Nope! I was really disappointed. I was looking forward to Kaidan being a ****, and Garrus taking the higher ground and walking away. 'Cause you know he would.

That, or Garrus headbutting Kaidan, Harkin-style.

Aww, you got my Shep in your sig.

I don't know. Kaidan's a pretty cool guy, and by that I mean he doesn't get angry easily. Neither does Garrus, at least when it comes to relationships. I don't know, I just can't picture it, in a realistic way.

I mean...I know it would've been super immature and such but still. It didn't have to be over the top. In DA2 there is some banter about Hawke moving from one LI to the other and the companions snip at each other. I'm thinking of Fenris (drool) and Anders...and Isabella's commentary as well. ^_^

It could've been as simple as Ashley making a comment about Tali since she's, IMO, xenophobic. Or Kaidan just not understanding, always pushng for an answer to the point of being a dick like on Horizon. Though the feeds-on-character-drama fangirl in me could've done with some eye scratching and Turian headbutting.

Yep! Heh, hope you don't mind; I play on Xbox so I can't put mine in /D

He got pretty snippy on Horizon :/

Garrus is pretty much a cool cucumber when it comes to Shepard, if there was going to be any conflict between I always imagined him being all '....and? You were an ass to her, you can't blame her for moving on.'

The headbutting thing is my wishful thinking >>

Ah, I have a question: when you get hit with the Reaper beam near the end, does your squad die? 'Cause I almost always have Garrus with me, but I don't want him ending up as a turian roast.

Wait, so what DO Garrus and Kaidan say if you romanced Kaidan in ME1 and Garr-bear in ME2 & 3?  Now I has a curious.

And to answer your question, the squad does die if you don't have enough war assets.

I think I'm a bit of an odd one out. I pick Control. It doesn't seem like a great idea (and none of them do), but my Shepard wouldn't be able to face Garrus after completely invalidating everything Legion worked for. It would be like agreeing to kill all Turians everywhere in exchange for the off chance that she might live. Even if Garrus or the rest of her crew was okay with it, she wouldn't want them to be.

Karrie788 wrote...

I don't like what they did with the VS in ME3. Always that trust issue... Garrus and Tali never questioned your decisions, they followed you when you needed them, period. Wrex and Liara still trusted you even if their duties took them elsewhere. Of the ME1 squad, only the VS keeps b*tching about Cerberus after the end of ME2. It's annoying, especially in a romance.

I never romanced Kaidan, but I did have him alive. I put up with him for one playthrough, hoping he'd get over it, and...he didn't. Then seemed upset that my Shepard was annoyed with him stopping every few minutes to ask if she was really really sure she wasn't with Cerberus.

This time around I was pure Renegade to him and felt much better for being able to tell him to stop holding up everything to question me AGAIN or to just leave. I refused to let him join the Normandy again, too. I'm not sure what else can trigger it, but Joker saluting me and saying that was me finally getting the respect I deserve felt like at least one person on the crew understood why I didn't want Kaidan on the team. He wasn't really with the mission or ready to work with Shepard.

Of course I don't mind. :)

I blame poor writing for the whole Horizon fiasco. He basically was Ashley with a penis in that scene. That scene feels off when it's him. When it's Ashley it was much more natural. She was true to her personality. Kaidan... not so much. It's like after Virmire their personalities... merged.

Funny, I imagine Garrus freaking out if a human ever came on to Shepard. Silently, mind you, I doubt he'd confront her immediately. But given how uncertain he can get in the relationship, I can see him getting worried.

Oh, Garrus headbutting people is always a glorious sight. B)

As far as I could tell, Garrus says nothing and Kaidan only mentions it in the Hospital, where you can lie about it, apologise, or be all 'So?'.

And thanks! I was worried about taking Garr-bear with me and seeing him dead :crying:

I've never had a Shepard that's saved Ash- I only have two Sheps- so I don't know how Ash acts >>

Yeah, I think if it were anyone else he'd be upset, but since Kaidan hurt Shep I don't think he'd be worried. If he caught on that Samantha was trying it on with Shep, I'm sure he'd freak xD

It did feel very good. Shut up or GTFO.

I've never not let him back on the Normandy though...does he get super pissed like Ashley?

