Stay hopeful everyone! Don't completely give up on a possible happy outcome for Shep and Garrus (unless you currently like the ending). Join the Retake ME group....its doing great things including donating to a charity. So far it has made 26k+.

I think there might be an epilogue DLC.....we might have some closure. Even though I don't have a lot of hope (just in case its shattered again), its still something...especially since some of the tweets from Mass Effect were hinting at something.

Even if this never happens, headcanon will solve this. Garrus and Shep will meet at that bar...but both of them are going to be alive. :)<3 We deserve a better ending...but more importantly so do they (Shep and Garrus....and many of the ME characters in general).

I will check in with ya'll later! We need to get some more Garrus pics on here and more happy discussions!! :D:wizard:

Smashing, thanks love. <3

And don't worry! We're Garrus fans, without our stubborness there wouldn't even BE a Garrus romance!

ME3 has been such an emotional rollercoaster for me. Garrus has been the light at the end of the tunnel. Playing my second playthrough with him has been such a joy and such a comfort. I know it sounds remarkably silly but--I'm really glad to have him there!! :)

Oh and those app messages are completely wonderful, sweet, and so him. Thanks for posting them. I wish I had an IPhone!

ME3 was such a dark game that the hope spots shone all the brighter.  For me, Tuchanka and reconciling the quarians and geth were huge hope spots, but I still lost friends on those missions.  Garrus was the one consistent bright spot, for both Shep and for me.

EDIT:  And yeah, if you're not stoked with the ending, seriously consider donating to Child's Play through the Retake ME3 movement.  Get the word out there, and more importantly, donate to a very worthy cause.

Conversion of my boyfriend into a full fledged Garrus fanboy has been achieved. B)

On more important news, has anyone noticed that Keener almost has a natural Turian rumble to his voice?

Also... has anyone recieved jealous Garrus comments? I mean, Kaidan finds out you were involved with an ME2 romance, Thane senses there was something between you and Kaidan.

....But Garrus never says anything.

Garrus is way too classy to make jealous comments. ^_^

And besides, why would you want to romance anyone else when you can have Garr-bear and all his class?

It's funny. I've only been playing ME a few months and I was totally set out to romance Kaidan during the three games at first. I barely noticed Garrus in the first game, but I thought he was cool. And a terrific squadmate.
When I found out he was a romance option in ME2 I was really surprised, I didn't expect Bioware to give us an alien romance (apart from the asari, but... well... they look human). And I thought, "hey, why not. I'll try romancing him, he's kinda cool".

He stole my heart so quickly. I'm not sure how it happened. But no regrets whatsoever.

(BTW, I'm loving all those "Retake ME3" banners. It's amazing what BSN is going through right now, even on such a bitter subject)

Ahhhh, I need help please. Is it true that if you go to Liara's room and she's talking to Garrus about is he okay and he says something about curling up with a blanket that you are broken up?

How did this happen? I haven't even talked to Kaidan in the hospital!!

I got that conversation, I was romancing Garrus with no previous romance in ME1. It's normal, no worries. :)

No problem!

I'm guessing he's worried about Palaven.

Speaking of which. I didn't see the scene in which Garrus talks to his dad anywhere on Youtube, so I uploaded it. In English, of course.

That's right, I love you this much.

So, remember how I talked before about if you dumped Garrus, after I reloaded to see how he'd react?  (No, I didn't play my reloads, I had already made new saves after I'd romanced him.)

Well, I remember saying he didn't have much reaction.  But then I remembered something he said if you dump him during the date.  And that got me to thinking about if you dump him in the first conversation.

And then I got really, truly, incredibly sad because his reaction very much meshes with something he tells Shepard in both ME2 and ME3.

Basically, if you dump him during the reunion, he'll say something about he understands, that he didn't want to be a distraction.  Shepard tells him twice that he was never a distraction, even though he doesn't seem to be upset.  I'm pretty sure his take is that he's managed to get Shepard's mind off her duty, and being a better turian than he claims to be, Garrus thinks Shepard has decided to put duty first.  I'm pretty sure that would have him feeling quietly miserable, especially given what he says if you do continue the romance:  that for the past six months, he's been trying to figure out how this reunion is supposed to go.  Yes, I know he's been watching Joker's sex vids, but I don't think he's got any better source for human relationship information.  Put bluntly, while I'm sure he does enjoy the idea of sexing up Shepard, he's also struggling to find a way to express to her how he feels.

If you wait until the date to dump him, he does make one comment I didn't think too much about (because it sounded a little... mean, actually) until after the farewell speech.  He says something like, "Well, we did make an odd couple."  Shepard then tells him she thinks they were never strange.  And Garrus's response?  "Not until you try to imagine what our kids would look like."  It just seemed a little offhanded and out-of-nowhere, and as I said, maybe even a little cruel to say something like that to Shepard.  But... after the farewell speech, you realize, that's how long, at least, he's been thinking of starting a family with Shepard.  And probably longer.

