difficult - I did indeed have quite a few creys over it all. Then I thought that since I was spoiled for the ending, I would pamper myself with the new Garrus/Femshep romance scenes because I've always found that the best cure for sadness is cotton wooling yourself with stuff that makes you grin like an idiot. I don't regret spoiling myself for those scenes either; it made things fluffy round the edges, and the more I watch them, the happier I get, so I can only imagine by the time I get to them in game I'll be bouncing off the walls squealing about my ship and that they are the shippiest ship of all the ships that ever shipped!

I think the hardest part of the endings though was the fact that Femshep and Garrus genuinely believed that they'd face the end together, and they'd either die fighting side-by-side, or they'd pull through and go off and have a life with children and a house and lots and lots of love. But there is always headcannon, and with a fail of an ending that Bioware gave us, it really isn't difficult to believe that they found each other again after the victory, the galaxy a little bit broken but belonging to the people that fought for it, and my god, would there be one epic reunion when they saw each other again. I kind of like to imagine Femshep, battered and bruised after getting back to Earth, trying to keep her cool as she searches around before spotting him, and he's there and he's alive and real and she just runs across the room and flings herself into a giant tackle hug with her turian because they made it back. And who cares if they're now making out in full view of everyone, they don't care about the taboo on human/turian relationships godamnit; they're Shepard and Vakarian and this is now their favourite place on the planet. Then
they'd head to the Normandy after hearing it crash landed on Earth, and stumble into Shep's quarters (which they quickly decided would become THEIR quarters, by the way) before stripping each other's armor off, collapsing in a tangled heap on the bed and just laying there contentedly in the quiet together because they're too exhausted for anything else right now, thank you very much, there'll be so much time for that and more later.

I'm thankful that the romance scenes we got between them went above and beyond anything I thought we would get. The way they talk to each other is just beautiful, and there is absolutely no fear between them of letting each other know how they feel. No dancing around each other, no games, just "I love you", "I need you" and "I want to have children with you". They were completely honest with each other from the first day they met and that never changed. And the best part for me? The talk about meeting up in heaven. It's canon; whenever their time is, Shep and Garrus are booking out their spot in heaven and staying there for the long haul. They didn't just want a life together, they promised eternity to each other and that makes my tummy do happy flips of joy, because that's the one thing Bioware let us keep with the endings.

They will be together for as long as heaven exists, and that's all I could ever want for them.

Oh my god. My heart. My heart at all of this. :crying:

I really need to start thinking up what my headcanon is going to be. At this point I'm just trying to figure out what would result in the absolute minimum amount of Turians dead and Normandy crew not screwed over.

Also, @
Karrie788, I'm sorry the endings hit you so hard... Hell, I havn't even played them yet; I watched them after I watched the Garrus romance scenes because I had read the spoilers and needed to see if it was really that bad. Turned me into an emotional wreck for the past couple days, crying and feeling sick. Just hang in there, it'll be ok. Headcanon; headcanon all the way. *hugs*

Yeah, I can already tell I'll be forced to play multiplayer. So many bloody side quests just scanning planets for artifacts. Not sure I like having to flee a system everytime I scan just so the Reapers don't get me. Is it true side quests are timed? If so I'm kinda screwed in that regard... At least Garrus is with me. Also Turians FTW.

I found it easier to let the Reapers over take you and see where the area that needs to be scanned.  It saves when you enter that system, so no worries there.

I don't have a romance with Garrus, but he is one of my canon femShep's best friends.  She trusts him more than Kaidan.

Sort of spoilery

Honestly I have to say this is the first game ever that's affected me so much both emotionally and physically. It may sound sad, but the endings actually made me feel physically ill. I’m seriously feeling depressed and even my head canon where Garrus and femshep are reunited and the reapers destroyed etc, etc isn’t making me feel any better. I’m not the kind of person who tears up easily at things but I honestly haven’t been able to stop crying for the past day and it’s purely because Garrus’ romance almost makes you feel hopeful about there being some kind of future for him and femshep, and then the ending happens and you are just left feeling completely empty and hopeless. Really hoping Bioware pulls a Bethesda and gives us a better ending.

Yeah, the endings are bad enough that I don't think another playthrough of ANY Mass Effect is worth it anymore.

Thank you very much, SavageLycan. *hugs*

Spoilers, yet again.

All right, after a good nigt sleep I'm feeling a little better. Headcanon is working its way through my brain. And there are turian babies there. I'm certain they're cute as hell. I can totally see my Shep trying to picture her future with Garrus while shooting the Crucible repeatedly (instead of having a Liara flashback. Come on. I like Liara but really?!).

