And FYI, Bluumberry, thanks for all the Garrus youtube videos that you have on there!

You're welcome ^^ I hope to have more up soon of the choices I didn't pick and scenes I didn't record.

Some characters just don't work for some people. Me, I really dislike Liara *hides*. Sooo... I guess I can understand why people would hate team dextro. Whether we like it or not, Garrus is our buddy in ME2 while you could be a complete j*rk to him in ME1. I know some people were annoyed by this. Kills the roleplay.

*In hushed tones* What/who is VS? Vakarian/Shepard?

I am new to this forum, started ploughing through the pages to figure out what it meant, but may give up soon!

Also, Hi, another Garrus fan to add to your masses.

*head bump*

Welcome to the Turian love-fest.

EDIT:

I didn't really like Liara either, I didn't like the way it seemed her romance was pushed on you IN EVERY GAME.

And I had no 'rekindle the romance' options with Kaiden in ME3 even if I hadn't locked in Garrus yet. *sweet*

I could understand why people hate Tali if only for the sake of some of her romancers. They can be a bit... Um...

Have yet to meet anyone who truly dislikes Garrus though

And YES then photo of Tali IS a photoshopped image, a poorly done one I might add.

http://filesmelt.com...ist_of_copy.jpg

Say hello to the big list of copy. <_< Tali's face wasn't the only ripped image...

I've met one. Basically she thinks he was too weak-willed in ME1, and was irritated that he ran on Omega regardless of whether you paragoned or renegaded him in the first game.
She also didn't like the fact Shep had to be best buds with him.

Yeah, well, I didn't like the fact Liara's romance was pushed on me. Least she has the option to not recruit him in ME1 or kill him in ME2. I can never get rid of Liara.

The even more disappointing thing is, they already HAD concept art for Quarians not in their suits from back in ME1, they just took a lazy way out.

I genuinely like Liara, but I don't like how she's expected to be Sheps' best friend or LI.  She *was* my Shep's BFF, but it's more the principle of the thing.  Same goes for Kaidan and Ash.  I can like the characters while disliking how elements of their writing were handled.  But I digress--you CAN off her at the end if you take her with you and don't have enough war assets ^_^

As for people not liking Garrus, no character is 100% likeable but Garr-bear is pretty damn close.  He was the most selected squaddie in ME2, tops a lot of people's favorite lists, etc.  No wonder why he's recruitable so early in ME3.

She also dislikes Liara :P

But tbh, so do I. I don't like asari in general, I think the concept was interesting, but making them a race of hot alien babes was beyond ridiculous.
Liara ninjamanced me once. I tried to get rid of her at the locker scene but she wouldn't let go. 20 hours wasted. To say I was upset would be an understatement.
Plus, I don't see the appeal of her character. I think she's boring. And the romance feels so forced.

Edit: Agreed on Tali's face. The concepts they made were far more interesting than the face we ended up with. She looks way too human!

I actually started to like Liara after ME1. In ME2 and even in ME3, she's good friendship material.

Also, I love her father. Matriarch Aethyta is amazing.

While Liara is good friend material, I do think my Shepard got along better with Ash. Poor Ash. If the dev finally stop with this garbage about how the Indoctrination theory isn't real, I might have enough gas to replay my cannon Shepard with a dead Kaidan and a Sis Ash. I miss her, and Kaidan's romance wasn't able to hold much of a candle to Garrus' after my first PT.

It's possible though that they listened to the fans of each character/romance and picked up what they were saying about the character and went with that. I know a lot of Kaidan mancers who are very happy with his romance. I just didn't find it as awesome as the Turian's. :D

Virmire Survivor, thanks!

It is quite freaky how all the romance scenes with Garrus played out exactly how I imagined them to, even to the moment when you wake up and he's at the desk working on stuff.

And the last goodbye. OH. MY.

The romances that WERE continued properly did do a wonderful job of playing up each character's defining traits, and I think that's why they were well received by fans.  I'm not gonna touch the mess that is the ME2 romances with a 10 foot pole.

@karrie: ...so what does she like then? Tell me she hates Wrex too and I will be severely unamused.

Like I said before, I came to adore Liara after the Redemption Comic, she was just so paragade in LotSB and ME3. Hell, I even headcannoned her last gift to Shepard was that she told Shepard she always loved her (hence explaining the weird look on my FemSheps face after the 'memory') and impregnated herself with my Shepards baby.

But she's a better friend than lover.

Kaidans romance was well done, I just didn't enjoy it as much as Garrus's. It might have something to do with the fact the VS always questions Shepards every move.

Mmm yea.  Well, as much as I wanted Thane to live, I knew that his story would probably come to an end in ME3.  But the thing about not having time to grieve after or no one even recognizing he had passed irked me some.

As for Jacob... yea.  Yikes.

I'm curious to see Jack's, but I've always been kind of meh on Miri.

Just haven't had the gumption to play another PT considering the downer that the endings are.

Yea, though admittedly the Shepard that romanced him romanced Thane as well, so I think that the level of trust issues the two have is prevelant.

Though his face got a bit weird during the Loft Scene.

I kind of want the option to shake Kaidan and be like, "Look, I'm the protagonist.  You're not.  Therefore, I'm right and STFU."  Instead, since FemShep is not allowed to yell at Kaidan, I'll content myself with yelling at him in ME1.  God, my Shep starts off such a ****.

In unrelated but adorable news, my cat has taken to wandering in front of the screen while I'm trying to replay Garrus convos :P  Sorry, Ser Pounce-a-lot, Garrus was here first.

Her favorites are Wrex and Ashley.

I admit I've never played LotSB. But the fact that she gave my body to Cerberus freaked me out. I couldn't run fast enough from her office.

I found it odd that Kaidan was so damn suspicious of Shepard, while Garrus stays by their side without question.
My cat has recently turned to taking over my keyboard while I play, I think he's jealous. ;)

@karrie: ...she's forgiven then. Wrex is pretty awesome, and Ashley is such a sis.

I actually ended up liking Liara as a good friend. Aside from Jack there really wasn't any good human friends for my Shep. She highly respects Hackett and views Anderson as a father figure. I do like the concept of Asari but I do get annoyed at how fanfics biologically make them exactly as a human female. Their species evolved all female more or less, they wouldn't have the same *ahem* physical reactions as a human female would. For Asari I imagine it's all mental with their melding thing. Just saying.