Man, whatever problems I may have with the game's ending, the Garrus relationship this time around was absolutely wonderful.

As pathetic as this is, though, during that last scene in which you talk with Garrus... I started full on bawling. Immediately after, when they put you on that machine gun turret, I was so wracked with sobs that I couldn't see to shoot. It was pretty bad, haha.

(also hi fellow Garrus fans. c:)

I can barely stomach that scene. It makes me weep like a baby, and I can start seeing the dreadful endings coming right towards me to kick me in the face. It's awful.

Not pissed, just surprised and disappointed. He really doesn't get why Shep might be frustrated.

TBH I kind of like the idea of Kaidan growing a spine where Shep is concerned.  My Shep terrified him in ME1.  I hope he's not as much of a brat as Ashley is; I only let her on board the Normandy because the alternative was giving her her own command, and I don't trust her judgment as far as I can throw her after the Udina coup.

Also, shameless self-promotion and depressingness: Ghost

Hey, my Garrus-mancer vanguard went with Control, too. Sacrificing the geth was not acceptable, nor was determining the direction of organic life. It's a pity she won't be coming back to him, but with the Citadel still intact... Well, if what we've got is all there is, I have some images about the keepers and adverts acting strangely around Garrus and most of the old crew. Little flickers of whatever's left after she dissolved to become QUEEN OF THE REAPERS.

And I'm sorry. ESPERANZA SHEPARD, QUEEN OF THE REAPERS cracks me up.

*hugs* There there. How long has it been since you beat the game?

Regarding the endings, in the end, it doesn't matter. They all suck.

Esperanza Shepard, Queen of the Reapers... I approve. xD

Hahaha... it's been five days. I'm getting over it. I feel non-depressed enough to come post on the forums at least! And well enough to start drawing fanart again. I'm just going to choose to believe the endings don't exist!

That said- I picked destroy. Like I'm going to sit there and trust the self confessed controller of the reapers. I said I was going to kill reapers, and dang it, that's what I'm going to do.

I mean, what? Ending? What are you talking about?

It was so OOC for shepard, the real shepard would tell the kid to F*** off and make it just shut down the reapers . I mean look what shep has DONE, reunited races who hated eachother's guts! Killed a reaper on foot. Like hell she would just go along with what the creepy little AI was saying.without second guessing any of it.

This is what I think of the ending.

If BioWare doesn't care enough about the IP to give it a decent end, then I won't make Shepard suffer through it.  Next time I play, it's gonna be the destroy ending, with purposely gimped assets so Shep and Garrus both go sideways.

Well...and Shepard has ALWAYS been presented, no matter how your play her/him, as someone who will make their own path if the current one does not suit them. For her to just sit there and essentially nod and GIVE UP is completely out of character.

Haha DM of the Rings :D thanks!

Yep. That's the biggest problem I have with those awful endings: character assassination. Shepard gives up. Joker becomes a coward. Your entire crew act like cowards, when you think about it. They leave you behind. Alone.
And all you're left to do is to listen to the idiocy of the Catalyst's flawed logic... and to obey it. It's maddening.

There's the endoctrination theory, but to pull off a "it was all a dream" ending... ME deserves better. We deserve better. Shakarian deserves better.

I was hoping for a confrontation between Kaidan/Garrus too! At least, on my playthrough where I romanced Kaidan in ME1, and then HELL YEAH I cheated on him with Garrus when I got the chance, I'd have been crazy to pass up that sexy Turian.

In my imagination, I wanted the confrontation to go something like this. Er, well, maybe this isn't how it should have gone since Garrus gets shafted, haha, but here's some Brandon Keener smut anyway!

Shamus Young's stuff is hilarious.

And besides, what I really cared about in the Mass Effect franchise at the end of the day were the characters, and the two I cared most about were Shep & Garrus.  They became an entity, there wasn't one without the other.  If I can rescue them from that god-awful ending easily and without headcanoning, why wouldn't I?  I can conclude their story and let the rest sort itself out.

I always was a sucker for bittersweet :)

I want to believe that those dreams shep was having were subtle examples of indoctrination. And harby hit her with the most powerful one right at the end. And that Shep was really under some rubble the whole time while harby fed her this fake reality where she sacrificed herself thus destroying her mind if she gave in.