So what makes this make the ending so much more tragic for Garrus?  Because if you dump him, he's going to pretend he doesn't care because he's already prepared himself for the worse.  He says in both ME2 and ME3 that he always expects the worst, so that when something good happens he's pleasantly surprised.  Hence why he seems taken aback when Shepard admits she loves him.  He feels the same, but it's something he doesn't dare to say, just in case.  But with Shepard, he's daring to hope.  He's imagining a future.  His heart's two steps ahead of him while he's always hesitant and nervous to actually move forward and ask Shepard what she wants.  But in the farewell speech, he's building a future for the two of them with a tropical home and kids.  It's the first thing that's ever gone really truly right for him, and he's daring to hope that everything might work out.

But he knows it won't.  Which is why the order to stay alive, and the talk about turian Heaven.  And why when Shepard tells him he'll never be alone, he repeats the word, "never."  It's not just that grim premonition that she'll never come back to him.  It's also because she's told him, without his asking, exactly what he wanted to know:  would she want to spend her life with him?  The answer is not just her life, but eternity.

And so even if you survive, knowing that Shepard's unlikely to see Garrus ever again, even knowing he's not a real person, it's truly heartbreaking to think about the situation that puts Garrus in.  Because the one thing that finally went right for him has now gone horribly wrong.  And we don't even get to see him mourn.

Im coming from a few pages back (Grr at the time difference. Not much  happens when I'm on. Pages when I wake up! lol) but this is beautiful and tragic. I've never had the heart to dump him, but did watch the ME2 ones online.

But this is just heartbreaking. It shows how much he wanted a future with Shep. I can't believe just how sad this is! We HAVE to get a better ending for him!!!!!

Thanks, that in combination with Garrus' goodbye makes my heart ache so much. Such good voice work, but that's expected.

On another note about breaking up with Garrus, I uploaded the reunion one on youtube now if you can "bear" to watch it. I'll have the other one up when I reach the date again.

Well just read the past couple pages since I was last on here and I agree with everything said. As a PS3 player I don't have the pleasure of owning Mass Effect 1, I played half of it on a friend's xbox but he never let me finish. Anyway I was sorta interested in Kaidan at first though felt he was rather pushy so my canon Shep as far as I'm concerned didn't romance anyone in the first game. She and Garrus were always buds but what really drew her attention was he stuck by her no matter what, he had even less reasons to work with Cerberus being an alien but he trusted Shepard fully. Kaidan to me always felt like he was in love with what she represented on not her as a person. Garrus did see her as a person which won her over, that and she has a slight Turian fetish...

I too have noticed the Turian stalker btw. Between Kaidan, Liara, Thane, Jacob, Samantha, somewhat James, Turian stalker, Turian jerk in Samara's loyalty quest, and of course Garrus, Shepard must be irrisistable.

I listened to the cut Anderson piece and boy was that sad. Even though I believe the indoctrination theory it did make my Earthborn Shep was to cry when he told her he was proud of her. In my headcanon he's the reason she joined the Alliance and she considered him a father figure. Wonder what he would have thought about her relationship with Garrus.

I haven't made up my mind completely yet. Do I support the hallucination/indoctrination theory? Does the game end next to Anderson? Or do I have Shepard tell the Catalyst to **** off?

The cut dialogue you posted has actually made me wanna headcanon dying next to Anderson now *angryfist* I hate angst :(  Garrus deserves happiness not Shepard dying damnit! *shakes head in denial*

One thing I'm certain of, and I've said it countless times, the Normandy is not going to crash on a random planet.
And Shep will have turian babies.

Yeah, I might have been able to handle the crappy endings originally, but the Normandy stuff and the stargazer? Nop, ruined all credibility the endings might have had.

Yay I'm not the only one who wants those babies :D Most people are just excited about the adopted krogans but my brain immediately goes to "what if biology actually did co-operate!?" :D

The stargazer's scene was the last kick in the quad of an absolutely horrific ending. I honestly felt insulted when the last screen showed "OLOL SHEP'S A LEGEND BUY DLC!".

I'm not sure about putting my poor Shep into the process of having a baby with an exoskeleton growing inside of her  so, it's adoption for me. But I reckon they'd adopt human or turian babies. I mean, do they have any idea on how to raise a krogan? The attempt would be hilarious but they should stick to what they know.

I was sitting in a waiting room when I read this and was trying so hard not to start sobbing right there and then. Oh Garrus how I love you.

And you guys you felt like you got the cheating thing with Kaidan. I never got that on my Garrusmance. I chose the angry options on mars, and when we spoke in the hospital and he asked about Garrus I chose the "yes, let me explain" option and after that he kinda dropped the whole romance thing. Never had to say anything on the "dinner date" since I never went with the obvious options that were leading to a romance. On my Thane play through I kinda left things open with Kaidan since well.. You know. And then he went all "I understand you cheated" and I just wanted to slap his face, but I couldn't.

Good afternoon all :) God, the time difference makes replying to this forum tricky sometimes lol.

I have to agree though...the dumb stargazers ending just screamed about the fact that Bioware was gonna milk the DLC extra content for all its worth. And I'm sure it's worth rather a lot. I just don't buy the 'that's it' 'goodbye' ending that we were lumped with. I think it's just...bizarre...that we don't learn anything about what happened to the survivors.

Aww, I'd love to see mini Turian/Human hybrids! Everyone in the galaxy would totally know whose kids they were ;) I'd just hope that there's some futuristic method to help Shepard get through carrying an exoskeleton internally...
