I was wondering if that was a romanced line or not. That was honestly one of my favorite scenes in the game [that and the followup with Joker], just because it felt like the ship was really working together and Shepard wasn't the only one who could handle the gruntwork.

I liked it alot too. And it was a great moment to add a little Garrus romance dialogue. It just made  me feel good.

Just gone through Manae on my worse playthrough (where the only 2 ME2 squadmates to survive were Kasumi and Zaeed).

Interesting observations, first being the dialogue at the first point is pretty much the same it just cuts out Garrus stuff, Joker still calls in about ship behaving bonkers, but Shepard tells him that they'll deal with it when they finished on the moon with Liara not going back. Rest of it pretty much plays out with Liara taking over with some of Garrus's lines about the state of Palaven. Garrus actually only gets mentioned once in the whole thing :( but... it's an amusing line. Liara queries where Garrus would have been in all of this, to which Shep replies "Pissed! ...and kicking ass!"

This Shep is another FemShep and Hale once again delivers the line with awesome sauce

Awesome line and would like to hear it. I for one can't go through ME2 without Garrus surviving :P I've only managed to once go through it without romancing him for that matter >.> Damn adorable turian.

Then again trying to muster up the will to play anything after the ending is hard. Luckily I have a friend to play MP with.

Me too, I can't imagine any of my games without him. I can sacrifice anyone except Garrus. What's really ironic is that my first intro to ME was on a PS3 with ME2 and I knew nothing about the series. When I started reading up and discovered the LIs and I saw Garrus I was so disappointed (yeah I know, shoot me ;) I figured Jacob or Thane would have to be my LI in the game. Then when I actually played, I couldn't take my eyes off Garrus! Shocked the hell out of me, and stole my heart.

Anyway, I wanted to have a Kaidan LI game save and it was so difficult to keep my FemShep's hands off Garrus, I had to start another FemShep in parallel so I could get my Garrus fix. Is that insane or what?

I then got a PC and was able to experience the entire series, which has been wonderful.

I just had the date scene with Garrus and my, oh my .. I was grinning like a fool the whole damn time and giggling like a little girl - it was just so so sweet and awesomesauce .. the perfect mixture of romance (gah and that kiss .. damn ) and fun (I missed the shot on purpose and laughed my ass off at Garrus lines after that) .. I didn't play the other romances yet, but I don't think they could ever compare to this.

Also Garrus/James are like .. THE BEST in the game.  Wheter it's the batner between them while on missions or on the Normandy it's just absolutely fantastic and so much fun. The only thing that's just as funny is the Joker/Garrus scene where they are telling jokes .. I just laughed so much:D

Well, back in the game .. I'm looking forward to more Garrus scenes .. :wizard:

I absolutely agree. The Garrus date was just fantastic and I can not even imagine replaying the game with my Kaidan file after seeing Garrus' entire romance. It was just fantastic and natural. That's my head-canon now for FemShep.

Not to mention any party banter with Garrus is just lovely. How he interacts with everyone is just fantastic.

*some spoilers ahead*

Ok, finished the game. Played through first with a non-romanced Garrus.....the dialogue was amazing. That last talk before the final run on earth just about killed me.
Overall amazing game~but I did have some reservations. (and not just about the endings *rages quietly*)
One thing that bothered me was that so many NPC characters never came back (or got the kal-reegar treatment -__-)....I was so looking forward to seeing some of my favorite NPC turians again.....and they just...never showed up. :(
Lorik Qu'iin....my favorite NPC, never heard from him, same with Li, Chellick (who at least got a mention), Gavorn, where the frak was Sidonis?(what was the point of that decision if he never shows up again)
Was hoping Partinax and Quarn from the CDN stories would show up.....

Ok here's a Garrus question (I havent had time to do multiple playthroughs to figure out what is friendship and what is romance only dialogue).

At some point you talk to Garrus and he tells you to go get some rest. I dont remember after what priority mission it is but I know you get a bad dream after it. So he tells Shep something like '' I'll wake you up if something go wrong. Dont worry I know where you sleep.''
Is that regular dialogue or romance ?

It's after Tuchanka and just for a further 'Garrus replacement' update, Samantha Traynor takes his spot in this scene... and she spends a good portion of it staring at Shep's bum (with the camera focusing on it twice, well once but 2nd time it has the bum out of focus in the foreground with Samantha staring at it in focus in the background), which soon as the camera took to that shot it had me trying to remember if Garrus was doing anything of the sort?

Well... considering this is the story so far in this playthrough, yeah I think I can live with it...

Actually as an update, I chose to fake the cure... poor 'Not Mordin' (Padon Wiiks, whom Joker refers to as 'Not Mordin' ) never stood a chance as he got shot from behind by Earthborn Sole Survivor Dani Shepard...

Akuze she was last one standing, Omega 4-relay she had 3 others survive... her final trip back home... she will find her resting place.

Will most likely be back later with any other potential 'Garrus replacement' news. Think of it this way, I'm doing this, so you don't have to :wizard:

Maybe it has been mentioned before, but... Wasn't it touching that the first person Shepard mentions the dead child on Earth to is Garrus?

I found it... Perfect. Shepard has been haunted by it ever since, and after leaving Earth, when you think it's all forgotten, Shepard brings it up again... To Garrus.

Damn it. I wish I could romance him with my male Shepard. If playing through with MShepard is this touching, man, I better get some tissues ready for my FShepard playthrough. :crying:

It seems to me like this only takes place with MaleShep/unromanced FemShep players. It happens during the first convo with him back on the Normandy, where they switch up the "sleepness nights" dialogue a bit to include the dead child and Garrus offering to get drinks with Shep sometime. Romanced, it won't come up, Garrus will instead tell her that they're in it together.

At least, that's what I've pieced together from watching a MaleShep playthrough on YT and playing with my romanced FemShep. I could certainly be wrong on that and just missed it in my playthrough.

I just played Palaven and went to talk to him. At one point Shepard tells him about the kid he saw die on the shuttle, while he escaped Earth.

It's the very first conversation with him on the Normandy... I've only played this far XD

[Edit]: What he said. MaleShep with unromanced Garrus. Well, because of a technicality. They should be able to be together, gender be damned.

Also, who was surprised that Valern was the salarian councilor instead of the turian as people, myself included, initially thought? Feels like they did it just to prove all of us wrong.

Sparatus. You magnificent bastard, you.

Hey, when does Garrus banter with his father? Do we ever meet him and Garrus' sister?

You don't meet them. I don't remember exactly when you hear him talking to his family, I think it's after the Quarian/Geth storyline... definitely before Thessia, that I know.

I was!

I was confused for a moment when you talk to Udina, and he tells you about each embassador. I though he was talking about the turian, then he mentioned something about the dalatrass and I'm like "what...?" And I laughed.

The name has a Turian ring to it, though. But in hindsight it does sound Salarian as well.

I just finished my first play through. I have had Garrus in nearly every mission as a squad mate from ME1. By half way through this game it felt weird not having him on a group. So of course I romanced Garrus. I was scared of what Bioware was going to do with the character in ME3 but, damn they made him epic!

New question here. Is there multiple ways to manage a kaidan - to - garrus romance ? Is there an altercation if you try yo romance them both ( I told Kaidan pretty soon my Shep wasnt interested anymore )? Or does Garrus still say Shep needed time to figure things out if she never romanced Kaidan?

I actually panic slightly whenever it seems another NPC is hitting on Shepard. I'm afraid it will activate something. When Samantha got in the shower I was like >.>...
Thankfully I could play it off.
