It only takes about 3 hours of multiplayer to max out galactic readiness. Combined with enough support you're then guaranteed to be able to see Shep survive in the destroy ending. (supposedly you can do it w/o the mp, but I didn't want to risk it).

If anyone wants to try multiplayer I'm more than happy to play through some levels with them. I ain't a hard-core shooter, like some of the folk on there, and actually enjoy [can't believe I'm saying this] the multiplayer more than the single-player. I'll be sticking to bronze indefinately as I'm a noob, all the enemies move far too fast for my crappy shooting.

It's actually fairly late in the game. For me it showed up after the quarians, but i think it's actually available one plot quest sooner if you follow his note and go back to the cidatel.

You can max out war assets without the multiplayer, though I'd personally rather have Shep and Garrus both die in the end than live in a galaxy without the mass relays where they might not see each other again. Until a more sensical ending for ME3 comes out (either via fan theory, DLC, whatever), I'm offing them both and shunting them sideways LOST-style.

It's the Galactic Readiness you can't max out w/o mp. (If you're on xbox, there's achievements for being maxed out when starting the endgame in sp)
And I agree - if they have to die they should die together. It's what they expected. Spent some time at the bar in heaven

Finally finished the game with my own Shepard, and wanted to get out a few thoughts.
So, guys...this is it, isn't it? No more new Garrus content. He'll have to live on in our hearts and memories now.
I'm not trying to depress anyone, but...I'll miss him, you know? The Garrus/FemShep romance is truly one of the most treasured and beautiful relationships in fiction I've ever seen, and to think it's over...heh. Kind of overwhelming. Just need some time to sort through it all, I guess.
But no regrets. It's been one hell of a ride.
Honored to have made the journey with you, ladies and gentlemen. <3
I completely agree. <3
Some of you have mentioned that crew members acknowledge Shep's relationship with Garrus but so far only Jack, Prothy, Tali (LOVE the Dr. Michel discussion) and Liara (when I broke up with her) mentioned it. Wrex mentioned my former relationship with Liara...and yeah that's it. No comment from Kaidan, James, EDI, Joker and no more comments from Liara. I am in the final hours of the game so maybe there is more at the end? So did I miss something?

Kaiden commented on it to me while he was in the hospital. Other than that I think you have all of them.

Kasumi comments on it. After Shepard tells her that Garrus is back on the Normandy, Kasumi says "Of course he is." If Shepard didn't romance him, she says "He never could back down from a fight" or something like that.
Unless my memory is going crazy.

social.bioware.com/forums/forum/1/topic/355/index/9727423/1Just reading that hallucinations theory about the endings, and it got me thinking. I think Bioware's just pulled a sneaky one, that kiddie symbolizing a lot more than I first thought. If so, then those endings might just be epic afterall, will have to finish the game ASAP now
Screw the hope. Just watched the ending vids, oh gawd....kill me now:crying:

The idea originated over here---

The person who came up with it suggested the Nature Conservancy.

Would people here be up for something like this? I think this could garner us a lot of support (as opposed to insults involving entitlement). And it would be a great contribution! If you're interested, let someone involved in one of the campaigns know about it.

Also, even if you stay alive at the end of the destroy ending, you'll have destroyed all artificial life (geths and EDI) and reaper tech (citadel and relays). and Garrus is on that far away planet where either him and Tali or the human crew will have a hard time finding food (levo vs dextro food).
So headcanon might still be the best answer for a happy ending . Or like Sable says, let them meet in heaven.

right there with you guys. i'll miss the official garrusmance... but ya know? we're all pretty creative people... so we'll all be here to keep his memory alive, as well as Shepard as we TRULY remember her/him. not how BioWare wants us to... right?
unless they acually listen to us this time and fix it. good lord they'd better.

Yeah, if the ending isn't a hallucination, I think Shep and Garrus are honestly better off meeting in that bar. And I say this as a RL atheist who finds it very awkward when people pray for me or say things about meeting in heaven. But in the Mass Effect universe, I will totally believe in whatever afterlife if it means Shep and Garrus can see each other again.
The destroy ending obliterates both the Reapers and the relays. Maybe in the Synthesis or Control endings since the Reapers are still around they can be used for their much better FTL, but that's a very, very long shot IMO.

I had a crazy thought. I don't think this is incredibly profound but I was thinking about meeting Garrus at that bar... and then it struck me that all the bars in Mass Effect have names like "Purgatory" and "Afterlife"
Pretty crazy huh?

I'm unsure which version of the kiss I like better. It lasts longer without the Paragon interrupt, but the way he "grins" like an idiot when he doesn't say a thing and just kisses Shep is absolute win. <3

Yeh I used the Paragon option the first time, then I was recording it and forgot to press it, and I prefered the one wihtout the interrupt!

Just replayed it in my save. And yeah, I like the "I'm just gonna smile and kiss you now" better. It's so adorkable.
