Considering how many people are demanding a better ending I can see an ending dlc happening. EA wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take more of our money.

Man... Never thought I'd see the day I'd actually be begging EA to do this

Out of curiosity, what was everyone else's take on the line after the credits when the boy asks for another story about Shepard and the old man says something like "All right, one more." Obviously he'd just finished telling Shepard's story over the course of the three games so what other story would there be left to tell? Or perhaps I heard it wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what was said.

Seems like a teaser to me.

I think to most people, it sounds like:

Kid: Tell me more about THE Sheperd
Grampa: Did you get the DLC?
Kid: No...
Grampa: Then go to bed.

On a lighter note, Garrus fans seriously lucked out in ME3 considering the very shallow squadmate pool we had to choose from, and you can pick him up early on too. I'm feeling very fortunate in that respect after having seen what became of several other favorites that didn't make it back into the party...

Absolutely!  Not only that but the Garrus romance was very thorough and completely picked up the slack from the previous game.

Definitely. We got one of the best treatments romance-wise in ME3. I really feel for Thane's fans. They knew his fate, but apparently there is very little romance specific lines. That's very sad. And surprising, he was well liked among the fans!

Spoilers: Gotta say I absolutely *loved* when my FemShep killed Kai Leng yelling "That's for Thane you SOB"...

Okay welllll

SPOILERS

What's curious to me is that when the Old man and child are talking, there are two moons, just like on Eden (I call it Eden because Matt Rhode's latest picture)  Earth certainly does not have two moons...I mean you could say this could be any planet but I think it's something worth noting. He does talk like he's not aware of the other races out there but I think this could be a way of avoiding definitive people who survived on the planet (Or just being a tired old Grandpa and not wanting peak the kid's interest). Lastly when he said: "One more story" this could mean many things ie DLC, a start up to: "There's a rumor that Shepard did the impossible again" (like seeing his/her friends again)

I'm not terribly upset with the ending anymore honestly, it's just so vague that I feel like anything could have happened. It's just you can't answer "Mass Effect" for most things now because of the relays hah :P

Anyone take a romanced Garrus to Grissom Academy? "Bite me, Garrus. Or better yet, bite her. I bet she likes it."

Not to mention the poor Jacob fans, . What was done to them was just wrong.

I wasn't expecting there to be so few squadmates in general actually, not after the smorgasbord of options we got in ME2. That was probably my biggest let down in ME3 aside from the endings. I liked every squadmate from ME2 and virtually none of them that weren't a part of the original crew from ME1 come back as squadmates. It surprised me.

In the French version we got "Go f**k yourself, Garrus. Maybe Shepard can help with that."

I was told Garrus has some banter with his dad, I was very thorough in my game but I seemed to have missed this exchange. Does anyone have the script?

I see their point though. They did not want to waste time working on a romance that very few people liked so they could focus on characters the fanbase loved. Marketing wise, it makes sense and I don't really blame them for that.

Now to have him knocking up another woman even when you're in a romance with him was a little extreme.
"I couldn't have waited forever." Please... :pinched:

I honestly think Garrus has the best romance out of all the o/s relationships. I haven't done my playthrough with Kaidan yet. I hear it is pretty good but they (the writers) focus on the whole trust thing too much in ME3. Which is also one of the reasons I love Garrus so much. He trusts you. He believes in you. Which completely fits with the type of person my Shep.

As for the other o/s relationships, Jacob got the the worse of it. To me, it is character assassination. I've discussed it with a few friends that romanced him or at least really liked his character (I am neutral to him - very boring and serious in my opinion) and they thought it was kind of racist as it seems to reinforce a stereotype. I haven't seen the scenes regarding their romance status so I can't say whether I agree with this or not but I find it to be in poor taste. And it doesn't seem like something his character would do. What is the point of having Jacob as an LI in ME2 if it ends the way it does in ME3? As for Thane, I figured he was going to die since they've been warning the players about it since you met him in ME2. From my understanding, they only add a few "romantic" dialogue/sentences to the already few conversations and interactions.

