Eh? How the hell did I miss this thread? Well anyway, don't mind if I'm gonna feel myself at home.

EDIT: Okay, I'll think I post more than one pic. All credits goes to Lordess-Alicia

Yaaayy!! I missed posting earlierer on, but yeehah! For this new thread.

Do you think the 'l' word will be spoken in Garrus' ME3 romance dialogue?

i dont think it needs to be said that much. It could but seeing the big picture (this is a game with multiple romance arcs after all) I see those kind of talks more in other romances. Garrus arc is more about implying and action and less about big declarations.

Not saying he would never say that those words to Shep but as the writters want to differentiate the romances, he could say something much adorkable/badass ingame.

I think that was a lowercase L. ^_^

It could go either way, really. I hope if the L word is used, it's done tastefully, and emotionally.

I hope the "l" word will be one of the goals of all the imported romances. It's even odder if you think that it appears only in Jacob's romance and in some of Kasumi's gossips. Also, I hope to ear that not in a "death of the LI" sequence >_<

I'd much rather see it implied than spelled out.

Yeah. I don't think that with Garrus, it will be a straight forward 'I love you.'

Ok, maybe if they were taking down some Cerberus assassins and Shepard just sniped two enemies in the head with one shot, then Garrus may say it <3

And sorry, I meant the 'love' word ;) Jacob can use it, Thane has it in his letters, and Miranda and Liara imply it I believe.

Yup, not a platheal declaration of love done during a romance scene. For Garrus, I'd expect more something like Shepard calmly walk away from a big explosion she caused in the end of a mission and then Garrus, staring at her says "Damn, I love that woman!" or so.

Whispering "I love you" during a cuddles/romance scene fits more Liara, Thane or Tali than him.

I see him as a father but in like another 10-20 years

He needs someone to carry on his awesomeness

I can't see Garrus as a father now. But like Danny said, I can see it being a possibility in the future.

Mind you, I can't see femshep as a mother either...

Woo! I'm new here so hai. x3
I only started getting in the mass effect fangirl state a few weeks back, and I must say Garrus stole my heart away the moment I recruited him, as well as the fact that all the Turians seemed both handsome in a way and epic.

I agree. After maybe 10 years. If he would become a father now, he would always have to think of his baby and stuff, instead of focusing on the importance of saving the galaxy. B)

I have no trouble seeing how they could make it work from a writing perspective, my main concern is that the relationship for those who romanced him in ME2 will suffer by adding the option to start a new relationship with him in ME3, either by...

- Cutting his number of romance lines in order to split it between the two 'versions'
- Wasting dialogue rehashing old themes from the ME2 romance (like him being nervous about their physical differences) because it'll be new to new players
- Or, and this is the worst, having some sort of 'break-up' occur in-between games so that no matter what you did you have to essentially 'start fresh' with him in ME3, just so they don't have to write many differences in the dialogue.

I think starting a relationship in ME3 could potentially be done really well, but as a long time fan obviously I think the priority should be a payoff for those of us that have been around since the first game.

Yeah, that would definitely suck, but I don't think they'd do something like that for the last game. Everything we've seen and heard so far indicates that they're pulling all the stops for the final installment so I have confidence (hopefully not misplaced, haha) that Bioware will do the veteran fans justice. I think a lot of veteran players were kind of appalled at what you had to start out with in the second game if you didn't carry over a file from ME ( I know I was at least), so while they are making the game accessible to new players, I tend to believe they're trying to leave some incentive to encourage new players coming in late to the series to go out and buy the previous games.

Although for all I know they'll allow you to negate the presest for ME2 with ME3's comic book thing at the beginning.

I.... constantly debate with meself over whether or not i want to see the 'L' word used. I dont think I do. or something like, "I lo...." and then something explodes or something. :D

there were a very large amount of wonderful scenarios posted in the other thread that were plausable.

this is the one that I like best. (aside from anything involving explosions) its got just the right amount of Han and Leia without being cheesy. :D

Garrus: Shepard I .... *awkward pause*
Shepard: I know, Garrus. Me too.

And regarding Garrus as a father? He'd be an amazing father, once he's ready to settle down. He's already proven himself to be devoted and loyal to those he loves... He just needs to stop having rockets and tables thrown at his face.
(see what I did there, Skype group?)

and baby turian is probably the cutest thing I've ever ever seen. Ever.

I'm hoping for a final cut scene several years after where they do this. I will name my first born after the lead writer if they do this. (Well, not really, but it's the thought that counts, right? ~_^)

I just hope in general that you will be able to take some action after the ME3 conflict ends to continue the romance storyline and have more options to interact with your love interest other than just sitting with them of lying in bed together.

And yeah, let me get into the romance right from the beginning if I'm starting out in a relationship, don't get lazy on me with a quick reset like in ME2. I have faith in you Bioware writers, you can do 'et!

P.S. What is this Skype group you speak of?