@bunnyteefs, that was incredible, and I feel the same way.

I am completely denying the whole "Normandy getting stranded" thing. It. Makes. No. Sense. There's no reason why Joker should be trying to flee through a relay when, y'know, they're fighting reapers on Earth.

Didn't happen. Period.

I refuse to let those awful endings taint my impression of the series. It's been one hell of a ride, we laughed and cried a lot, and ME3 is arguably the best of the three games. Such epic, powerful moments. The mission on Rannoch was particularly incredible.

The only thing I care about now is saving FemShep. I got really attached to her during the three games, however b**chy she might get at times (paragade FTW). So yeah, I'll make another playthrough to save her sorry ass. Not that I'm ever planning on replaying the last mission.

EDIT: oh, and on a completely different note, hearing Shep telling Garrus and Tali "You've always been there, you've always believed in me" was soooo cliché but sooo great.:D

I'm trying not to spoil my ending with Garrus so I've been carefully scanning posts for spoilers :) but I can't contain myself anymore.

*small spoiler*

Apparently Garrus is the hot ticket. I almost punched my screen when I walked in on Garrus and Tali fooling around. It was on my romanced Kaidan game but I still wanted to throw her off the ship. I guess everyone finds him just as sexy as we do :)

 Ending Spoilers...

I finished the game last night after saying my goodbyes to Garrus.  Those lines were so heartbreaking, I felt helpless talking about our future together when I already knew that FemShep was going to die no matter what choice I made, and I won't lie, I started crying when she tells him that even if she doesn't make it she'll be watching down from heaven so he won't ever be alone.

I was crying as I made my choice, apologizing for my betrayal to Legion and Edi, but I had made a promise to destroy the Reapers, and it was a promise I was going to keep.  But boy was I in for a surprise after watching the Normandy get stranded...  My Shepard survived, and I know that as long as Shepard is alive she will do what she does best...  Go against the odds and accomplish the impossible.  She will help rebuild the relays, and she will find Garrus, because as long as she is alive there is not a force in the universe that can stop her.

After all, she has to find out what a turian human baby looks like.

Well as far as people go I'm glad it was Tali. In the alternate universe where Garrus isn't my space husbando, all I can say is "get it, gurl."

Yeah I know, but I was taking that line from the goodbye scene.  It's a pretty motivating incentive.

Well I'm a big Myetel fan (and with endings like this, who wouldn't be), so my mental image of Turian Human half breeds is highly based off her Fanfiction. I think they would either look more like one race than the other.

I haven't beaten ME3 yet, but I've heard it does not end well.
In ME2, I didn't go through the whole game that many times. This is going to sound wimpy, but even the ending there (even if I saved everyone) would leave me speechless for the rest of the day. It's like watching a really, really, really good movie, or a TV series you're really invested in and it finally ends.

EVEN MORE SPOILERS

This. All of this. Now I'm really torn about what ending I'll choose when I finally get to that point. I got some time to think about it, but man, it'll be a hard choice. I know there's one that I don't think I'll choose either way, but between the other two... it's tough. Doesn't help that you're choosing between the lesser of two incredibly depressing evils. I know either way, when I get to the ending I'll be sobbing again, but at least I've gotten over the worst of the feels.

Also, I really think I need to do some sort of lighthearted Garrus project now. Some sort of cartoony, carefree thing where everything is funny and lighthearted and packed to the brim with alien sex jokes. Was thinking about doing a comic with Mass Effect characters in Garry's Mod or something.

On a lighter note, during the romance scene... first thing I thought was "OMG is he STILL wearing the visor?!"

I have seen the Garrus Romance in ME3 and I gotta say he may have the best damn romance for female Shepards. Garrus ftw!

Out of curiosity, what was everyone else's take on the line after the credits when the boy asks for another story about Shepard and the old man says something like "All right, one more." Obviously he'd just finished telling Shepard's story over the course of the three games so what other story would there be left to tell? Or perhaps I heard it wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what was said.

Seems like a teaser to me.

Here's my take on what it means:

BUY DLC!

I might come up with a better answer when I'm less bitter. ;)

Now that would be a terribly weasily way of going about it...unless it's dlc that invovles an alternate ending that isn't depressing. Hope springs eternal...

Considering how many people are demanding a better ending I can see an ending dlc happening. EA wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take more of our money.