I am just happy my favorites (Garrus<3, Liara and Kaidan) have the better romances and overall character interactions.

To the people who have finished the game, how would you have ended it so that shepard could be with garrus or whoever their LI was? In your head canon what is different with the endings or do you completely change them for something that makes more sense? I’m trying to put together a fanfic to take my mind off of the real ending and I’m curious to see what ideas others have had.

All right, let's see...

First, I'd get rid of the whole "Normandy getting stranded" completely. It makes zero sense that Joker tries to flee through the relay while everybody's fighting back on Earth and that all your squadmates are apparently on board when they were fighting on Earth.

Then, I'd change the appearance of the Catalyst, replace the kid by something creepy, a mechanical voice, much like the delightfully sadistic GLaDOS in Portal. Or worse, the Master in Fallout 1. Some twisted form of life obviously deranged, half synthetic half organic, who fails to see how *insane* his plan is. The reason why I'd change that is that first, I dislike the whole kid scenario in ME3, Shepard's been through a lot, she can take the death of a kid. And second, it makes the Reapers look like the "good guys". I have nothing against an ambiguous villain, but the reason why they were supposedly "good guys" was plain out ridiculous. Their creators were obviously either desperate or really short-sighted. The resolution of the conflict between the geth and the quarians proves that.

I'd go for the Destroy ending and having Shep have a flashback of his/her most trusted friends and, obviously, the LI.

I have to say I have no clue how Shepard would get back on Earth as he/she does in the """perfect""" ending. But let's assume he/she does. I see the Normandy crew desperatly looking for him/her everywhere for a few days and finally discovering he/she's in a medical center, disfigured by the explosion and left between life and death. Then they wait until he/she wakes up. I don't know how long. And then when he/she does wake up, happy but quiet reunion between her/him and her closest friends.

Maybe have Shepard say something along the all lines of: "How the hell did I survive that? Do you think I could survive a nuclear bomb?"

I dunno. Something like that.

Here's my take on what it means:

BUY DLC!

I might come up with a better answer when I'm less bitter. ;)

Now that would be a terribly weasily way of going about it...unless it's dlc that invovles an alternate ending that isn't depressing. Hope springs eternal...

Fallout 3 did that. The original game ended with you dying, but then there was DLC that changed it so you survived and left the game open-ended.

I would have had Harbinger there instead of the catalyst thing, they would have had a confrontation where Harbinger would have warned her that destroying the reapers will only end in chaos, Shepard would have detonated the Crucible, which as it turned out didn't destroy the reapers but merely disabled their synthetics, enabling the fleets to wipe them out. Shepard would collapse on top, Joker flies the Normandy up, and Garrus pops out to rescue her. She opens her eyes to see that she's in a medical post on Earth, not too far from the Citadel, and LI is over there watching over her. He mentions something about what happened down below the Citadel, and the battle, and how when he saw her, he was worried that they were too late. He tells her about how reconstruction plans are starting, they reminisce about old friends and fallen squadmates. He then asks her what she wants to do now that the reapers and cerberus are gone, and she says that the two of them have some hard earned R&R waiting in front of them. His arm goes around her shoulder, and they watch outside as people rebuild the Earth.

And sorry for the run-on sentences, haha.

Hmm, five hours in and am really enjoying the combat =D Makes me want to fire up the multiplayer after all. If anyone is interested, (PC players) my Origin is the same name as my BSN name =) I'd be low level, just a warning.

SPOILERISH!

Just got the important Turian dude off Palaven's moon, and the first scene when you meet Garrus is just brilliant. I knew that Turian arse anywhere and was grinning like a fool when he grasped my Shep's hand with such affection =3 /end fangirl mode.

Ha! I just realized, you know how Garrus commented on the fact he watched videos on human reunions? That means for 6 months he fantasized about his reunion with Shepard. So cute!
