that said, yes. i agree that the Garrusmance is probably the most sincere romance that i've seen, other than Fenris.
i've decided that, while i will play till the end... and through the end... i will ignore it. its like watching a bad movie remake of a book... maybe if i just consider it as something completely different.... and then i will play again. and enjoy the wonder that is the garrusmance. no point in letting the ending get me down, when 99.9 % of the rest of the game has been amazing....
regarding garrus's reaction if you dump him... he never really had a 'strong' reaction to it. that doesn't mean anything though... he's not the type to overreact right away. what i see him doing is taking in the information, then taking time to process it...a nd probably being tortured by it for an extended period of time... after beating himself up and over analysing to figure out what he did wrong. but he would never show Shepard how badly it hurt him. he's not that type.

I agree. There WAS potential. I remember completely panicking after the beam hit me and started looking frenetically for my squadmates, but didn't find them anywhere. Talk about emotional investment.
That was the first thing I did when Shepard got up. Immediately, franatically looking for Garrus and Tali. All the while in my head going, OMG DID I JUST GET THEM KILLED??!!

I've seen the ending were he manages to speak to M!Shep before he passes away...and that made me cry like baby. He's like a father to my Shep, her being Earthborn. Is there a mp3 of the extended? Ergh, maybe I shouldn't listen to it...man, now I need tissues
Likewise, the team owes Shep. Like she said, "No one gets left behind"

Also, I'm starting to wonder if Garrus' comments about "turian-human" babies and "imagine what our kids would look like" are just his way of joking around or if he really fails at biology that much... I'm hoping it's the former.

To me it seemed like he was testing the waters a bit...gauging her reaction. IMO, he doesn't see himself very clearly and so, like others have said, always expects the worst. So instead of having a serious convo about family between the two of them he attempts a joke. If Shepard laughs it off and moves on then there isn't any akwardness. But if she doesn't...well, that would give him the confidence to have a more serious convo about it.

I'm sort of a ghost on the forums. I've been in and out of this thread for a while now, and finally decided to say hello!
I just wanted to say that I think the Garrus romance was my absolute favorite.
On my first playthrough of ME3, I honestly couldn't decide between Garrus and Kaidan. So, after staring at the screen for twenty minutes, I took a coin and flipped it. It landed on Garrus.
It's now my lucky coin.
Hope to talk to you guys again soon!

Okay, now looking at it, looks like it was stuff that got cut from the original script after the leak... ?
I dunno....
And dang, the battery died in my mouse, and I was going to play a little....

*hugs and headbumps for everyone* gods i love you guys. I will probably use kaidan for my m/m romance, cause i saw the video for that and it made me rediculously happy. but i've NEVER had a reason to make a maleShepard, so i will for Kaidan.

Honestly, the ending leaves me numb now. It's almost like a dream sequence. It's surreal. I get distracted from the AWFUL starchild thanks to the music and the visuals (which remain epic). Pretty colors. Oooh, Faunts. Nice.
And yeah, I agree about Garrus' reaction when being dumped. He's not the kind to get angry or emotional in front of the girl. Especially Shep. He respects her too much to pester her about it. Plus I have a feeling that turians are not culturally inclined to express how upset they are in public.

Dear God, Jennifer Hale's voice acting in this game got me right in the heart so many times
As for the ending, I still haven't decided on my headcanon or which theory I like best, but the one thing I HAVE decided is that whatever my Shep and Garrus do, they do together. They live together and get a happy ending (not with one of them on some random planet) or they die together and meet up at that bar. I'm not making them go through the ending without each other.

I just had my first conversation with Garrus in my definitive playthrough of the series. God, my Shep's such a cold **** to him at the start of ME1. If I told Garrus the same woman would want to be mother to his children four years later, he'd probably be like "lol wut"

Jennifer is amazing
In the little gaps of dialogue I can just immagine my shep thinking about that picture Garrus painted of their future and wanting it more than anything...
Oh why couldn't the game have just ended there! It was such a beautiful moment!

Same here. She basically starts off by saying: "You didn't find anything relevant about Saren? Useless moron."
Ok not as harsh. But you get the idea.

Oh, totally. I'm pretty sure after everything goes sideways, Garrus reminds my Shep of how horrible she was when they meet up at that bar. I'm sure she can pay him back somehow

I suppose I'm a bad person for killing them off in ME3 just so the ending wouldn't affect them and BioWare wouldn't be able to dick with them anymore

Well, if we DO get a happy ending, I'll revive them and they can adopt a horde of babies from all different species because I think Shep and Garrus trying to raise a motley crew of war orphans is the most precious thing ever.
But until then, they're happily sideways, getting drunk at that bar with Thane and Mordin and Legion.
